According to Zecharia Sitchen, who translated ancient Sumerian texts, we were created from apes by an alien race called the Anunnaki, from the planet Nibiru, to mine Earth for gold which they needed for their planet's atmosphere or something. Now that we're done with that task, we're just here hangin' out!

I lost my boobs and I couldn't be happier!

Some people eat back calories and other do not. MFP recommends it and it you enter exercise in your log MFP will add those calories back into your daily allowance. I eat some of my exercise calories back and that works for me. If you try it one way and it works for a while but then quits working, try it the other way. It's…

^^^ What he said.

You should net 1300 according to MFP. That means if you exercise, any calories you earn from exercise should be eaten back.

The HRM uses calculations based on cardio exercise. I think it has to do with oxygen and other factors. An increased heart rate during strength training does not creat the same effects as cardio. Think of it as more like watching a scary movie or someone jumping out from behind the door to scare you. Your heart rate…

They said they won't stop production. Whew!

Not quite that easy. If you don't eat enough food your body reacts to that and will slow down. This will cause you to lose weight at a much slower rate. There is a lot of science to losing weight effectively. The rason people recommend eating your exercise calories here is because MFP has already factored your required…

Don't diet. Just eat healthy and exercise.

I was making a comparison to myself to see where my time falls with those who are similar to me.

Go ahead and stuff yourself on carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, bananas, apples and water. It's not about the eating part, it's about WHAT you're eating. Knock yourself out! Sorry to hear about your parents moving away. If your glass is half full you get a nice place to vacation in the winter.

My friend Bob has had this problem his whole life.

I think these posts are inspiring me to push myself extra hard to get under 30 minutes. Outside time. I hate runnning on a treadmill. So boring!

If I took the whole winter off it would take me the whole summer to get back to where I was before winter.

Polar FT4, FT7, FT40. All are good.

I'm also curious about 3 mile times. I used the term 5k as a measurement more than an actual race or event. Anybody else have 5k or 3 mile times?

I had just posted this on another reply a little bit ago... Our bodies are built to survive. There are processes in place to deal with different circumstances. If you are under-eating or over-exercising you body will try to compensate for any shortages by slowing down and trying to burn the least amount of fuel as…

If you're using your HRM for strength training you're getting an estimate that is going to be high. HRM's are designed for and use calculations based on cardio exercise and will give false readings during strength training. The science behind that would be comparable to watching a scary movie and getting your heart rate…

Most cardio equipment I've seen at the gym will only allow you to enter your weight. There are other factors just as important that your HRM will allow you to enter. Sex, age, height all make a big difference in your count.

Our bodies are built to survive. There are processes in place to deal with different circumstances. If you are under-eating or over-exercising you body will try to compensate for any shortages by slowing down and trying to burn the least amount of fuel as possible. Storing as much as possible. On the other hand, if you…

I also weigh myself every day. It keeps me more accountable. Nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned.

This is from the Mayo Clinic's website: Beyond the tap: Other sources of water Although it's a great idea to keep water within reach at all times, you don't need to rely only on what you drink to meet your fluid needs. What you eat also provides a significant portion of your fluid needs. On average, food provides about 20…

Kudos to you for taking on weight loss and smoking cessation at the same time. I know you didn't really ask for advice but I will say this... IMO, take that Slim Fast and throw in the garbage right next to your cigarettes. Eat some real food. Especially with the fact that you're trying to quit smoking too. Fresh fruits,…
