  • I like mini ice cream sandwiches. Depending on the brand they're like 100ish calories each and pretty yummy. They don't exactly offer a lot of nutritional value but that's not what I look for in a dessert lol
  • A couple of my local grocery stores sell half cakes so there's not nearly as much to eat. You could look for something like that or even get a small package of cupcakes. I think the local bakeries do 6 packs for a reasonable price. You'd have built in portion control that way.
  • Out of curiosity, wouldn't cheerleading practice be considered a workout?
  • If I'm understanding your post correctly, you're eating 1200ish calories a day before all that exercise. If that's the case, you're not eating nearly enough. I think people jump on the "starvation mode" bandwagon way too quickly on this site but if you eat 1200 calories a day and exercise off say 1000 calories a day then…
  • I work at a restaraunt and eat breakfast at around 7 and on a good day I get lunch around 2:30. It kind of sucks. Anyway, I keep easy snacks around. I usually have almonds, an apple, beef jerky, or granola bars stashed somewhere so I can grab a bite if I need it.
  • Zesty! Sante Fe Style Chicken. I like the "Zesty" part. Low calorie foods with a lot of flavor help me to feel like I'm not depriving myself.
  • It happens to me on a regular basis. I went through a container of The Peanut Butter Co.'s Chocolate Dreams in 2 and a half days last week. It basically proved that I don't need any Chocolate Dreams in the house at this point and time. And don't get me started on the peanut butter fudge over the holidays. I couldn't walk…
  • string cheese almonds (I prefer smoked) Fage 0% yogurt (I like the strawberry or blueberry) Special K 90 calorie bars apples bananas
  • Try mixing some cinnamon and sweetener (I use a packet of Truvia/Stevia) into the cottage cheese and then adding a diced up Honey Crisp apple. It's friggin' amazing!
  • I pretty much ignore the protein recommendation from MFP. I've not done a lot of research but most people on the boards seem to agree that it's on the low side and since I go over 3 out of 4 days I've chosen to not worry about it.
  • I use the "white chili 1" recipe from allrecipes.com and it's tasty:)
  • I also go with the idea of being happy with yourself and that the rest will take care of itself eventually. Your size shouldn't dictate whether you can have a relationship or not.
  • I didn't start using an elliptical until I bruised my heel jogging and it totally kicked my *kitten*. I had been jogging 3 or 4 miles 4 days a week and switched to the elliptical and could barely walk after 30 minutes on it so it does take some getting used to:)
  • I quit smoking about 8 years ago and it was motivated by fear lol. I'd been walking for a couple of months and eating a little better and decided to start jogging. It hurt the breathe for 3 days and that was the last time I smoked. One thing I would suggest is to not tell anyone in your life that you're quitting for at…
  • I have whatever it is I've been craving through the week. Today I'd planned on having a cheat/high calorie day and ended up at Five Guys and had a burger and an entire small order of fries topped off with some frozen yogurt. However, unless I miraculously become super hungry I may still end up under my calorie goal for the…
  • Nope. I do my research ahead of time for nutritional information and if I have to guestimate a few things then I do. It's not realistic to weigh everything you eat all the time. Part of this whole healthier lifestyle thing for me is learning how to eat in the real world while maintaining (or at this point still losing)…
  • Congratulations! That's always a good feeling!
  • My advice would to not get so hung up on what the scale says. You could be at a plateau (it happes to just about everyone eventually) or you could be building some muscle. Either way, if your clothes are fitting better and you took the belt in a notch then keep doing what you're doing and you'll eventually get where you…
  • I have oatmeal with a teaspoon of brown sugar and a tablespoon of peanut butter stirred in. It comes out to around 260 calories if I'm remembering correctly.
  • I don't have them often but I always keep a couple in the freezer just in case. I usually have some extra veggies with them and maybe a yogurt or a pudding snack (if I'm feeling like living on the wild side) and they hold me over pretty well. I always have an afternoon and evening snack whether I have something like a Lean…
  • oats peanut butter Healthy Life light english muffins (HL is the only brand I've found that I actually like the taste) tuna salmon boneless, skinless chicken breast brown rice broccoli apples bananas string cheese almonds Those are a few that I can think of right off hand. I tend to get into a groove for a month or two and…
  • I think it depends on how you go about it. I lost 75 lbs about 8 years ago but wasn't all that healthy about it and when I hit my goal I had no idea how to stay there and gained it all back. This time around I'm much more aware of what I eat and I'm eating healthier so I hope I can continue along those lines when I reach…
  • I don't drive through anymore unless I'm travelling but I have a veggie sub from Jimmy John's for lunch 4 or 5 times a week.
  • I was kind of wondering this myself. If you're making changes that you honestly think you can sustain then good for you but it's been my experience that the more extreme the change, the shorter the time that I can sustain it. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
  • I can do my two big ones but not properly. 1. Jump rope - I'm a little on the uncooridinated side and after about the 10th or so time getting tripped up I give up 2. Swim laps - I can swim well enough to not drown but I'd like to have the technical skills to swim laps properly (I may take a few classes and see if I can…
  • For you to gain 4 pounds of actual fat you'd have to eat 14000 calories over your maintenance. Most likely you've got some water retention going on from excess sodium. Personally, I take a day off once a week partly so I can have some of the foods I used to eat all of the time and partly to prove to myself that food…
  • I did and I'm okay with it. I'll take it off and I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday season.
  • Go to the doctor. I don't mean to be rude but that probably should have been your first step rather than asking advice on an internet message board.
  • One day isn't going to hurt you. I wouldn't stuff myself just to be stuffing myself but if you're hungry eat. If you wake up in the morning ravenous have a good breakfast. I wouldn't make a habit of it though.
