  • Bump ~ You have done terrific. Thanks for sharing this, and congratulations on a job well done.
  • It may be nothing at all, or it could be signs of acid reflux or other issues. Water should not trigger heartburn, but if it is, I would talk to a doctor and find out why and what can be done about it. If in fact you are producing stomach acid and it's coming up out of your stomach, you could damage the lining of your…
  • Bravo! I agree with you, and could add even more that I've seen here and other places. Listen to the professionals (real professionals, schooled, tested, and accountable, not just someone who has an important sounding title) Read the directions, and follow them, ask if you don't understand, and if you think there's been a…
  • I use a body ball for working core muscles and improvised some of the therapy exercises so that I do them on the ball, too. It has greatly improved my core strength, reduced back pain, and it is very low impact. Even doing jumping jacks while sitting on the ball does not cause any pain. Of course, talk to your physician or…
  • Maybe try light active? It depends on how much your doing during the day, with young children, your on your feet, so I'm thinking the light. Just a thought.
  • Don't laugh, but a good, well fitting girdle will do you wonders. Not only to give support around the waist and tummy, but it also gives great support to your back muscles.

  • I agree wholeheartedly, it's a poor term that doesn't fit the situation, I like yours much better, if I don't consume enough calories in a twenty four hour period over a period of time, I will most likely suffer from malnutrition, but I doubt I would begin to starve. Seriously, starving people are skinny to the point of…
  • Yes, I do, but only when I've eaten too many carbohydrates and not enough protein. For me, it seems the more carbohydrates I eat, especially simple ones, the more I crave things. I also find myself "looking" for food, even though I've just eaten. When I eat a balance of proteins to carbohydrates, I don't get the cravings…
  • Besides aiding in weight loss, flushing the system of impurities, and helping to metabolize fat, water is also a natural pain medication, it keeps joints lubricated, fluid around the nerve fibers, and aids in digestion.
  • It can't, my birthday isn't until the 23 and I'm not going to miss it on their account. They're going to have to pick a different day, sorry.
  • Do some research on Hemp, it seems almost too good to be true.
  • The argument goes back and forth, and it can be very confusing. Here is link to a post some time ago that I found very interesting and informative, hope it helps. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo
  • I'd say your doing pretty well. One thing to look at (you can change it under "settings-diary settings," if you want to monitor it) is sodium. If your retaining water, your weight loss isn't going to show. Another thing is fiber, if your not flushing food through, it can add weight in. Also, not exercising may account for…
  • That explains everything! I'm not only replacing my shampoo, but bubble bath, too. Thanks for sharing.
  • My wife and I used to love going out to eat, and have found places that we can eat foods that work with our new lifestyle, but anymore, the food is always so salty and we feel horrid after. Our healthy eating has our bodies no longer immune to the chemicals that are so prominent in most commercial foods. We purchased a…
  • Your doing great and looking awesome. Well done! The last pounds are the hardest to lose, I read this a while back and it explains why. I hope this helps you to understand why, and keep doing what your doing, it's working great. Thanks for sharing the pictures, they are very motivational.…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo I read this quite some time ago, when I was faced with the same question. I know it differs with our opinion, and I do respect your thoughts, however, to make a good decission we need as much information as posible for…
  • Yes, MFP figures it out for you to lose your goal weight if you stay at or just under your daily calories. The more you burn, the more you get to eat... ;)
  • As a result of a back injury, I'm kind of limited to low impact exercise, or was until I dropped some weight and built up some supportive muscle. My wife and I purchased Danskin exercise balls, and followed their routine, starting out with the lower impact workout and then added to it. We did great on it, built up core…
  • I agree! We learn best by visual, after all. I also have noticed that I, like so many others, see the loss in others, but not in myself. Using something, butter, burger, sugar, anything that helps to "see" how much is gone, is a great idea. I may not see much difference in myself, but I know I can't ignore 140 sticks of…
  • OK so it's cute verses hot. What is "hot"? From most of the males I've known, hot is just female with a dynamite body. It starts about the knees and ends at about shoulder level. Cute, now, on the other hand, is what a female looks like. Most of my male companions longed to find a hot lady who was also cute. Now, let me…
  • Don't torture yourself. Nobody says you can't enjoy foods like cookies, you just have to enjoy in moderation. Measure out two or three, healthy sized cookies for yourself, and then sit back and enjoy them after you finish baking the rest.
  • Nope, I look at the inspirations here in MFP, the before and during/after. These posts always get me positive and excited, seeing how well others have done here, and how much of a change there is. I tend not to see it in myself, but when I see another person who lost and see how different they look in their photographs, I…
  • Why do people say that fat weighs less than muscle? They are referring to volume; the quanity of fat at a pound is a whole lot more that the quanity of muscle. It takes more fat to make a pound than muscle. Keep making muscle because it takes more calories to keep that muscle going (even at rest).
  • O-be-fat-can-O-be both O's are long, like the Star Wars guy...
  • You may be added some muscle mass to your thighs even as some of the fat tissue burns off, resulting in no change in size. That won't last long, and as the fat dissolves away, you're going to find some nice, sexy, toned muscle there.
  • I would say that you will still lose. However, if much of our daily intake is in the form of simple sugars, your going to have other deficiencies and that could result in other health problems.
  • Try the Calorie Counter at http://calorielab.com/burned/ and you can find how many you burned. And remember, the longer you make it last, the better the burn and the pleasure...
  • Sounds like a good sister, a real keeper... (chuckling). A little at a time is a great way to go, even when you suffer an occasional setback. It's about relearning, so gradual is the best way. I believe we all have our times when we don't want to deal with it, and I'm sure most of us slip a time or more. It's one of the…
  • I'm interested in what you find out, as we (my wife and I) use an exercise ball for part of our workout, too. Right now we have broken down the individual activities and found an approximate calorie burn to use, but it's just an average of the various activities and it would be nice to have something to compare to. I will…
