I'm having marinated grilled pork chops, steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries. I'm not a cabbage person so I'm making some turkey chili for tomorrow so if I'm hungry later on I'll have a bowl of that for an evening snack. The marinade I use is really simple; 2 parts olive oil, 2 parts vinegar, 1 part adobo seasoning…

I used to weigh myself every day but now I'm down the 3 or 4 times a week. Babysteps lol.

I'll let you in on a little secret, I put on 12 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. My 40th birthday was right in the middle there which included a trip out of town to visit friends. I ate everything that didn't move out of the way. I kept up the exercise but my food was way out of control and that's okay. I'm back at…

Two of my favorites are tuna melts and sweet and spicy salmon. Tuna melt 1 5 oz can tuna 1.5 tbs light mayo 2 tbs reduced fat shredded cheddar cheese 1 light english muffin Preheat the oven to 350. Split the muffin in half and toast while oven preheats. Drain the tuna and stir in mayo along with salt and pepper to taste.…

I aim for at least 600 and I eat most of them back.

I do a lot of walking Monday through Friday for work and I reflect that through my activity level setting not through logging exercise. The only time I log exercise is when I actually go do something (walking, jogging, etc.) but that's just me. Others will have different opinions but ultimately I'm sort of lazy so I don't…

December wasn't exactly my finest month but yes I've stuck with it. As for the burning calories portion, I always burn more than I committed to originally and I eat most of my exercise calories back.

I follow the goals MFP set for me when I signed up and they've worked for me.

A bad meal, day or even week doesn't have to end your weight loss journey. If it happens then so be it. Take a couple of deep breaths and get back on track.

This was a great post, Worldhurdler! I gained closer to 10 lbs over the holiday season which included birthday right smack between Thanksgiving and Christmas and you know what? I'm okay with that. I'm back to my normal routine and the weight will come back off. There was a time when something like this would have sent me…

Green Pepper Chicken 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 2 green peppers, chopped 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce Place the chicken and peppers in a pan and pour the soy sauce over it. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sometimes I substitute an onion for one of the peppers or add some pineapple. I almost always serve it…

2 or 3 times a week

I'm having a little bit of a sugar craving but it's not too bad. Good luck getting back on track.

Before last week I would have said nothing and that I eat what I want when I want it within moderation. That was before my mother made a couple batches of peanut butter fudge and I mainlined it for 3 days straight. It wasn't pretty.

Well said! I've maintained all along that weight loss is a balancing act and what works for me may not work for someone else. I truly believe that and no one is going to convince me otherwise:)

I'm not weighing myself until January 2nd. I never weigh myself on the weekends and I want to give myself this week to get back on track and drop any lingering water weight. I don't doubt I've gained a few lbs (I had the trifecta of Thanksgiving, my 40th, and Christmas) but that's okay. I had a good time and now I'm…

I would suggest getting a healthy college cookbook. The recipes are usually quick and simple. If you're iffy about trying one then check your local library and see what they have available.
-
I like to smear a little peanut butter on them and then top with some sliced banana.
-
I didn't read through the posts but all I have to say is speak for yourself. I ease up one weekends but still exercise and usually have at least one meal where I eat whatever I want without any remorse period and I've lost 60 lbs in 7 months. I can't speak for anyone else but they work for me.

I've come to the conclusion that I have absolutely no self control with all of this holiday food around. I've sort of given up. It'll be over in 3 days, I'm still exercising and eating healthier but things like peanut butter fudge and Christmas cookies are evil. I'm not going to beat myself up but on the morning of the…

Interesting topic. I do agree to some extent with the earlier poster about not offering up any solutions. You've obviously put some thought into it so what are your opinions on what should be done? Personally, I agree that it starts with education. My mother recently had a quadruple bypass, is now seeing a dietician among…

We're doing the traditional ham/turkey/mashed potatoes thing at my dad's. I'll be bring snacks for before dinner since we always end up eating about an hour and a half late because my step sister is never on time. I think I'll be making sausage balls and either a cheeseball or some sort of dip. I'm not planning on showing…

I try to keep it pretty much equal. There are things I'm more comfortable discussing with people in real life and things I'm more comfortable discussing here but that's not really any different than I am with my real life friends. My best friend gets it all and depending on who you are and what kind of friends we are will…

Even though I still have a few pounds to go I like the way I look both in and out of clothes much better now that I'm strength training. Also, I like to eat so I'd rather do some exercise to both earn a few more calories and generally look better.
-
I'm going to eat it all and then maybe go back for seconds. The day after I'll go back to my regular routine and if I have to do some damage control the so be it. Holiday meals are rare so I'm going to enjoy them. I just wish I could get Thanksgiving moved to the middle of the Summer so they'd be spaced out a little more…

One of those 16 and Pregnant girls works at my dentist's office lol. I think her name is Leah or something like that.

Castle The Vampire Diaries NCIS Happy Endings Terra Nova The Walking Dead Man Up (RIP) Castle is truly my favorite. The rest are in no particular order. Oh, and I love me some Snapped when they have a marathon lol

Depending on my mood it'll change but right now I'd have to say lobster bisque, crawfish etouffee and the biggest hot fudge brownie sundae I could find.

I lost 24 lbs in 4 weeks when I started but I was technically 90 lbs overweight and I wasn't eating nearly enough. I was much happier once I relaxed and started eating more and losing at a healther pace. From what I can tell from your picture you don't really look like you have that much weight to lose and in my experience…
