Do it!! Even if you finish last, that just means more people cheering for you at the finish line :) You will do great :) Have fun!!

You can also just make your own - throw a bunch of peanuts in the food processor and let it go until they're peanut butter :) I sometimes add just a couple drops of peanut oil to make it a little creamier but you don't have to. Even mu husband likes it, and he is a very picky eater :)

Make sure they are out of sight!! Otherwise, they will sit there calling your name :) I would spend as little time in the same house with those cookies as possible--grab the kids and go for a walk, that way you're burning calories AND defeating temptation :)

If you're really "disgusted", use that as motivation to get out the door and exercise, that's what I do. Hang in there, you can do it!!

Do you mean the amount of calories burned? When I checked it on another site, it was around 190 calories burned for an hour. Hope that helps!

My husband, gotta love him, says he actually likes me heavier because my boobs are bigger :) One thing I've heard that might help you feel better is to make sure you do toning exercises that focus on your chest (pushups, bench press, etc) because if the muscle behind your breasts is toned, it can help them appear perkier.…

I totally feel you--after many years in retail, I couldn't listen to Christmas music for the longest time, I was just so sick of it all. Finally, after almost 10 years, I can enjoy it again :) It really is sad that it has become such a stressful time instead of a time of joy and being thankful.

I think you're ok running on most days of the week as long as every day isn't a hard, long run. If you do speed work, hills, tempo runs, etc, make sure that the next day is a slower, easier day. You'll still burn plenty of calories on the easy days but it will give your body a little bit of a break. If you're just getting…

They only looked at stretching BEFORE your warmup or the workout, which has been falling out of favor for a while now. And they are talking about static stretching, where you just stretch and hold it. Better to stretch by doing gentle but exaggerated motions that are similar to the activity you are doing.

Boxes usually got to me within about 7 days but I was at a big base, if he's at an outlying post, it might take longer. I got homemade cookies a couple of times and they always held up just fine. Just make sure you pack them well so they're not crumbs when they get there :)

Definitely hot apple cider, with cinnamon-sugar donuts!! Yum-o!! Can I come tree-cutting with you? LOL As far as healthier, I would say the apple cider--it's fat free and has the apple nutrients (as long as it's cloudy cider and not filtered juice). Although if the hot chocolate is made with milk, it's got calcium, etc.…

I think the calculation for pushing a stroller also takes into account that you can rest a little of your weight on the stroller, similar to how people tend to rest their arms on the handles of a stairclimber. It takes some of the weight off your legs so you burn less calories.

Is it really low on your leg, like the Achilles tendon area? You might need to stretch out better after you are done walking (you want to do it after you walk so the muscles are warmed up). You can stretch it out by standing on a stair and dropping one heel down over the edge of the stair until you feel a stretch in the…

I'm a big believer in "the Lord helps those who help themselves" and it sounds like you have got the right attitude when it comes to getting healthy!! Best of luck to you!!

I totally understand your situation, except I was the one going to Iraq and losing the weight because I was eating right and working out all the time  It's tough coming home and having access to all sorts of yummy, fattening foods. Sounds like you and yours are on the right track, good luck keeping it up!!

I was on the shot for five years, didn't gain anything until about year 3 when I stopped working out as much and ate whatever the hell I felt like. Lost it all and then some when I started watching what I ate and working out (while still on the shot). Everyone's body reacts differently to different drugs but I only gained…

In about 15 months, I went from 34% to 18%. I did it the healthy way, through diet and exercise, but it took a TON of exercise. And I was pretty muscular to start with so I ended up losing about 40 pounds of fat. The first 5% or so should come off fairly quickly if you work at it--IMHO, I would think 2-3 months would be a…

Yeah, breastfeeding only burns about 500 calories a day, and if you're already close to your goal weight, chances are your body will hang on to a little extra weight to support the breastfeeding. I've talked to a lot of women who are having trouble losing the last 5-10 while they're breastfeeding. If you're not already on…

Also, not sure if they all do this, but our digital cable has a fitness on-demand channel that always has a couple good pilates classes on it.

Everything in moderation!! Just because you had a Big Mac doesn't mean you have "blown it" and it's not a good idea to just pig out for the rest of the weekend too. Add the Big Mac into your calories, eat a light dinner tonight, and go for a walk. One item of food isn't going to do that much damage but a three or four day…

I noticed the same thing but for the opposite reason--when our budget got tight and we had to stop eating out, it became much easier to stay under my allotted calories for the day!! Restaurant food is, for the most part, so calorie dense!!

You said you've talked to him about it twice in a civilized way--how does he respond? Does he get defensive? Minimize your feelings or tell you that you're being silly? Does he try to empathize with how you're feeling and do anything to make you feel better about it? I can definitely understand you feeling uncomfortable…

I also grew up in Wisconsin and ended up in Texas via the US Army. I really like Austin, it is a great college town and reminds me a lot of Madison. However, I cannot stand the heat and even after 5 years here, I'm still not used to it. I really miss the seasons!! But if you're sick of snow in the winter and pretty fall…
