TRX for beginners...

I am wanting to go to a TRX class to learn how to train with this equipment as I have never used it before (or even heard of it until the other day).
I am reasonably fit (but not *that* fit) - I currently exercise 2 or 3 times per week. Is this is a suitable activity or is it more geared towards people who are already super fit.
Would like to hear from anybody who is a bit flabby and has tried this form of exercise.
Thanks.

I've been using the TRX with clients since about 2003 and have used it with all levels of fitness. Since the TRX is a suspension trainer that uses body-weight the level of difficulty depends on the angle of your body. Go to You Tube and enter suspension or TRX training and you'll see that there are many different levels of exercise.
If you're lucky enough to have a facility near you that has TRX classes the instructor will be able to tell you which modifications to use as a beginner.
P.S. I LOVE using the TRX and use mine all the time!0 -
I used TRX as a beginner and I LOVED it! It's very effective and difficult but the great thing is that with many of the TRX exercises, YOU control how difficult it is by changing the angle of your body!0

I take group TRX classes a TRX specific boutique gym. For my first visit, they had me come 10-15 minutes early to give me some instructions and I was all set. During the class, the instructor walks around and helps people with their form.
The beauty of TRX is you can adjust you intensity by taking a step back or forward as needed. The first couple times really kicked my butt (in a good way), now I can classes it without much DOMS.
Do it for sure, TRX is awesome!0 -
My personal trainer utilizes the TRX with me during our sessions. I definitely qualify as a beginner in my strength training. I loved it so much. I found my squats, lunges & push ups were so much more effective I purchased a set for in home use. I certainly recommend it but, with professional help first for proper form & technique.0

Thanks for your comments everyone. My local gym has short classes (15-20 mins) so hopefully I can go to a few of them for instruction and then perhaps use the equipment independently when I know what I am doing. Can't wait!0

No idea why I was worried - this is great, I love it! Feels really effective even for short work outs.0
