Realizing that I can still have all the foods I love, I just can't have all of them all the time.

You'd have to eat 7000 calories over your weekly maintenance to gain 2 actual pounds. Most likely you're retaining a bit of water. Keep on track and it'll go away.
-
Not likely. I may quick add about 4000 calories and be done with it or I may not even pretend. We'll see:)

How many 1st birthday parties will your daughter have? I say eat a small slice of cake and enjoy yourself. Part of the whole weight loss journey for me is learning how to eat in my daily life and for me anyway, it's extremely unrealistic for me to expect to never have a piece of cake again. Have fun at the party!

I've cut back on my dairy intake but I'm not going to give it up. As a matter of fact, I'm not going to give anything up completely. That would pretty much guarantee that I set around thinking about whatever I was giving up all of the time.

It's happened to me once. Basically, I made drastic changes to my diet that I couldn't sustain. I hit my goal and immediately started eating the way that got me fat in the first place and I got fat again.

My current favorite breakfast is Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Oatmeal. It's filling helps curb my sweet tooth in the mornings. 1/2 old fashioned oats 1 cup water 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tbsp peanut butter 1/2 tbsp mini chocolate chips Mix the oats, water and brown sugar in a large bowl and microwave for 2 minutes 45 seconds…

If you've gotten smaller why do you care what the scale says? Would you rather be healthy and weigh a little more due to lean muscle mass or be skinny and unhealthy but weigh the arbitrary number that you've decided you want to weigh?
-
The problem I have with that mindset is that if you keep your calories very low until you get where you want to be and then you just jump back into a much higher calorie diet you will start to gain weight again. I've done it and it wasn't pretty. A few years ago I lost 75 lbs and when I got to my goal I just sort of fell…

Ding Ding Ding!!! We have a winner!

I freely admit I overeat on weekends but logging it all helps me to feel more accountable for what I eat and keeps things within reason most of the time. Good luck!

If you take a free day and go a little overboard you will see a difference in the scale but it'll be mostly water weight. If you think you can take a free day and not totally derail yourself or stay off the scales long enough to rid yourself of the water weight, then do it. As an earlier poster said, in order to gain 2…

How much water do you use?

I'm not really answering the "healthiest" question but I have another one for you:) How often do you and your boyfriend get a night out? If it's a treat and relatively rare then relax and eat what you want but watch your portions. Don't let worrying about food ruin your night. It's not worth it. You can't do that much…

I eat pretty much what I want one day a week and haven't seen any negative effects.

Apples Bananas Oats Peanut Butter Egg Beater (or the store brand equivalent) Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese Multi-grain english muffins Canned Tuna Chicken Tenders Salmon Frozen Broccoli Brown Rice Green Peppers Onions Zucchini Mini Chocolate Chips Some sort of protein/granola bar Almonds Yogurt

At McDonald's I get a Bacon Ranch Salad w/grilled chicken when I'm inside. When I'm travelling and driving through then I have a snack wrap and a fruit and yogurt parfait.

I'm a fan of oatmeal with a tablespoon of peanut butter (and a teaspoon of brown sugar) stirred into it for breakfast. I tend to keep bananas and apples around for snacks. I never buy salad stuff because it always goes bad before I finish it. I do buy a lot of frozen broccoli (I like the steam in the bag stuff from Wal…

I do look at diaries that are open btw, but I don't "good job" them if they're hugely over or under.
-
I don't hold anyone accountable unless asked. I figure if they're honestly logging what they've eaten then that's a step in the right direction. My diary is open and some days I make good choices and somedays I make not so good choices and if any of my friends were to get too pushy about it then they wouldn't be my…

I look at MFP as a tool that I'm using to support a healthier lifestyle. For me, part of a healthier lifestyle involves me being aware of what I eat so even if it's not MFP I will always keep some sort of food journal.

It's your first cruise! Get some exercise and eat what you want within moderation. If you're up a few pounds when you get back then you take those pounds off when you get back. Don't let food anxiety ruin your trip.

Whenevery I adjust my settings to where I'm eating more, I sometimes see a small gain for a few days. There is that whole unpleasant to talk about bit with your body having more waste to eliminate...However, after a few days everything for me goes back to normal and I continue to lose weight at a slightly reduced rate.
-
That's impressive!

I'm going to stick to my normal diet most of the time. However, I have 2 birthday parties (both for me, the whole turning 40 thing) and 3 seperate family Christmas parties and I'm going to eat whatever I feel like at them. There are loads of reasonably healthy people out there that gain a few pounds over the holidays and…

I like the various pizza types. I usually keep a few in the freezer for those weeknight pizza cravings. On weekends if I want it bad enough I have the high test stuff:)

I've never met a carb I didn't like. Currently, I've never met a carb I didn't like in moderation:wink:

This!! One bad meal, day or even weekend doesn't have to ruin it for you! Things happen. That's life. You prepare for it as best you can and then make the best choices you can at any given time. When I started, I sat down and preplanned everything up to doing some research on nutrition information at 2 or 3 fast food…

Mine is to wear a large shirt (which I now do) and have a 36" waist. I'm currently wearing a 38 so I'm almost there. My holiday goal is to weigh the same on January 1st as I did on December 1st. We'll see how that goes lol.
