I'm only set to lose .9 pounds a week right now, and my calories are set to net 1660. I'm not in a rush, I'd rather feel good and enjoy the things I like, while losing weight. :-)

Eating less than 1200 calories isn't okay, it isn't healthy and could lead you too an eating disorder. You don't have much to lose, set your goals to lose half a pound a week, and eat all of the calories MFP tells you too.

I think you intend well but that you don't understand how MFP is set up. There is already a deficit figured in by MFP when you tell it how much you want to lose a week. You definitely DO not need to have 500 plus calories remaining, and in most cases, shouldn't.

I eat my exercise calories back, and I'm losing just fine. Why make it any harder than it needs to be?

In my opinion, you should net at least 1200 calories. You'll do fine like this at first, but like a car, eventually you'll run out of gas.

Seriously? You barely have any weight to lose, and you thought it would come off that fast? I'm 226 pounds and I have my weight loss goals set to lose .9 pounds a week. What's your rush? 4 pounds a month is a great loss!

I've had one already, about 9 years ago. I should have had two more by now, but without health insurance,its a no go. My father died of colon cancer that if he had had one, probably could have been caught in time. If you're able to, please have one! It's not the most fun thing in the world, but the alternative really sucks!

I'm sure its because I was way overweight for so many years,but I've had 2 c-sections, and the more weight I lose, the further down my belly seems to hang..lol ugh! I hope it will improve over time, I still have a lot more weight to lose.

I'm with you! I'm not much on the fast food, but yeah, sometimes! I also have ice cream every single night! Unless someone ate the last of it before I could get to it, and then we have a problem..LOL

MFP gave you that total, because you told MFP how much you wanted to lose each week. You should eat as close to that total as you can.

I would eat as close to the calories that MFP recommended as you can.

Walking, jogging, and swimming is great exercise :-)

I use MIO for in some of my daily water, and its not hurting me.

I agree with what others have said. Use that food scale, its a great tool and can help you to be more accurate as far as your calories go.

I would starve on 1200 calories too. Did you know if you exercise that you get more calories?

I have the Polar FT4, and you really don't notice the chest strap. I wear it in the pool, yes.

You've come to the right place! This site has changed my life! If you have access to a pool, that would probably be the best place to start. Does walking hurt your hips? Sorry, my knees aren't great, but I don't know what is limited when your hips are bad. I did water aerobics when I first started out, and loved it.

I plan to have my ice cream late at night, and log it into my day ahead of time, so that I have the calories. It also helps me say no to other things during the day, knowing that I'll have it later.

Can't you divide the cup into tablespoons, or however much you used?
