Numb hands can come from several things. Like a few others have said, you could be putting too much weight on your hands. Try to focus on keeping your elbows bent to engage your core. Same here. I was hot all the time but since losing a good amount of weight, I get cold a lot now. Especially my hands.

One year ago I was lucky to hang on to a group that was averaging 16 mph. Today I lead a group ride in the morning and we averaged over 22 mph. You have to push yourself beyond your limits every day. The more you do that, the faster you get each day. It just takes time.
