I was doing so good calorie wise and exercising this week and just blew it at lunch with a Big Mac meal- I'm SO mad at myself right now:explode:

Oh well I have this quirky thing that I need to start any exercise plan on a Monday so I may just throw caution to the wind for the weekend!:drinker:

A friend sent me this heartwarming video a few weeks back of a baby moose- I thought some of you might enjoy. here's the link

Ummm....not to sound rude....but why wait to get back on track after the weekend.
I've got the same "Monday mentality" as you do, but in this process....there is ALWAYS another Monday....
I've blown it TONS but you start again, immediately...no sense in pigging out and having even MORE work to do. I mean, that's 3 whole days of splurging!

IMHO you are better off to get back on track the next snack.

She doesn't seem to be beating herself up too much-- she's waiting til Monday to exercise off her calories. fingersmiley.gif
  • Everything in moderation!! Just because you had a Big Mac doesn't mean you have "blown it" and it's not a good idea to just pig out for the rest of the weekend too. Add the Big Mac into your calories, eat a light dinner tonight, and go for a walk. One item of food isn't going to do that much damage but a three or four day binge will. You can start your program on Monday either having to work off one Big Mac or a whole weekends worth of extra calories--which do you think will be easier? Sorry if this comes off as harsh, just trying to be helpful....

You're right Stacey- I think I'm just looking for an excuse to go wild on the weekend- any excuse will do these days!
Guess I better get back to counting my calories (I just looked up a big mac meal in the calorie counter and it's 1138 calories.......yikes!!!

You're right of course! Guess I'll keep it light the rest of the day and get back to the gym in the AM.
I needed a good kick in the pants- I've got to get rid of the Monday mentality!

Ok, so its totally your life and totally your decision, but won't you feel angry with yourself over and over again this weekend if you keep messing up. I don't know about you but I feel even more guilty on Monday if I blew the WHOLE weekend.

This is my suggestion, start your exercise on Monday if you want, but pick back up with good healthy meals the next time you put something in your mouth. Part of the problem is that you have to look at it as a permanent change other wise you'll be stuck in this back and forth cycle forever. My husband does that alot...."Oh well I blew it with this meal and didn't feel like exercising, I'll just take this day or that off and start again on day X" next thing you know, its two to three weeks down the road and he still hasn't started.

I don't want to sound B ****y in any way so please understand I mean absolutely the best by this: Stop making exceptions! If your serious understand that some days will suck and some days you won't work out, but you have to keep going. If you don't you've just put youself on another quick fix diet doomed to failure!

Ahhh-- sweetie, you're not sounding rude. You're sounding practical-- personally, I love it. There's nothing wrong with a "from the hip" delivery-- in my opinion-- but then again, this is from the woman that everyone was p'd off at for being bottom line months back-- so, I guess consider the source.

    Sorry you're ailing today-- hug005.gif
  • It is about the next meal not the next day or next Monday.
I am glad you see what everyone is saying about jsut pick up and start over now and adding it to your calories and not having to do extra work on Monday.

You can do it !!! We all have faith in you!!!!

Thanks everyone and I WILL get back on track right away- my problem is at work where a friend and co-worker both share the same bad habits but know I'm responsible for my own actions.

You all overwhelmingly told me what I guess I already knew . Thanks again:flowerforyou:

I have the same problem. All of the girls I work with are a size 5 or smaller and they eat what they want, my sister is the same way. I on the other hand have struggled since middle school. But support and sometimes tough love is what keeps ppl coming back right?

I'm a keyboard warrior from 8-5 M-F, if you ever need someone to vent to or just need to check in for support, I'm always here!

Totally! I'm ok with cushioning the blow, but I prefer ppl to be honest with me! I mean ...if I'm wearing a pair of pants that give me muffin top and shows the dimples in my booty....somebody better tell me the truth....I DO NOT wanna hear "ohhh girl ...those pants look good on you...are you loosing weight?"
