That's funny for the question AND the spelling of "your".

I start mine out as such: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I…

It's just a way to mark the post so it's in your topics and it also brings the topic back to the top of the list.

I set a goal of 4000 miles of riding this year. Most will be on the road, however, some will be on the trainer and some will be on the trails on the mountain bike. My first big ride of the year will be January 12th when I'll be doing a Polar Bear Metric Century (62 miles). I know I'll be doing a century in July also. Those…

don't look a gift horse in the mouth if you can't stand the heat, stay outta the kitchen If you can't do the time, don't do the crime keep your friends close and your enemies closer

That definitely sounds hight to me. Probably less then half that amount. I ran at lunch today (a little slow) but even at 36 minutes I only burned 297 calories according to my HRM and I'm 6'-2" 223 lbs.

Endomondo works great and you can automatically sync your workouts to MFP. It will talk to you and tell you your distance and time also. I've been using it for years and I am very happy with it. You can log in online also and see even more of your stats on there.

*Knock on wood* I've ridden over 2100 miles since May and have never had a flat. I do carry Co2 cartridges and a spare tube though.

I'm struggling right now with my bike adjustment. My hands are falling asleep and my rear is killing me after about 15 or 20 miles. I've been making small adjustments myself because I hate the idea of paying all that money for the bike shop to do it. I'm supposed to be doing a metric century in the middle of January but if…

Do both! Cardio is like weight lifting for your heart and lungs. Your heart is a muscle and cardio makes it strong.

Supposed to be sunny and 60 here today and a little warmer tomorrow. Great 2 days to ride. After that I think it's supposed to cool off. Looks like I'll be on the trainer for a few days after that. I plan to do a metric century polar bear ride in the middle of January. That should be nice and cold.

hahaha NICE! I know EXACTLY what you mean.

Cool. I appreciate that. I have almost a full year of riding under my belt now and I have improved 100%. I'll check the book out though.

Before I started riding, cyclists used to get on my nerves. How dare they slow me down and make me take an extra minute or 2 to get where I have to be. Now that I'm a cyclist, I have the utmost respect when I pass other cyclists in my car. So many drivers are complete idiots and a-holes when it comes to bikes.

I averaged about 3-5 lbs lost per month. I still have weight I want to lose but I'm very close to my goal right now. My best advice... if you want to be healthy and in shape, remove the word "DIET" from your vocabulary. Change the way you eat and change your activity level. The rest will come as a result. I set the wheels…

15,000 MILES??? Wow! Congratulations!

Endomondo and Strava are the 2 I use. Both great!

I plan to make that same commitment 2 weeks from today.

A HRM won't give you an accurate idea of how many calories you burn during strength training, because the relationship between heart rate and calorie expenditure is not the same during strength training as during cardio exercise, which is what the HRM's estimate is based on. Unless your weight training is very vigorous…
