I JUST bought a fitbit, they have a new one out called the Fitbit flex 2 that you can wear as a wristband OR a necklace, which is a huge bonus because I am not always swinging my arms. Sometimes I'm pushing a cart, a stroller, or holding my daughters hand and that entire time my steps aren't counting. I love fitbit because…

Thanks all, I guess I'm just being impatient. 1400 cals is good enough for me on a normal day to day basis so I'll stick with that and have my occasional treat where I go over. I did buy a cloth measuring tape so I'll try taking my measurements every week. It's a bit discouraging that I lost so much in the beginning few…

@BT_rescuemom I would take really small containers and pre-measure everything at night so it's ready to go in the AM. You could keep em in the fridge or freezer.

Ack I don't know if we have ginger powder though. Do you blend it then put it in a sauce pan? I wonder if you could just microwave it to heat it up and then blend?

I have sugar free honey I got off Amazon, I'm so trying this tonight!

Do the best you can to stay on track, sometimes they have roast ham/beef or some sort of meat dishes on resorts like that at night, but breakfast in my experience in the Dominican was mostly carbey bagels, rolls, croissants, fruit and oatmeal. You might have to fast through breakfast and eat at lunch/dinner when they offer…

Keto was the only diet that really worked for me, I was pre-diabetic, insulin resistant, and I have PCOS so a simple calories in calories out wasn't working. I always felt like I was starving all the time. Turned out eating high carb and low fat foods just made me gain more weight because by body was turning it all into…

I use the magic bullet too @kpk54, its quick and easy but freakin loud! Maybe if I cover it with a towel or something that would keep the noise down. An immersion blender might be a better choice for me actually..

I tried it for the first time on Saturday. Blending it is KEY. I added a splash of vanilla and 5 drops of liquid stevia to mine. It makes frothy yummy goodness! I was a little sad going to work this AM with regular coffee and powdered creamer.. lol. I didn't want to turn my blender on and wake up my kiddo.

I make my normal chili, same spices and veggies but omit beans and anything too carb heavy. I do keep an onion in just for flavor then remove it after a few hours of simmering. I use 3 different types of ground meat - ground sausage, ground turkey and ground beef. I also add in a pack of cooked bacon. I love chili.. lol

OH but if you're in Canada hit up Bulk Barn, that place is AMAZING. You can pick your own container and fill it with as much peanut butter as you like. Just you know, avoid all the bins of candy ;)
-
I make fat bombs with my peanut butter and add coconut oil so it's not so carb heavy. Once I'm through this jar I'm going to the hippie isle in kroger and making my own all natural stuff so I know there's 0 sugar in it :)

Continue logging all of your food. If you're eating 20g or less of carbs, you're fine. Some medicines and vitamins have hidden sugar so be careful (liquid nyquil, cough syrups, cough drops, gummy vitamins). Here is a great FAQ: https://www.reddit.com/r/keto/wiki/faq

Keto / Low carb for 1 year: 1) Dropped 61lbs 2) A1C dropped from 6.0 (pre-diabetic) to 5.2 (normal) 3) Triglycerides dropped from 100 to 89 (normal) 4) No longer heaving for breath trying to go up a flight of stairs 5) Can walk longer distances without stopping 6) Went from over a size 26 (no idea what size I was, probably…

I've been on it for a year and am down 61lbs. Once you're done losing weight and are at maintenance you can choose to stay with keto for the other benefits listed above, or you can add a few carbs slowly back in (sweet potatoes, quinoa, brown rice), or you can have carb days where you eat things you normally wouldn't. If…

That's how I found out about Keto too! I'm no longer pre-diabetic now after a year of keto. A lot of fast food places let you lettuce wrap your burgers or will give you the contents of your sub in a bowl so that's been helpful too. Jimmy Johns unwiches are great. OP - With Paleo you don't have to limit carbs. With a low…

I've tried multiple brands and honestly there's nothing like the real deal. I buy the sugar free kroger brand. It's not good but I mean, it's something. Kind of like how I feel about cauliflower rice, it's never going to be *as* good as rice, but I feel much better after eating that then eating a pile of chinese food. The…

When you feel like tech support for food. "Can I have pasta?" No, that's a carb. "Oh but we can have quinoa right?" No.. carb.. if you just read the back of the label.. "Ok but I can still have honey in my tea because it's a natural sugar right?" No..... "Well sweet potatoes are good because Dr Oz said durka durka blah…

I had a family member say the same, then laughed when I said I was cutting out all sugar. About 40lbs later she asked me "what's that diet you're doing again?". She's asked me about it a few times even after explaining it and helping her grocery shop and everything.. :/ She loves those "veggie" chips. Sigh.

Seems like we ARE the test environment

I wonder if adding an extra egg and some heavy cream would fluffen them up?
-
I think that's a fair trade off! I might do the same actually when my daughter gets old enough, I don't like giving her a lot of candy. We're using marshmallows as a reward for potty training right now and that's bad enough, lol.

I am going to peoples pages manually by finding them on my friends list and seeing if they posted anything :(

I lost mine and got a notice on it saying "Add friends?" with a button to facebook and email. I have friends already MFP! Give me back my newsfeed!

I live in an apartment complex, most kids go to the richie rich areas for Halloween candy. If they do come by though my hubby has piles of halloween candy he bought for himself which I'll give out. I wouldn't impose a diet on kids for one day a year though, that's on the parents to portion it out sparingly. Some parents…

Nice! Looking forward to seeing your pics. Now I'm tempted to have pancakes for dinner :)

I agree. I couldn't find the BBQ sauces everyone was raving about but was able to find Walden Farms. I was extremely disappointed and threw it out :(

@kdz0444 Your hair in your pic is very cool btw!

I use sugar free creamers to change up the flavors. I have coffee mate sugar free vanilla and sugar free hazelnut creamers for work.
