I am interested in your results because I am considering the same procedures in a couple of years..

Cool, I've heard of the dexa scan sounds like agood investment. @Rose, I just made an appointment at my gym for a consultation so they will measure my BF%...not sure what method they use though.
-
that does make me feel a bit better, where did you get this info from? I general was looking at an article from livestrong about BF% and a few other random places, and was shocked when it said 30%+ is obese!

I would like more friends. I have 2 kids and want to lose 15-20 lbs, I am working at weight-lifting and cardio and basing my progress of BF% as well as weight. I eat about 15-20% below TDEE. I just want to be healthy! I also go back to work next week as a school psychologist full time and it's hard to keep up my diet and…

Oh and I'm 5'4" 144 lbs (give or take) in case anyone asks. If I do the Army Calculator is actually goes up to 32% :/ The other one is an average from this website: http://www.gymgoal.com/dtool_fat.html

So, are you saying it's really about how you want to manage your diet? But with the TDEE formulas you are more likely to conserve LBM? Also, I noticed I can eat more and do cardio with the way the formula calculated, but I would have a smaller rate of loss that way (ave .54/week) compared to if I did heavy lifting I could…
-
@slkehl- your profile pic...you are beautiful!
-
I'm just not educated about this, but why do you subtract TDEE from your BMR? Does anyone recommend any articles that I can read to understand this better, or some can give me a brief synopsis.

I'm in the same boat (school psychologist intern). It is VERY difficult to keep up with it, but as someone else on here said, you will have to get up earlier. If I don't do it in the morning there is no other time in the day for me to do it, as well as get the kidsd down earlier! Maybe you will have to change your goals a…

eating vegetable (green and or leafy) have fewer sugars than fruit. Many carbs you eat have sugar in them as well, so watch out for your intake on those as well. As for the 1400 calories, it depends on what you set your goal to be.
