Check out http://www.reddit.com/r/keto and read the FAQ. Lots of solid info on there. Do the research for yourself and see what works for you.

Not sure which person he is! Assuming blue-shirt-guy.. I'd say 31?

jessi -- you are so close! When do you weigh again?

Can you find someone you can use for instant accountability/motivation? I use my best friend and he's ALWAYS there for me to message (we use gtalk, we're on opposite sides of the pond) if I'm dealing with a major temptation. I am using a strict plan to jump start my weight loss. The quick results *are* good motivation for…

IF is also a valid idea. (Intermittent fasting). On days where I get out the door and simply don't have time to eat.. I don't. I drink tea or coffee and shift my meals to later. The meal replacement drinks to me are hunger-stimulating where fasting is hunger-diminishing. ymmv!

100 total to lose, feel free to add me. :)

Then stop. Give yourself two weeks (or whatever) to not think about weight loss. It's not always the right time to tackle this project and starting/failing daily is not helping matters. Maybe take off til Valentine's Day and then resume?

The pic was planned for a "photobomb".. it was an after pic to show off the curled hair for NYE. :)

Joyful (love it!)

Umm.. there's something going on with your head..

Fine with me! :) You're a guy, so you might just get there faster than I do. I visited London for the first time in Nov and really enjoyed wandering around. Most of my time was spent in Wales, but London was probably my most lackadaisical "so where do you want to go?" day and just playing it by ear.

Rejected. You are very pretty, but not the gender I'd prefer!

Following the Special K diet *is* a form of calorie counting. The fact is that people lose in all kinds of ways and we all find our path. The principal is to be healthy and the method varies. Support each other and don't worry so much about the path that other people are on. I'm following a PSMF and people FREAK about it…

I'm around 220 and doing a PSMF before jumping into low-carb paleo. I'm preparing for MY wedding in the fall!

Why cardio only 2x/wk? I have a program (trainer set up) to do strength 2-3 times per week (and I'm getting results!).. she scoffed a bit at the cardio I was doing because I often go 2x/day --- I live in a small town, the gym is a MAJOR social outlet, so the classes are kinda like my version of catching a movie with a…

The best shoes are those that are comfortable to you. I'm heavier (216lbs) and planning a 5K in Oct. I like New Balance shoes -- there is a great study out there (done by the military) showing that picking shoes based on arch, pronation, etc, etc doesn't actually HELP and in many cases HURTS instead.. so try on lots and go…

I'm here daily - doing paleo/calorie counting and exercise. Plan to lose 100lbs by next summer.

It's way easier to try to avoid losing muscle if you're exercising. Otherwise if you gain back you'll have a higher body fat %.
-
Diet is most important. Too many people exercise, overeat, and then complain that they don't lose. Exercise will help make sure you're not dropping lean muscle with the fat. It also feels good mentally. If you give it two weeks you'll start to notice improvements that will keep you going!

Nope. Decided to enjoy a quiet evening instead of a so-so first date option! TPBM wants to change their career.

Feel free to add me! I'm doing a low carb keto/paleo.

Feel free to add me. I have a motivational and great group of friends here and it makes a great difference!!

I'll preface this by saying I'm a CPM. The very best diet I've found, and recommend to ALL of my clients, is www.drbrewerpregnancydiet.com - if you eat a good diet and stay active, you'll find that you're in a great spot after baby arrives. You must get enough calories to stay out of ketosis. ketones are a serious business…

I really don't 'get' this. Your numbers don't see to match what you're saying. If you never go below your BMR, how are you losing? My BMR is 1700.

Feel free to add me. I'm following a keto diet with exercise (mostly want to finish www.c25k.com - I'm on week 5). My long-term goal is around 140. I started at 230 and now at 216. I hit 199 about a year ago and regained after a move and so on.. this time my main focus really is the exercise so the weight loss is slower,…

The c25k has given me a strong goal (5K) and a timeline (9w) to work on it. I do other exercises and I am focused on weight loss, but I can't WAIT to do a 5K before my 36th bday (Feb). I finished w4d2 today and it's fantastic to be able to run for 5 minutes now. I remember when the 60 seconds was too difficult. It burns…

Protein doesn't build muscle. Exercise does. And it's a misnomer that you must get it from meat sources.. lots of vegans out there who are well-built athletes.

Your body doesn't need 1200 calories per day to function. Your body needs what it needs. It is individual for everyone and I highly recommend doing your own research (pubmed.com, etc) on this to find what's true for -you-. Many reputable docs have recommend <1000 calories for certain dieters. There are lots of interesting…
