I'm larg(ish) - not obese... marathon runner... workout 6-7 days/week... and I still burn nearly 1000 cals/hour so generalizations like this are not helpful
-
I typically burn greater than 700 cals an hour doing things like step class, T25 (doubled up), RIPPED... in other words high intensity aerobic activity. an hour of swimming won't get me more than 400 cals and thats if I'm busting *kitten* in the pool for an hour...

I think if it helps a single person make a change in their life it's worth it. Sometimes it takes shows like this (no matter how unrealistic) for someone to say, hey! if that person is as big as I am and they can do that, so can I! I don't watch it, but only because I'm in school at night while working during the day so…

yup, I know a handful of runners as well who missed the 1:38 mark I think the biggest reason this year is because those who didn't finish last year d/t the bombing were invited back without havig to qualify so they had to limit the numbers somehow
-
I'm doing the marathon, it will be my 2nd. I'm not in peak performance d/t some pain/medical issues over the summer so a little worried but know I can finish under the time. I'm donig my last 20 miler tomorrow. found a local race to do it with so excited it will be supported so I don't have to worry about hydration!

mmmmmmmm.... nummmmyyyy... diet coke.... must....have....one....now...

I think you're a judgemental jerk. who says I'm not working hard enough just because I'm able to read while running on a treadmill? Who are you to say if someone is "working hard enough"... stop watching others and do your own thing
-
sounds good! I'll check it out on fb and see if I can join in! 6 weeks to grandmas, I need all the motivation I can get for training!

If you can't control your dog, he needs to be leashed, whether you're playing *superised* or not. You don't know if the other dog could have hurt your dog, the walker didn't know if your dog would hurt her dog. Be a responsible dog owner so the rest of us don't get tagged because of your negligence
-
I don't know what you're talking about, the step classes at my gym are full to overfilling... maybe it's just you not seeing it anymore?
-
So you haven't seen any other benefits to a month of working out? You don't feel better? You don't move better? You aren't eating healthier? Weight is only one singular way to measure progress and quite often it's not even a good one. you should be doing measurements, you should be taking pictures, you should be noticing…

I'm a runner and am doing my first full marathon in June! I'm not fast or pretty but damnit if I'm not gonna cross that finish line!

Yes. Yes. No. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.Yes. I also work full-time and that night school is a FT course in nursing as well which means weekends at the hospital. I still workout 6 days a week, those are all just excuses. but thanks for playing.

I hope you LOVED RIPPED! I think Tonya is still teaching that class and she is amazeballs. I love her energy and her encouragement
-
Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback

find some good recipes and make a list of what you want to make every week (I shop every 2 weeks this way). Get rid of the processed stuff and start steering yourself to more natural foods. YOur body will thank you
-
HA! I feel the same way... just hoping the roads are cleared from whatever crap falls today :/
-
It's a good way to get to the end of the race in the time you want, if the pacers are good. Some local races have had some bad pacers (MN) but hopefully the race you're doing has ones that have done it before... They can be fun because they kind of cheer you along and give you pointers along the way.

not everyone understands how to or that it's private. it's ok to just let them know it's helpful for us to see their diaries, in a nice way :) and thank goodness you all had it figured out 100% when you started here, it's helpful to have so many people know so much right off the bat. What a bunch of nice & perfect people!

you hate it because you dont have the energy because your body can't keep up with the demands youre placing on it. Eat more. You are not doing yourself ANY favors now or in the long run. Eat more and you might find you enjoy the gym again because you have enough energy to actually do something worthwhile there

one of my friends did JNL fusion and got RIPPED! She seriously saw some fantastic results. She was in decent shape ahead of time but DAMN

Just go to the website and enter any game you want to :) there's no secret to it, find one you can afford or has a ton of players with a huge pot. dietbet.com

That's funny because it's the opposite for me... then of course I'm also walking 3 dogs at a time so it's kinda an instant turn off for every guy I've met :)
-
I'm in one now :) 3 more weeks... it's kind of fun so far :)

Is protecting paws a non-profit? If so then is he also on petfinder? MN has SO many resources for dogs... are you fostering him?

I used to completely let it derail me and I'd let my failure at eating well give me an excuse to become further depressed. I've now worked really hard at changing my mindset and I reframe things. Hard to do and it's taken a lot of work. I have also found that with running (my exercise of choice) that I'm depressed much…

Weight loss is so dependent on so many things. Plus, when you weigh in (night/morning) makes a huge difference too. I would start with scoobys calculator (google it) and make sure you're eating the correct amount of calories. Make sure that you're pushing yourself in a healthy way with the workouts. Make sure you're taking…
