  • Awesome! I'll give it a go tonight. I love PB. Back in the day, when I was pregnant, I bought a giant peanut butter cookie from local bakery. I bit into it and it wasn't peanut buttery enough so I went home and spread a thick layer of peanut butter on it. Still thought it needed more peanut butteryness. So, yeah, I love…
  • I split some barley wine with my husband on Saturday. I don't remember the brewer, but it was lovely. Beer is my love. One thing I remind myself is that just because I am waaaaay overcarbing on that, I don't need to use that as an excuse to eat other junk. I do make effort to limit my consumption to one every couple weeks…
  • This week has been sleep. (The cold rainy weather was definitely part of that decision.) I will squeeze in a 30 minute workout on my hour lunch *sometimes*. Lately I've been taking 30 minute lunches to squeeze in some extra work time. It's about being flexible.
  • It's Thursday but I'll post. SW (like February 5th?) 131 lbs CW: 117.9 lbs GW: Was 112, now I am not so sure. I'm mostly chillaxing on weight. I'm not in maintenance per se, but I am working on my half-marathon training also have been investing a lot of time in my CASA volunteer training. I'll check in on calories and how…
  • @anglyn1 I too am not fully impressed with my $6 pint of Halo Top. It's pretty good, but I am disappointed by the lack of fat. Have you come across any high fat protein ice cream, by chance? Will I have to make my own?
  • I'm from Idaho. :s
  • Checking in, always love new friends, but I stopped tracking recently. I also <3 <3 <3 Fitbit friends. I can be added on Fitbit: https://www.fitbit.com/user/24LXDS
  • Cauliflower. Now I like it riced or even as a mash. It helps to add tasty things to it (kimchi or butter/cheese respectively). It's still top of my least fave veggies. (Cabbage for life!!)
  • Add my husband to the list of fellas losing weight while still eating carbs away from home. I don't know how much weight, but enough that I noticed his belly has gone down a little and pants are looser. Then he tells me he is worried about his arteries when we eat a keto healthy meal. LOL
  • Gim (toasted seaweed)! Salty and sooo tasty! Also little dried anchovies! You can stir fry in advance in coconut or sesame oil. Season to taste. Most recipes call for syrup or gochujang to make them sticky and a little sweet, but you don't need that to enjoy; that's just the traditional recipe.
  • Samantha is so smart! What she said! Conversely, don't worry if you aren't eating as many calories some days. One of the major benefits of LCHF, IMO, is that it helps manage hormones (science people?) and you can better recognize your body's hunger signals. Listen to it, it's pretty clever. (PS. Not saying it's a good idea…
  • I have no interest in grains. I am <20 net carbs goal, although I am not tracking so much lately. I do enjoy dairy (HWC in my coffee, but not too much!) and I have a factory-made low carb bar or sweet every other day. These might seem high for net (4-7) in one go, but I am okay with it. I am not and have never been…
  • @ Ralflott I haven't had any issues, but maltitol is really the one item that hurts my stomach. I don't seem to have sensitivity to xylitol. I tried the chocolate brownie one now as well. Also tasty. They seem to have less of the grit that I've been encountering in Quest. Not sure if I am lying to myself, but I like these…
  • Are you the lab rat inventor of this concoction? I love raw beef in varying forms, including ground into kitfo. But I do not have an interest in sweet meat. Unless lactose/dairy is an issue, I have seen plenty of low carb dairy desserts that could meet the ice cream craving. If sweet is your intent, while I applaud your…
  • 55 miles as recommended on my half-marathon training regimen. Huzzah!
  • https://youtu.be/WYns5vR3QuQ <---- my life (I'm Homer)
  • I just drink bouillon cubes for sodium and take a separate magnesium citrate supplement.
  • I'm open but I haven't really been logging the last week or so. Funny, I couldn't keep away during ad lib but now I sort of feel like I know what I'm doing and don't need it. Weird. I guess only time will tell.
  • It's Wednesday so prime rib. Oh, and green beans and red wine. Wine is a side dish...
  • http://cavemanketo.com has some good recipes. You might also bring a coloring book or small toy with you to the table ;) (I know that's not what you mean about boredom at mealtimes, I'm just being a goober.)
  • I love that food pyramid. I haven't seen that before, actually.
  • I bought them! I tried the chocolate chip one and it's pretty good. They use erythritol which is one sweetener I do like that doesn't taste funny or give me stomach issues. I really appreciate the economics (I don't even have a Costco card, my sis picked me up a box on her trip this weekend).
  • If it were my significant other, I would bring it up when I started feeling less sexually attracted to him,. I think he would top out around 200 lbs before I said anything (he's not a weightlifter, y'know). Knowing my SO's history, I would assume this gain is a symptom of something else and it's really the something else I…
  • I lived in S. Korea for a couple years. I had this realization that they were getting things imported from China, leaving eggs outside of the fridge, and mixing food with their hands (in restaurants) and everyone remained alive. The elderly were hella healthier than most American elderly individuals. I never got food…
  • What does it entail exactly? I eat <20 net carbs and roughly 70-80 grams of protein/day. It's not part of a formal diet plan per se so I don't know if it's the same. I feel great. I just love meat. Meat and veg for daaaaaaays. And eggs. I'm turning into an egg.
  • Is the offage reading higher or lower during periods of intense exercise?
  • I have the HR Charge. I put my info in on that class-action suit. I'm uncertain if it matters if the number is showing low. but it would be really unfortunate if I think I am working 150 BPM and I am only at 130BPM.
  • If you like the taste of turkey, eat turkey. But you may find the need to supplement fats elsewhere to meet your macros. I eat regular bacon and sausage generally. Though, I occasionally like chicken based sausages for the taste.
  • So sweat may or may not be an indication of effort put into a work out which may or may not be correlated with calories burned. Perfect. :) I did find that I was saltier than "average" at the end of sweaty work outs. That's how I realized I needed to up my salt intake!
  • Tired. I'm angry that I have to try so hard at everything (not just weight maintenance/fitness).
