  • Thank you all so much for your kind words and advice. The first step for me is to take the advice of journaling. Second, I am scheduled to start a weight loss support group at my church on Oct. 1st. I believe I will have the opportunity to address this issue assuming I have the courage to admit it. I think I do tho,…
  • Plus! This day isn't over yet!!! Get some exercise and burn some of those cals you went over on. It will make you feel so much better and you will start tomorrow on a much better note.
  • Over 200 Club? That'd be me! Can I join? I lost 100 lbs last year and have since gained back 20. I am ready to get that 20 back off as well as an additional 80 lbs. I could use the support. I lost it and that is why I gained back 20 lbs. I know that ultimately this is up to me and I can't rely on others to make it happen,…
  • BOOTCAMPS are wonderful! You will not regret it and it most certainly is NOT scary at all. It is fun, encouraging, and it strengthens you in so many ways!
  • Also, I forgot to mention...drink more WATER! It helps you feel full. For most people 8 glasses isn't even enough. Typically you are supposed to drink half of your body weight in oz. So, if you weigh 220, you need to drink 110 oz of water daily. This aids in weight loss more than you can imagine. It curbs yours appetite…
  • 1200 hundred calories is very low. It is the lowest you should go. Depending on your weight, you may want to make your goal more like 1400 or 1600 for a couple of weeks and then work your way down once your body gets used to the changes. You will still lose. If you are hungry you need to eat. You should NEVER starve your…
  • I know what you mean! I was raised on crap and it is so hard to break that cycle. I want so badly to teach my kids healthy eating habits so they won't have the same problem that I have now...trying to break my addiction to unhealthy food. It is SO important!!!
  • If you are eating healthy carbs you should be fine! Those carbs can be coming from dairy and veggies and fruits and our bodies need those carbs and they aid in weight loss and give you energy. Just be conscience of where you carbs are coming. If you take too many away, you might replace them with fat without noticing. You…
  • I completely gave up diet soda (and regular for that matter) when I was strictly losing weight. I lost 100 lbs in 8 months and I am positive that I couldn't have done it as fast without giving up soda. Not only does it bloat you horribly but it is just really bad for you all around. It makes you crave sweets too. I…
  • Definitely switch things up! Try some new foods and challenge your body with new and more difficult exercises. Your body is adjusting to what it thinks is routine. You have to switch things up and "trick" your body. Good luck!!
  • It is water retention and your body releasing salt. I am not exactly sure of the science behind it, but it is normal and happens to a lot of people. Just make sure you drink lots and lots of water. On a side note: most people think they are drinking enough water but they aren't. Drink half your weight in ounces!
  • I just spent the last 3 weeks trying to do it. I can't get past day 3. It is extremely difficult to do, especially mentally. I have heard many different views on cleansing. I think it is a good thing and if it isn't necessary, at least it can't hurt you. It is doable, just very difficult. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • never heard of it! A good low cal meal would be one egg and two or three egg whites. You could even add some turkey or feta cheese to it. Plus, you can add veggies for very little calories. It is really yummy and filling. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
  • I think that book is ridiculous! Please don't do fads or waste your time or your health on books like this. There is a science to losing weight and it is calories in= calories out. Eat smaller portions of whole healthy foods and exercise. It really is that simple. If you want to be a vegan that is fine, but you have to do…
  • You will need weights or a band for sure. You will also need a pull up bar. On most of the videos you need a mat, but in my opinion, that is optional. They try to convince you that you need all of these things, but you really don't. Weights and a pull up bar are the only things I have found to be absolutely necessary. Even…
  • Okay, maybe I can blame it on a long week, or my late night last night but huh? Although the last line I can kinda get... although avoiding taking steps results in stagnation... I'm feeling way unphilosophical at the moment... :embarassed:  :embarassed:  :embarassed: [/quote] This is what I get from…
  • You are absolutely right! It is all about attitude. If you tell yourself you don't feel like it, then you won't do it and if you do it, you won't work as hard. You really have to be careful about the way you think about things. That is a strategy that I have adopted that has helped me lose 113 lbs in 8 months! You CAN do…
