Very inspirational photo's & you look great!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I hated to admit it too, I can't drink and lose weight as quickly. Even if I "save" calories for alcohol my body just doesn't respond as well. Like a previous poster said it is a toxin so your body tries to metabolize it first. So I personally really have had to limit my consumption to the weekend or special…

I think only you can gauge how you feel as far as what time is enough between the two. I personally ran my first half marathon, and got bit by the marathon bug! I ran my first half in October--had some ankle issues so I gave myself light run time through that holiday season. Then by spring I couldn't wait any longer to do…

bump! what a great idea!!

Thank you that's very helpful, I will!

You crack me up! Great outlook on life chicky! BTW- You look great!

You definitely need to eat at least your base calories or your body will go into starvation mode! I typically eat half my exercise calories back too. It will take you time to figure out what your body ultimately needs. But in the process please up your calories to at least 1,200!

Don't fall into the "all or nothing mentality". There will be days you have the nachos & the cake. But those are the days you need to exercise & have moderation at other meals! Just because you had some bad days doesn't mean you can't still be successful. The sheer fact you are on here means you want to do something good…

I love your pictures and ideas! Thank you for sharing. I eat 5-6 times a day too so they are perfect for me as well :)

You look like a different person! Great job, congrats to you on all your hard work and dedication!!!
-
-Results take time -Be patient and persistent -Take your measurements/photos once a month -Celebrate your accomplishments along the way -Be kind to yourself, you are after all trying to do something good for YOU!!!
-
So proud of you! You did it!!!!!!!
-
You must remember "the race in long & in the end it is only with yourself"! Running that marathon is going to take you places physically and mentally you have never dreamed you could go. You will get through each dark spot and come out stronger for it! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Gina- YOU ARE GOING TO DO GREAT!!!!!!! Do not focus on time, just focus on finishing! You can do this, you've done the training, now enjoy the journey :)
-
You look AMAZING!! And years younger, GREAT JOB!
-
My first was 36 minutes so you've got me beat!! Good luck to you. Try not to focus on the time for your first race though, just enjoy the experience of what you're doing. It's a great accomplishment!

I had to eat about 50--75% of my calories back or I would have absolutely no energy! It's important that when you start logging those long hours of training that you listen to what your body is telling you. If you are hungry for carbs & protein-- it's because you need them. You will still drop weight regardless, if nothing…

I'm a big fan! I make those things with them & also tacos, mexican pizza's, enchilada's. Basically anything you need to wrap. One time found a recipe to cut them in strips and coat with cooking spray & bake in the oven to make chips~~that I don't recommend unless you enjoy eating cardboard....actually cardboard may have…

difference is very noticable! GREAT WORK!! Keep it up!

Girl I totally hear you! I'm training for my first marathon & this weather just SUCKS! I have a treadmill to do my shorter runs, but I'm sorry there is no way to do long weekend runs on that damn thing. So here's what I do in the south carolina summer heat -If you can get outside before the sun comes up, I mean early like…

You can definitely tell the difference!!!!!! Keep up the great work!

I have quiet a DVD collection for these hot months as well. My go to faves are: Tae-Bo, Turbo Jam Beach Body, Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred. All of which can be purchases ~10 bucks at Target or Walmart & use very minimal equipment--just a set of hand weights. Hope you find some you like!!

Good article for any female runner, seasoned or new!!

This happened to me about 3 months ago too. I think it's because you added the strength training & the cardio we do now is harder due to our fitness levels increasing. Bottom line we must listen to our bodies. I uped my calories to 1400 and the next week I started slowly losing again! I guess I was starving for real!!

At the end of the day the only person you can ever hold yoruself accountable for is you....that being said I know it's hard when you are trying to help a friend. It sounds to me though that you have really done everything to help her succeed. At this point I would just back off. I'm guessing she's going to see all the…

Oh I hear ya on this one! As a Atkins alum who put that 60 easily lost pounds right back on during pregnancy #1 with the help of Mr. Krispy Kreme & his delightful hot "forbidden" carbs I felt like I was committing a crime eating carbs! It took me being preggers to realize my body needed good carbs as fuel. However I went…

I too am a weekend binger.........I pledge along with you all to do better & stop derailing all my hard weekday work! The only people we are cheating is ourselves. We can do this! :flowerforyou:
