This all sounds so familiar to what I do. I have great success with mfp and then I just binge and all my months of hard work is lost. I've just today started again and try to learn from my mistakes. It is difficult but I always believe that if you want it enough then you can achieve it. Even when I'm failing I know why,…

Hey. I've been where you are and it wasn't that long ago, just three weeks ago. I plucked up the encourage to stand on the scales and felt instantly depressed :( I'd be happy to support you in your weight loss journey. R x

I know, if there is anything that makes using MFP easier it's the barcode scanner.

Well, my exercise routine is pretty much cardio all the way. I am a cardio gym junkie! My usual workout involves a 5 min up hill walk on the treadmill (warm up), then running on the treadmill for say 20 to 30 mins (between 3.5 to 5km), then walking at an incline on the treadmill for 15 mins, with a few sprints sprinkled…

Add me too. I've enter any 5k runs but I can manage them okay on the treadmill at gym. My best time so far is 5k in 30 mins.

All this calorie talk is confusing. I just try to stick to 1200 when I don't workout. If I do exercise then I'll eat more, but try to stay close to 1200. That works for me. I couldn't imagine eating 2500 cals even if I wasn't trying to lose weight.

Not surprised....I never really believed all the hype about the toning shoes.

Total opposite.....I've never tried running outdoors, only on a treadmill at the gym. If I could I would buy a treadmill to use at home. Running outside sounds scary to me!!

If its Starbucks then I have a tall or grande Americano with skimmed milk (no sugar). If I'm at home then instant coffee with a little semi-skimmed milk (no sugar). The most I'd drink in one day is two cups.

As other people have already said the machines are way off. I bought myself a heart rate monitor this week and discovered that the machines were over estimating my calorie burn by 100 calories. I also find that the MFP estimate can be off as well. If I'm not wearing my heart rate monitor I will usually input a lower weight…

I'm no expert, however, I am a cardio freak! I'd say that you just need to build your fitness. Try interval training, this will build your stamina.

A rest day is essential. I usually only train 5 times a week, occasionally 6. You should at a minimum have at least one rest day.

I get the same all the time. Trying to lose weight and watching what/how much you eat is not a bad thing.
-
I don't really gain any weight, just get a bit bloated.

I'm a member at Fitness First. I absolutely love the gym. I find it really motivating just being there.

Thanks for all the super quick replies. I get that my first post was a bit dumb....fat to muscle title also didn't help. Honestly, I am not that thick. I get that you cannot turn one into the other. Basically, reading the replies I get that I need to add some weights to my work out. So I will. Thanks again

Sorry, I think I might not have explained myself very well here. I don't mean turning fat to muscle. I know that you cannot turn fat to muscle. But burning fat and building muscle. The comment I read implied that you couldn't do that. I don't really do much resistance training. I know I should do more. I'm just more of a…
