  • That's soo awesome, congrats. How long did it take you to lose the 40lbs?
  • Oh my god, that is soo awesome, way to go. 90 lbs gone. Good job. I'm hoping to lose at least 100lbs
  • I cheat on the weekends. I do still have small portions of my food and I try not to have too much junky foods. But, my official treat/cheat day is Fridays. I usually get pop, chips and a bar and that will be all I'll have junk food wise. I've tried restricting myself from certain foods, but then I just crave it more, so I…
  • Why are the amounts different for Canada and the US, that is soo stupid. If I eat KD here in Canada, and you eat it in the US it should be the exact same thing for the nutritional information.:grumble:
  • yayyyyy, That's awesome. I got toned enough back a while ago, that I could take off my jeans without undoing them. I gained it all back cause I stopped working out and eating well, but I'm back on the wagon again now. Great job
  • In case anyone hasn't taken a Zumba class or would like to in their own home there is a DVD rip on www.mininova.org it's called Zumba Cardio Party. You will need a torrent program to download it. I use Utorrent. Enjoy

  • Well If I have exercised that day and burnt so many calories, I allow myself to eat as much as I want, but there were times when I went to bed and still had a few 100 calories left that I could have consumed. I look at it like this: I am allowed to consume X amount of calories. So if I work out I'm allowed alot more…
  • Well there is water in soups, so that should count for something. Water in any form is better than none at all, so don't sweat it and drink your soup.
  • I've played DDR with my friend, and I could barely do it, what a work out and that isn't in in workout mode. I'd love to get it for myself for those bad weather days or when I just don't feel up to going to the gym.
  • I think I've lost a bit in my feet too, my shoes aren't so tight anymore. I'm sure the rest of you will follow suit. i'd like to lose it in my cankles (calfs/ankles) so I can wear high boots. Lol Keep up the good work!
  • Tell me about it, I totally agree with you. There are some days I don't even log. I'm getting back into the swing of things now. Since Christmas rolled around I pretty much slacked off. I figure if I can't go to the gym or workout or what have you then I'm not going to keep track of waht I'm eating either. But I started…
  • I am a member of a co-ed gym and I don't notice anyone looking at me and a lot of the time I'm one of the biggest one there. You just need to keep in mind that just because you aren't the size of them doesn't mean they are looking down on you. That thin girl to the left might have once been your size, if not bigger.…
  • Sounds yummy, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out the cal counts on it.
  • I noticed a change in my photos as well. I wasn't wearing the same thing, but I could see my face was a bit slimmer. Good idea though. Especially wearing the same outfit will make you realize just how much weight you have lost because the clothes will look bigger and baggier on you.
  • OMG Loretta_Jo, 171 lbs. If i may ask how long did it take you to lose that much. That gives me new found hope that it is possible to lose a lot of weight over time. I was 253 at my highest and I'm hoping to get down to 150 at least. So I have a bit over a 100 lbs to lose, I know it will take time and effort and I am…
  • Thanks Mike, great addition to the site. :flowerforyou:
  • Congrats that's great.

  • I used a Rice Krispie Square recipe and substituted Quaker Corn Bran Squares and added some raisins and it was really delicious. I have also made it with Raisin Bran Crunch. I'm not one for eating a bowl of cereal with milk because I don't like it when it goes soggy. So this way I'm still getting the health benefits of the…
  • Requested Recipe -- Mayonnaise FoodReference.com I would like to make my own mayonnaise at home so I can add various flavors and herbs. Is it worth doing this, and how long will it keep in the refrigerator? Which would be best: made in a blender or food processor? Should it be stored in sterilized jars? Any recipes?…
  • Congrats, that is wonderful news. I need to go through my old clothes and find something in a smaller size so I have a goal. I hope to get down to an X-Large, thats my first goal. I'm in 3X at the moment. I have a pair of PJs I got from my uncle for Christmas and they are soo nice and comfy looking, but they don't fit. So…
  • OMG, you are not dumb, you are smart to do something about it, rather then gain more weight. I'm sad to say I weigh more now then I did when I was 9 mths pregnant on my son and that was 9 years ago. I let myself get to this state and even though the weight is slowly coming off I am not being down on myself. Everyone would…
  • ahertel0214, congrats on quitting smoking. I'm sure that was one of the hardest things to do. As long as you take everything in stride. Just try to commit to one thing at a time and don't be too hard on yourself if you can't be perfect at all of it all the time. I have had my times when I went a bit off my cal intake, with…
  • That is a good idea, thanks. I might use that.
  • I'm doing great on the calorie part, but most days I'm way over on the sodium. How can I get that lower?
  • I never try to eat all my calories. Very rarely I go over, but most days I go to bed wtih a few hundred left. One day I did so much exercise that I had 2,000 left. I just see it as more weight lost. I don't feel hungry of fatigued so as long as I feel fine I'm gonna do it that way.
  • Welcome Alice, glad you found this site. I'm sure it will work for you. Stay positive and keep trying.

  • I always try to eat less than my allowance of calories per day, especially if I haven't exercised that day. But if a snickers bar is within your calorie intake amount then why not have it. I try to stick within my amount of calories even on my cheat day when I have chips, bar and pop. In the grand scheme of things, if you…
  • julieofthewolves, congrats on the weightloss. I said the same thing about 250 lbs. But I ended up going up to 253. I also said I'm not getting up to 300 lbs I don't care, so now I'm now happy to say that I am 244 lbs. Keep up the good work. I know I sure will. I can't wait to be able to cross my legs again. lol
  • I have a cheat day. It's Fridays. I try to keep within my allowable calorie intake even on those days. I love junk food, chips, candies, bars, cola, you name it I love it. So I allow myself on Fridays to have a small bag of chips, a can of pop and a bar. Sometimes I go a bit overboard if I am having a friend over I buy a 2…
