I'm greedy but I'm sure the problem is bad habits which I picked up from a young age. Both of my parents were really fat when I was young and we just ate and ate and ate. On reflection, I know that it was bad and I am sort of shocked that it was allowed and encouraged but for me, it's the norm now and difficult to move…

Also, I feel like *quite* the douche for commenting a proper comment without realising the thread had descending into...whatever it has... Lol

I love a drink, I'll usually have a couple on the house a few times a week just to wind down after work but I've realised I am going to have to cut it out almost completely. I usually go the pub on a Sunday evening about an hour or so so I'm going to allow myself a drink as usual then but booze is a slippery slope for me -…

Creme Egg toastie sounds bloody incredible.

No idea why I was worried - this is great, I love it! Feels really effective even for short work outs.

I am going dry for January - it might kill me! I survived last year (barring one cheeky cocktail, but my friend got engaged so I refuse to consider it a failure. I don't actually smoke but my mother has a pub and did a trial where she was giving free e-cigs to customers who don't stay as long due to the smoking ban. I took…

I'm going to stop carrying money around with me. I am always spending money when I'm out and about on chocolate, sweets, takeaway food etc. Tonight I wanted to buy junk food on the way home from the gym (lol) but I purposely left my purse at home so I couldn't. Now I'm back, I'm not even hungry. Would have regretted if I'd…

Last year I gave up booze for a month and dropped 6lbs and I wasn't really watching what I was eating or exercising much. I am going dry again this month but while also being more careful about food and if I can motivate myself, exercising at least 6 days a week as well. Not sure if I will last.....we'll see!! Good luck to…

Thanks for your comments everyone. My local gym has short classes (15-20 mins) so hopefully I can go to a few of them for instruction and then perhaps use the equipment independently when I know what I am doing. Can't wait!

Don't be afraid to ask the restaurant how they cook stuff. EG you can guess the meat and vegetables - but you don't know how much oil is in there and it's impossible to guess. They will tell you a decent estimate if you ask though. If they look at you funny, just explain you're calorie counting and need to know.…

I hate Weight Watchers! Too confusing. Slimming World is even worse. No idea why everybody doesn't agree that MFP/calorie counting in general is the best way to lose weight. Normally I am open minded but it's plain to see that you can't beat this system!!

Any biscuits/cookie/chocolate/Nutella. I can't help myself. I just eat the lot. Last time I got a pack of Chocolate Finger biscuits, I opened the box, had 4 as my MFP measurements......and then ate the rest. In about ten minutes flat!! I haven't been getting in replacements as I know those snacks aren't really something I…

I've recently got back into Vodka - drunk it with redbull during my party heyday but as I got older, my brain and body just couldn't handle it so I got more into wine, whiskey and scrumpy ciders - all of which aren't great when you are counting the cals! I now drink Vodka and Slimline Tonic although I might get into this…

Horses for courses but I think Keira Knightley and Nicole Thingy look awesome in those pictures! Kirsten Dunst is really pale and ill looking, however.

My allowance recently recalculated from 1250 to 1200. I think it's enough but you have to be careful as if you eat one bad thing during the day (ie, a Mcdonalds burger) then a large amount of your allowance is gone quickly and then you either continue eating and go past your allowance or try and punish yourself which is…

I used to weigh once a week. I need some new scales and I think I'll move to once every two weeks. My weight fluctuates a lot during the week so I know I'd be disheartened if it even goes a pound the wrong way. For that reason alone, it's a bad thing for me to weigh myself any more. That said, I'd prefer for the focal…

That's the thing though - as I just touched on in my prev post, my mother hasn't been "required to diet". She's physically unable to eat much food but that's due to force, not a choice she has made.

I'm one of those dullards who really hates the idea of having an operation. Unless it was something like a heart transplant, I can't imagine choosing to go under the knife. Queasy chat! Anyway, my mother had a gastric bypass this year. She is 50 now and has been obese for about 25 years. Before the operation, she ate tons…

I think it's really important to allow yourself to have whatever you fancy every now and again. Even though I aim to lose more weight and eat less crap, nothing will stop me enjoying good food and I wouldn't want to.I As for getting bored - I find cooking for myself is what keeps me interested in healthy food. I find the…

Thanks for this, I'm going to try it!

I won't be mentioning any weight related figures on there though! That's strictly mfp info only lol!

Oh, I forgot to say, feel free to add me and we can shower each other with motivation :)

I've decided to just drink whatever I want tomorrow and then I'm not going to touch a drop for the rest of the month. Alcohol is a bit of a problem for me - not in an alcoholic dependent way or anything but I know that I waste too many empty calories on drinking (fond of a whiskey or a big glass of sauvignon blanc...) but…

I absolutely can't stand measurements that are in "cups". It drives me insane! One man's cup is another man's trough. Grams forever and ever.
