Splits are smaller sections within a run. It look like the app you use automatically sets the splits to be 1 mile long, but splits can be any length you want. In training, when you do speed work, you will run sections at different paces, each of those sections is a split. Even splits means you kept a consistent pace…

I've wondering about this too since I'm planning along distance hike for the summer. I don't have a Fenix 3, and my question was actually how stitch several days worth of hiking into one long activity. Is this something that can be done in Connect after the fact? For the purpose of MFP and calorie tracking, I would find a…

Because you are still eating the same piece of meat but it will weigh less once cooked (assuming grilled or not otherwise cooked in liquid). Plus different methods of cooking introduce or subtract liquids so you won't have an accurate weight for the meat itself.

I'm 5'1.5", and trying to lose 30 pounds. My goal without exercise is1370 calories per day. How much I net varies from day to day, depending on exercise.

I could be wrong but all the Garmin watches I've ever had run by charging, not battery like normal watches.

I do miss the challenges on the Fitbit.
-
I used the Fitbit Charge HR for 9 months, and I am now on a Garmin Forerunner 235. I like them both, but I prefer the Garmin because it's all in one. You can use the Fitbit to track exercise but it requires the phone app, which has been crashing like mad lately. I've always used a Garmin for running so when I wore the…

I weigh myself once a week, always first thing in the morning on the same days (Wednesday), for the sake of consistency. Your weight fluctuates from day to day, I think it's futile to weigh yourself every day. For me, it's also a carryover from over a decade ago when I did Weight Watchers for the first time because that's…

I've started it three times, but have never finished it. One of those times I made it through the first day of the second phase. It's hard, especially if you are not otherwise fit, but it does get easier. For me, the problem is boredom. It gets boring to the same workout for ten days. That's the real challenge for me and I…

For example, look at today's lunch, the shrimp is missing from the diary on the app.

Which Fitbit do you have?
-
I have tried several different types (all earbuds though) and I find that the Apple headphones that come with iPhones, iPods, etc. are the best for me. You can buy them individually too if you don't have an Apple device.

How do you see your steps on MFP?
-
I just checked and everything seems to be working. Is see my activity on MFP and now I see my calorie intake from MFP over on GC. Yay! It wasn't working earlier.
-
Just curious and tangential to your question but are the OTF heart rate monitors shared or are you assigned one for you and you alone? It can't be hygienic to share unless they wash them after every single use.
-
I'm gonna give it a few more days to sort itself out. If the shenanigans continue, I'll go back to the Fitbit for everyday tracking.

I have nothing coming over to MFP.
-
I've tried all that and still nothing. It doesn't work on the web version of Connect or the iOS version.

I've worn a Fitbit Charge HR since last June but I needed to replace my 6 year old dying Garmin so I figured I'd get one that I could use for running AND activity tracking, which required two devices until then. So, a few days ago I got a Garmin Forerunner 235 and I'm not sure about it as far as a replacement for the…

So, I had my goal set to 2lbs per week and my calorie allowance was 1200. Just for kicks, I set it to 1.5lbs per week and my calorie allowance is still 1200. I'm 5'1.5 and have just under 30 pounds to lose. I pretty much always eat my exercise calories/Fitbit adjustment.

I started using the Fitbit just over a month ago. I love it so far. https://www.fitbit.com/user/3K9ST5

The Fitbit counts all the calories that you burn in a 24 hour period, not just the calories you consider to be exercise calories. You burn calories even when not exercising, that's why you wear the Fitbit all day long.

I went from bottoms size 14 (american) to size 0 or 2, depending on the brand. The tops and dresses vary so much that I don't even know!

Thanks! I have been lifting with dumbbells for a while but nothing crazy, my heaviest set of dumbbells is 15 pounds and I rarely use them. Lately I've been doing Jackie Warner's Power Circuit Training upper body workout as I've been short on time but that's about it. So yeah, "heavy" would be a huge overstatement!

I really don't think everyone can be painted with the same brush, so to speak. My husband and I are both runners; I wears shoes and he runs barefoot. Not minimalistic, completely barefoot. The only injuries he's suffered so far have been some blisters when he was first starting out. The only injuries I've suffered have…

That is not true, sit ups won't do anything for belly fat. This is an old misconception. You simply cannot spot reduce fat. The only thing sit ups will do is give you ripped abs...under a nice layer of fat.

I beg to differ. Her health is of no concern to the neighbors and you can't impose your will on others just because you think it's more important that whatever it is others want. That said, OP, unless you are exercising during quiet hours, they have no grounds to stand on and I'd keep doing it if I was you. If you are…

Moderate effort is dependent on the individual. On a road surface at easy to moderate effort (for me), I can ride about 45 miles about 55 if I'm with a group. That's on a road bike. If the group you are going to join is on road bikes, even the slowest ones will go much, much faster than 17 miles in 3 hours.

Are the 300 minutes done in one go? If so, that is a ot to do every day. However, if they are done over the course of a week, that's only 5 hours of exercise which is very manageable.

With that huge caloric deficit, how do you find the energy to actually perform your exercises? There comes a point where you MUST eat more just to fuel the workouts. 2000 calories a day is a whole lot not to replace!
