  • peanut butter and chocolate
  • This!!! And I can't stress enough the "no regrets" part of it. I used to eat fast food a couple of times a day and I eat it about once a week. That is a healthy lifestyle for me.
  • My guess would be your scales are jacked up. Mine did it somewhere around my second or 3rd week on weigh in day and read something like 14 lbs different from the previous day (I weigh in most days but only record it once a week). I just said screw it, changed the batteries and recorded my weight the next morning.

  • Fantastic post! I wouldn't have phrased it quite the way you did but you described it perfectly!
  • For the record, I love Super Troopers. I watched it under duress and went out and bought a copy of my own on my way home. And I forgot about Hunt for Red October and The Usual Suspects. I need to get out of this thread or I'll be up all night watching dvds:smile:
  • I can't do just one either so... Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade The Fifth Element Evil Dead While You Were Sleeping Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back I Love You Man Wet Hot American Summer A Good Old Fashioned Orgy I don't really think any of those movies are the best of all time but they are some of my favorites.
  • The Sweetest Thing made me laugh so hard I almost passed out the first time I saw it:)
  • Congratulations on your success! You look fantastic!
  • That sounds tasty. I'm going to have to give it a try.
  • Peanut butter fudge is the worst! I had it in the house and Christmas and I couldn't even go near the kitchen without having a piece, or half a piece, or a taste, or licking the empty pan. Okay so that last bit was an exageration but not by much:)
  • My secret is that I don't stress about it. If I have a bad day then I do better the next day. If I'm going out to eat I do some extra exercise to earn my indulgances. If I'm going on vacation I eat what I want and if I put a few pounds on then I take them back off when I get back home. You're never going to see me on here…
  • I totally agree! Peanut butter works wonders for my cravings also.
  • Frozen grapes are awesome!
  • As a general rule, there's always a way around just about anything but not everyone wants to take it. I don't. I don't eat out nearly as frequently as I used to but I still enjoy it every once in a while. If I'm going to fall over dead from eating from a drive thru once every couple of weeks then I guess I'm on borrowed…
  • With pineapple with cinnamon, stevia, and a diced apple with diced cucumber and tomato, salt and pepper with reduced sugar strawberry jam
  • Chances are you're retaining water. Watch your sodium and drink a little extra water and it should go away in a couple of days. In order to truly gain 2 lbs you'd have to have went over by about 7000 calories and that breadstick wouldn't have done that, no matter how much butter was on it:)
  • I tend to worry about myself and try not to judge others. If I see someone eating in a way that I don't really agree with then I don't encourage them but I also don't express my opinion unless asked. However, if someone asks it's on them...
  • So you let loose a little on your birthday, who cares? Hopefully you'll have many more birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgivings or whatever and chances are you'll eat a few things that aren't the healthiest and that's okay. You have to be able to enjoy life even if you're trying to live a healthier one. Do better next time or…
  • How about a slice of peanut butter toast? 1 slice of toast and 1 tbsp of peanut butter should come in at 150ish or less depending on the bread you use.
  • I have it one of 3 ways. If I want it savory, I hit it with a lot of black pepper. If I want it fruity I mix in pineapple. If I want it dessertish I mix in a packed of sweetener (I use Truvia), cinnamon, and a diced apple. That last one is how I usually have it.
  • Yes I do. One meal a week I eat whatever I want and don't worry about it. I usually have another meal at some point where I don't make the healthiest choices but I work it into my calorie budget. It keeps me sane and has nothing to do with being "weak".
  • Basically, yes. I don't track sugar. I eat chocolate in some form or another every day. It works for me. Other people choose to track differently than I do and personally, I'm fine with that. One thing I have noticed on these boards though, is that a lot of people think their way is the only way and are very forceful in…
  • I'm proud of two different things. The first is realizing that I don't have to completely give up the foods I love, I just can't have all of them all the time. The second and probably the most life changing is figuring out that a bad day doesn't need to turn into a bad week, month or year. It's happened. Now if I have a…
  • Try adding a handful of almonds or something similar into your day. My current thing is I add a tablespoon or two of peanut butter to my oatmeal in the mornings. It helps keep me full and I'm not missing out on peanut butter (which is one of my very favorite things).
  • Mine changes frequently. The last one was Lady Gaga's Bad Romance but it has been recently replaced with Alice Cooper's Poison. My tastes are somewhat eclectic:laugh:
  • I've failed on several diets (Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc) and been thoroughly discouraged in the past. It's not fun but this time it seems to be a little different for me. I'm counting calories and I've made a lot of changes to my diet but not all at once and not too dramatic. I'd suggest tracking for a few days what…
  • I like the scale. I can't remember what I paid for mine but I think it was in the $30 to $40 range. If you chose to buy one then be consistent when you weigh yourself. Even if the scale is slightly off as long as you're consistent then it should show your progress. Measuring yourself would also be good if you're into that.…
  • I add a Tbsp of peanut butter to my oatmeal and sprinkle about half a Tbsp of mini chocolate chips on top. Tastes like a warm peanut butter cookie for breakfast and keeps me full. It comes in at around 285 calories. Mix: 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats 1 cup water 1 tsp brown sugar Microwave for 2 min 45 sec Stir in 1 Tbsp…
  • If it's only your third date night in a year then don't worry too much about it. Have what you want within reason, watch your portions, and have fun then get back to your regular routine the next day.
