I followed somebody's link on the main forums to this group, so planting the seed does help. I lurked and read stuff for a couple weeks before just diving in, toyed with slightly increasing calories for a bit as I read. Between my dieting last year and this year, I had a combined total of 7 months or so, only losing the…

My significant other is the same way. I had been dieting at the 1000 - 1200 mark for months without losing a damn thing, and he insists, even now, that I must be cheating and the way you lose weight is to "just eat less food"! I told him I was upp'ing my calories to 1900 and he pretty much thinks I'm nuts and not dedicated…

you look terrific! keep the updates coming

Recommended 2000 cals, my Tdee is around 2200, i set my cut to 1900
-
good luck!

good suggestion, going to try that too. i usually get close to 30, but have to use a supplement on occassion but would much prefer to get it naturally

grats!! is there a way to measure your body fat % if your gym doesnt offer it?
-
congratlations :) I love reading success stories. I hope i have the same results. I've been stuck in a plateau for months and really want to finally break it.
-
i was working out mostly at home, but decided to join a gym to help with changing things up a bit and try to do more strength training
-
congrats! I just started so hopefully in a months time I have some positive news to report as well

LOL I have no advice for you, but I found that very amusing. I did exactly that last fall after eating 1200 calories for 3-4 months and being completely stagnant for 2 of it. When i restarted in March i did 1500 or so a day... scale still didn't budge. Just found this group 2 weeks ago, and am now trying to up my calories…

thanks, ill be watching them all

I don't know how much we need, I get between 7 -8 hrs and I wake up in that time frame regardless of what time I go to sleep. Sucks when I fall asleep early and Im up roaming the house at 4 am

I came across that site the other day. going to check out some of the recipes before my next food shopping trip. on week 2 of p1. lost 4.4 lbs so far, Im pretty happy about it. I have to admit, Im having a hard time getting all those vegetables in a day. 4.5 is a lot!
-
might want to try upping your calories a bit. set it to a half pound a week until you get used to it and the headaches pass. baby steps worked for me.
-
I was pissed off at my scale and went and bought a new one too. Was all excited when I got it home and the darn thing told me I was 3 lbs heavier! LOL I experience fluctuations all day long. A gallon of water weighs just over 8 lbs, so just two cups of water is 1 lb.

saving to try later

Nice job!! I can't wait till i hit the 10 lb mark. Im 3 weeks into it and just hit 2.. so 10 lbs is an achievement for sure!
-
Im only on day 3, you have a week on me :) Im not really missing anything yet. Im spending most of my day stuffed on vegetables. 4.5 cups seems to be quite a bit. I don't think I have ever eaten so many vegetables a day.
-
I'm doing this now.. eating raw (by choice) vegetables with almost every meal. You'd be surprised how full you get if you fill up on them. Im doing phase 1 of south beach and I have to eat 4.5 cups of vegetables minimum. 2 cups of veggies for lunch and dinner. I was so stuffed.

I have bad knees and have only done one week of it so far, I found it to be ok so long as I didn't go deep in the knees. Positioning is also extremely important
-
anybody else doing this?
-
I started yesterday. Now on phase 1 day 2. If anybody else is interested in checking it out, its a low sugar diet, not low carb. I found a forum with the foods lists and decent starting info For the basics: http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26395 For the permitted foods…
-
@adastra - my understanding is that it isn't so much low carb, as it is low sugar. You can eat pretty much unlimited carbs as long as they are the approved vegetables. (no potatoes, peas, rice, bread) The list is quite long of approved vegetables.
-
@wickedcricket - Im planning on gradually adding back my whole grains once I get through phase 1. I've only had 1 day in it so far, so no idea if constipation will be a problem in a few days. Did you do the original SB or the updated one that allows up to 2 cups of fat free milk/yougurt a day? I only had about a half cup…

I just started, however I lost 4 lbs the first week then nothing. I just switched to upping the protein amount I take in each day without altering my calories. I swapped out one of my fruit snacks for nuts and ate an egg for breakfast instead fruit w/ yogurt. I gained a lb at first, but today I finally dropped. The past…

There's some hand held weights in the 30 day shred. I struggle through them since I have a very weak upper body, but I have added them in and trying to get to the point where I can actually do a push up heh

I set it lose 2 lbs per week.
