I've cut way back on coffee. I work nights, and I used to drink a TON of coffee. I still have a cup once in a while. I drink it black so there is no calorie penalty for me. A few months ago, I was driving through Waterbury, CT at about 2AM. I stopped at a DD to get a cup. I asked for coffee black. I guess she didn't…

Goes right through you, does it?

That may be why it is such a great weight loss tool. You drink it, it kills your appetite, viola!

Aw, shucks! :blushing:

My running is extremely minimalist. I try to keep running to an extreme minimum.

Ok,ok seriously. 10 things? 1 - My father was born and raised in Scotland 2 - I have worked as a professional musician 3 - I currently work nights, but not in the music business 4 - I can pick up just about any instrument with strings and sound like I know what I'm doing 5 - I don't play the bagpipes 6 - You're welcome 7 -…

Anything artificial has no place in your body. The ingredient list in most of the processed foods today reads like a chemical chart. I worked for a chemical company for 4 years. It was very eye opening to find out some of the things that go into the food we eat. My wife and I have been eating organic ever since. Is organic…

My wife took yoga for college PE elective. I encouraged her to stick with it and the easiest way to do that was for me to take it up as well. At the north side of 45, I think it will be a while before (if ever) I can bend into a pretzel - :noway: - but I'll keep trying.

Before you try "Colonix," it is mostly Psyllium Husks Powder. Colonix is $69 for 3 containers, each one being 360g. My wife buys Psyllium Husks Powder at the health food store for $7.56. The container is 340g. It is a good way to make sure you are getting enough fiber.

I won't bother to list names or albums. I listen to a lot of solo acoustic guitar stuff. Compared to some of these playlists, mine would probably be considered rather boring.

Resistance bands are more of an aerobics workout than they are strength training. By that I mean, you gain some strength with any kind of a workout, and using resistance bands simulates the movements of lifting weights. If it were me, I would categorize it as either aerobics or calisthenics.
-
It works as advertised but for a third of the cost, you can get "Psyllium Husks Powder" at the health food store. It is the very first ingredient on the "Colonix." I've tried both, and both were equally as effective.

There is no bar. I am using dumbells - the fixed weight 35 pounders. My goal is to work my way up to two 50 lb dumbells, for as many sets of 50 reps as I can wring out.
-
Ok, I found a YouTube video that showed how the French Press is done. I've seen them before, I just didn't know that's what they were called.
-
I do 4 sets of 50 triceps extensions with a single 35 lb dumbell on my days that I do weights. I have tried dips but I have given up on them. I can do about 15-20 but I get a burning pain in my left elbow and then I can't do anything for a week. I have a coffee maker called a "French Press" but I don't think that is what…

Maybe someone who is better at math than I am can figure this out. I weigh 160 lbs. In the "push-up" position with my hands on the scale, the scale shows 110 lbs. I can easily do 50+ push-ups - not up to 100 just yet. Maybe it's not an apples to apples comparison, but bench-pressing two 35 lb dumb-bells (total 70 lbs), I…

My wife and I got off track over the holidays. We didn't eat a LOT of bad stuff, we just didn't worry so much about calories - or entering/tracking said calories on MFP. We're back, and back on track. Cheers, J&P
