I've been doing the IF for about 30 days 18/6 style and I can't say it's improved weight loss but it has improved my energy levels and my workouts have been better. I'm doing a combination of 18/6 IF and the Spike Diet and I'm continually losing 1.5 to 2.5 pounds weekly.

I started MFP at 275# and 1800 Calories a Day w/o any exercise at all. Less then three months later I'm at 245#, 1700 Calories a day + one spike day and still losing weight at a healthy rate and I exercise about 3 times a week. I'd seriously look into a second opinion.

it's actually not that absurd, the George Foreman grills works on exactly the same concept of draining away fat to make a fatty piece of meat leaner and thus less calories. However, I don't see there being any real easy way to track it in your own kitchen.....
