[/quote] Sorry if this hijacks the thread, but I'm curious how often you CrossFit and run each week and how you did in the half marathon? I do CrossFit 2-3 times a week plus other strength/circuit training with some cardio. I am planning to do my first half in May - and I know I need to get more miles in each week to be…

I will have to try cocoa powder tomorrow! Yesterday I added a dash of cinnamon, it is growing on me.

I believe calories in/calories out is key to weight loss but since eating paleo, especially after completing the 21 day sugar detox, I feel now that I am much more aware of my body's hunger signals and I follow them accordingly. It feels almost impossible to overeat. I've only been hard core paleo since Jan 1 and am slowly…

I feel your pain! I have been eating paleo and crossfitting for about 9 months. I have serious runner's guilt! I recently ran the Disney World 1/2 marathon. My crossfit coach keeps telling me I need to quit running but I love it and I'm not ready to give it up. Also, I've read on many paleo websites that running will…

I just tried it this morning. I was skeptical but it was actually pretty good. It was a little greasy, but i used I coconut oil and kerry gold. It is so filling that I had trouble even finishing my 12 oz cup! Curious to see how I will feel today. For the people who drink it daily, is that your breakfast for the day? When…

I couldn't agree more, when I started I thought I would not be able to live without CoffeMate in my coffee. A few weeks ago I bought some as a "treat" and we ended up throwing it away. I love black coffee now.

Here is an interesting article on fasting that is specifically geared toward women: http://www.paleoforwomen.com/shattering-the-myth-of-fasting-for-women-a-review-of-female-specific-responses-to-fasting-in-the-literature/

I am trying to overcome my "breakfast mentality" but I can't quit seem to shake it. Thankfully I can do eggs but I am trying to be more open to other options and leftovers. Baby steps I guess.

I'm on day 5 and the only thing that is really killing me is fruit. I wanted to steal berries out of someone else's cart at Costco! I miss my fruit!!!!!

I was hard core paleo about 3-4 weeks prior to my last annual physical and my cholesterol was in the normal range for the first time in 15 years. My total cholesterol was down 43 points from the previous year and 68 points from my all time high.

What about tea? I recently discovered Tevana loose leaf tea. They have a lot of amazing flavors that make great ice or hot tea.

Got it! Thanks for the tip!

Yes, I am doing level 3. I did last March and loved the way I felt! I fell off the wagon over the last few months an am looking to jump start my return to a paleo lifestyle. How is everyone doing so far? I've been a little sluggish and had a bit of a headache but that seems to be normal for me around day 3.

My 2013 goals: 1. Complete 21 Day sugar Detox 2. Finish January eating clean 3. Prep meals weekly (i.e. Sunday meal prep and making sure I have meat down for meals) 4. Complete Disney Coast to Coast Challenge (2 1/2 marathons) 5. Start really leaving everything on the gym floor. I have a tendency to hold back because I am…

Hello! My name is Sharon. I did the 21 Day Sugar Detox last March and loved it (after the carb/sugar cravings subsided). I've been maybe 75-80% paleo since then but I need to get back on track. Looking forward to feeling great and dropping some lbs in the process. :-)

I've been using coconut aminos in my crockpot and the meat is amazing!

Wow! Great results!!! Are you following a primal type workout plan as well?

Found this artical today. Makes a pretty good case for low carb/higher fat. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/07/07/magazine/what-if-it-s-all-been-a-big-fat-lie.html

I'm also giving Paleo a try during December. I'm loosely following Robb Wolf's book. I know eating eggs every morning is discouraged but I have trouble with eating meat in the morning (it is mental, I know). Any breakfast suggestions??? I've seen several recipes for Paleo friendly muffins, maybe I will give them a try.
