I will be 47 in just a couple weeks (Yikes!). They say life begins at 50. I plan on beginning that life in shape and at goal! Only about 150# to go.
-
I'm 5'10" and my goal is 170-175. I have a LONG way to go but am almost 60# closer than I was 5 months ago. Good luck. What's your goal?
-
I'm in. I would like to see 10# in January but nothing less than 5#. Good luck everyone.

That would be a big N-O! It's about moderation not deprivation!

Aren't NSV's great. My goal for 2012 is to RUN a 5K. I am starting by walking my first 5k tomorrow. The next time I do the "Resolution Run" in downtown Nashville I will be running (2012).
-
Actually my goal this year is 2#/week so I am looking at 104# gone by 12/31/2012. I can do this!

Protein, protein and more protein. And if you can add some type of healthy fat that's even better.

I had lap band surgery in August of 2011 and don't regret it for a minute. I have lost almost 60# and it has been HARD WORK. But, totally worth it. I'm still learning so we could learn together.

My favorite place to buy bras is Lane Bryant's Cacique. Rignt now they are doing a buy 2 get 2 free. They are good quality and good support.

I wish, maybe then I wouldn't be so tempted. Seriously though, my mom suffers from this. If she even eats a little sugar it can put her over the edge with headaches, nausea, and even fainting. She says it's because her body is not used to processing the sugar.

For me it's all about planning. Planning my food, planning my exercise, planning my over indulgences. It;'s all about moderation not deprivation.

MSW is a Master in Social Work. I see a licensed MSW and she is wonderful. You will know within a couple of meetings if you are going to click. It may take a few appointments even with a few different therapist to find one you click with. Don't give up. I wouldn't trade my therapist for anything in the world. I had to see…

What an amazing job. You are an inspiration! Keep fighting the good fight.

Scale says I gained 2 pounds but I overindulged in sodium so I am sure, after a gallon of water today, tomorrow will be different. Plus I think I sweated about 2 pounds off this morning on the bike.

I was surprised at how quickly you bounce back. Just guzzle water for the next couple days and eat clean and you will be fine. You can do this!

Every time someone says "Girl you are killing it!" and "Sorry, I couldn't help but stare at your butt". Feels great!

Great Job! Keep meeting small goals and the big goals will come. I did meet my goal for 2011 - Have the Lapband surgery and I lost almost 60# to boot. my 1st goal is 299 by Feb 14. 2nd Goal is 280 by May 4 ( 100# lost in the 9 months since surgery).

I'm in. Bought it last week with a new recumbent bike. I'm ready for the new year. Kicking it off next Saturday with my 1st 5k. Wish me luck!

All surgeries have complications. I almost died due to a hernia surgery. Spent 3 days in ICU and a total of 7 days in the hospital. Even was put on Dialysis. When I had my lap band surgery I was up and moving the same day. I have never looked back and never regretted my decision to have the surgery and change my life. The…

Great job. Such a success story. To be able to go on vacation and come back with a weight loss. Keep up the good work!

I had lap band surgery done on Aug 4, 2011 and I wish I had done it sooner. It has been the best thing in the world for me. I had tried every diet, read every book, bought every machine and meal that was suppose to be the end all for weight loss. And there I stood, 380#. I did NOT have to do a 60 day liquid diet. 2 weeks…

I can't eat when I first get up. It's usually coffee only for me. Then about 3 hours later, around 8am, as I am sitting down at my desk I can whip out a carton of cottage cheese or greek yogurt. Go for something with lots of protien. Doesn't have to be breakfast food. Alot of times I will do a low carb tortilla with peanut…

I also gained 5 pounds over the last week and a half. All from bad choices of bad foods and no exercise. Motivation alot of time comes from within. I like to journal and that is usually when I will look back and think......"I felt so good after a trip to the gym" or "wasn't that the bomb when I could get in a smaller…

One Word: Therapist. They really do work. I see one 2 times/month. Wish I could afford to see her more.

Yes, Last year's Christmas party. It didn't help that I was sitting in a booth too small for me and the girl sitting next to me weighs probably 100 pounds soaking wet. I refer to it as my "Jabba the Hut" picture. It is my motivation!

Thanks! Been fighting a plateau for about 2 weeks. This is great info!

Hi! Welcome, I was banded in Aug 2011. This site is amazing. Friend request coming your way.

We must be thinking alike. Last week I set up a savings account for just that. Every time I loose weight I put $5.00 in the account. Everytime I have money left over from my weekly allowance I put it in the account. I figure that by the time I lose my 200# I will have a good start with Plastic Surgery Account.

It's "morally wrong" to throw food of no nutritional value away but it's not morally wrong to stuff it into your body? Isn't that considered abuse?
