I lost my first 20lbs by cutting out the soda. It had become my only liquid intake. I haven't had one in over a year.

I actually enjoy the door to door religious salesman. Nothing better than sitting down on the patio with a couple of 18yr old Mormons and explaining the facts of life to them. They are running for the hills in about 5 or 10 minutes, and don't come back

I am in the best shape of my life. Bmi of 22. Blood pressure 110/60. Cycled 2600miles so far this year. All friends and family seem to focus on is that I am too thin. Nobody said much of anything when I weighed 305lbs. I have totally changed my health for the better, but you would never know it from all the negative…

Thank you. Should be a good change from my exercise bike. Going to order one soon

MFP has been the best tool i have found for losing weight and getting healthy.. one day, one meal at a time. I lost a majority of my weight with walking as my main exercise. Log everyday exercise, and most importantly stick with it. You will lose weight

I have not had a drink in over 10 years. I never truly developed a taste for it and did not like the out of control feeling of being drunk. Good luck with your new found sobriety.

Funny thing is nobody made fun of me when I was overweight. I get called Jefferexic stick man, bony etc now that am thin.

I weigh twice a day as a constant reminder that I am NEVER gaining my weight back. I know its somewhat obsessive but hey it works for me.

crazy. i just crossed 2500 on my bike and thought i was doing good. congratulations

Your welcome. I lost a lot of my weight with walking as my main form of exercise. You don't have to kill yourself to get benefit from exercise. I started walking about 30 to 45 minutes 4 days a week. And just kept going a little farther every week. I worked up to about 20 miles a week. Then I took up cycling in March 2450…

I used to have sleep apnea. My wife said I sounded like I was dying every night. Since i have lost weight it just went away. No more nights on the couch :-) Regular exercise has been a cure all for me. If I have a bad day' an hour on my bike works wonders. I used to work 3pm to 11pm and would stay up late also. Getting…

Mindless munching. I try to keep carrots or cauliflower on hand for these situations

Thanks. This is my first year of dedicated cycling and I want to ride as long as possible to complete my 3000 mile goal

Consistently log your food, run a calorie deficit. I walked to lose a majority of my weight. You don't have to workout like a Athlete to be beneficial. You might get an exercise bike or elliptical if you can afford it.
-
Absolutely. During my weight loss journey i had many plateaus. Keep with the program log faithfully, exercise and you will be successful. Do not get discouraged :-)

300 calories one day is not going to sink the boat. Stick with the program, log all your food and exercise. My workouts usually give me an extra 800 to 1300 calories to eat.

Intense exercise isn't necessary to lose weight. I lost a majority of my weight walking.

In my 400+ days on MFP I can honestly say I have gone over my calorie goal maybe 10 times. I feel that planned cheat days would probably turn into cheat weekends and more. It's all about lifestyle change, not just diet. Portion control is the key for me..Also structuringating and exercise important for me also. Your going…

Started cycling in April. Have logged 2430 miles so far. My goal is 3000. Unfortunately central Illinois weather is not going to cooperate much longer. I've started collecting cold weather gear. I bought a nice exercise bike but I haven't been counting that in my totals. Guess if I am going to do it, I will be freezing my…

I took up cycling as my main exercise in March. I decided to go with a recumbent exercise bike for winter. The heavy flywheel and built in heart rate monitor appealed to me. Go to a large bike shop and they should be able to help you out. Also go to a store selling exercise equipment and try out the stationary bikes, both…

Thanks. I think a week will probably do. Its been three days and the weather has been awesome. I'm missing my 1000,calorie rides. I guess part of the discipline of regular exercise is regular rest

Yeah its weird. Someone asked a friend of mine who that skinny guy was. It was me.

They call me Jefferexic. I am in the best shape ever. Ignore these people. Usually it comes from people choosing not to live a healthy lifestyle.

It's absolutely normal for your weight to fluctuate. Morning to evening is usually 2lbs for me. I generally fluctuate 4 or 5 pounds depending on hydration. They recommend weighing once a week, but I weigh everyday. Keep with program log everyday, exercise and you will lose weight.
-
I had somebody just ask me " Why are you still using MFP ? Your not still trying to lose weight are you ?" No I have reached my goal. But I need to keep myself accountable for every bite. If I don't I feel the weight would creep back on. Logging my food has become second nature. I believe a lot of people have eating…

Exercise, Exercise, Exercise, then more Exercise :-)

I have heard the exact same comments. They call me Skeletor Jefferexic etc. These are people making NO effort to live a healthy lifestyle. I simply reply " Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" giggle and go about my business. :-P

Thank you it has been quite the journey but worth every ounce of sweat. I just smile at the negative people and keep going harder.
