  • No pics. but, amc, I'm near Ames! Just finished an hour of shoveling, after my DH did some with the snow blower! It's gonna be a long winter :noway:
  • Congratulations :flowerforyou:
  • Keep encouraging and pushing us, Craig. I put off Yoga, so how will I ever get better? I think one of my issues is that it is just so long! I have been known to break it up. That seems to work better for my schedule. I did follow through with my morning plan. I came home and did KenpoX with the gloves. I get frustrated…
  • Midwesterners- I do believe we are in for a LONG winter! I second Kati's wishes for safety and warmth during this storm. :flowerforyou: I hope we don't have people without power due to ice. What a mess! We were supposed to head to the Twin Cities tomorrow night. We'll see! :ohwell:
  • Add my prayers too! How very scary! :flowerforyou:
  • Central Iowa and a teacher too! We also got out at 1:00. It was beautiful then, so I couldn't figure it out either. We hurried and wrapped parent gifts and I passed out my students' gifts in anticipation of a snow day tomorrow. It was supposed to be our last day before Winter Break. The ice started here around 8:00. Six…
  • We always got an apple, orange, and nuts too. But to understand the orange, you should read Frankie's Oranges, a children's book by Patricia Polacco (sp). I LOVE that book!!! (even though it makes me cry!)
  • Kak: I agree with the yoga. I'm not a super fan, yet! And wait till you try Core Synergetics. HOLY COW!! I have tended to do some of my old favorite standbys during recovery weeks (like running :smokin: ). I'm sure that is not what I'm supposed to do, but I like it! TOtally overslept yesterday, and spent the evening…
  • The ladies on the Proud thread! They inspire and encourage everyday!!:flowerforyou: :smooched: :flowerforyou: Jess-for getting me started on P90X
  • We had this for supper last night and leftovers tonight: YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!
  • Thanks for all the great ideas! I did pick up a book for each of them: Twilight for the 13 YO and Paula Dean's First Cookbook for the 8 YO aspiring TV cooking show host
  • As long as all these creative gift ideas are flying around, what do you all stuff the stockings with? We have boring stuff: toothbrush, hair things, nail polish, candy, gum. Any fun ideas?
  • The P90X videos are all closer to 1 hour; 52-58 minutes is typical for the weight days, plus 16 minutes of AbRipper X. The YogaX video is 90 minutes.
  • I am so not a morning person, but my entire day goes much better when I get up and do my workout! Not to say some days, I don't oversleep, but 90% of the time my WO are in the morning. You can do it! It takes, what, 21 time of doing something to make it a habit.
  • Craig: Enjoy TJ Cardio Party 3; I love that one! I did Plyo today. It isa tough one!! Best calorie burner after running for me.
  • Me too! Me too! (Should rent this next week, or earlier in case I'm iced in!) I love the memories I have surrounding "It's a Wonderful Life" more than the movie itself.
  • Bumping this because I'm trying it tomorrow night!
  • Finally getting back into a rhythm. Up at my regular time and got in Chest and Back today. Plyo tomorrow!
  • Can't wait to hear about it !!!!!!
  • You look wonderful!!! You should be so proud
  • Anderson: What a wonderful way to get in a workout! We are experiencing very cold temps and wind, so a hike outdoors wouldn't work, but it sounds great!!! Your hike in Feb. sounds challenging and exciting. I see your need for the strength workouts. I have been terrible about logging my food this weekend: we've eaten out…
  • Lobsterchick: You CAN do this! I agree with so many of the other wise posters before me. One step and one day at a time. Remember too, this is more than about being, thin. There is health and fitness. Focus on the feel of the contours of your muscles as you strenghten your body. And the long-distance thing stinks. Remember…
  • I had my annual Christmas shopping and dinner date with 2 friends Friday night. I got home around 11:45 and my 13 yo DD and her friend were very chatty, so I visited with them until 1:00 a.m. I am too old for that!!!:noway: So, I overslept and then hit the ground running with basketball, a swing choir performance, working…
  • I'll be praying also; for Zach and you also.
  • Well, I'm another small busted gal, and if I wasn't so nervous about other people's reactions, I'd buy some girls! And a C would be good for me. But it is perspective-you're used to a larger size. Having always been an A (lucky to be a full B when nursing:ohwell: ), a C would seem big for me. I'm thinking that as you lose…
  • You made me laugh out loud, Nicky! I was thinking the same thing!
  • Wiping my keyboard with Clorox wipes  Thanks for the warm thoughts, Taxi! I feel normal today, and it is WONDERFUL!
  • Teena: I'm butting in here, but I wanted to thank you for a tip I read that you posted somewhere. I added my weighted gloves to Kenpo today. Awesome! 60 calorie boost and just felt more intense! Loved it!
  • Kak: It depends on the week, for rest days. Some weeks I do have a total rest day-from working out. Other weeks, I fill in with a run or TJ video.
  • Embarrassing question: I do NOT drink even a sip before a run. I empty my bladder as completely as I can before taking off. I try to find bathroom breaks at certain points in my run. And if I run in the afternoon, I have had to wear a depends pad  :ohwell: :blushing:
