Low carb is the way to go, I have lost 30 pounds in 8 weeks (21 pounds to go). LCD do not need willpower and I am never hungry although I will admit it is a very boring diet. I now have much higher energy levels and I always seem to be in a good mood (it has been remarked upon) I dont know if this is because of the diet or…

Let them have their opinions only yours really matter, I get the same even though I know I have 20 pounds + to go. Only you can be the judge of what is right for you.

Hi I have been on a low carb diet for 7 weeks now and have now lost 29 pounds, I keep under 60 grammes of carbs a day and the results have been amazing. I have tried numerous calorie controlled diets and been to WW & SW, always started with the best intentions but after 8-10 weeks (with some success admitedly) I gave up…

I have a one year planner on my bathroom wall with my weekly, monthly and 3 month goals marked on it. My goals are obviously weight reduction but also waist reduction as well. I check my weight every morning and mark the planner accordingly. Childish I know but if I make a goal I mark that day with a gold star. The planner…

I am 57 and I still go off road cycling, play golf, go running, regularly attend rock concerts and festivals. My wife is 51 and has a figure and body to die for and she works very hard to keep it that way, it's her example and badgering/help that got me back in the saddle and helped me to lose 27 pounds (so far). if I had…

Dont give up, it's a marathon not a sprint, cut your goals into small portions, dont look at the whole picture or it will overwhelm you. Good luck

That book is my diet/lifestyle Bible I take it that the channels you mentioned are USA based?

Regret is just not worth it just get back on the diet and aim for the future. It's a small mistake dont let it destroy all the good work and hard effort you have put in so far.

What I dont understand is that some people think ketosis is unheathy, it's not it's the natural state to be in. A low carb diet will still provide all the essential vitamins and minerals. Just read Gary Taubes brilliant book "Why we get fat" for the lowdown.

Cut out, bread, rice, pasta, root vegtables and all fruit except berries and obviously junk food. Between 40 & 60 will kick start the weight loss. There are lots of sites showing the carb content of food

I follow the Dr Clarks new high protein diet book, far less restrictive than Atkins and the science behind it is well explained, It is available from Amazon. I chose the book by reading the reviews on the Amazon site. It has worked wonders for me.

Thank you for the heads up

I intend to use the low carb diet to reach my target weight and then switch to 2000 cals a day but I will never go back to the crisps/biscuits/sweets/pizza/proccessed crap gorging I used to do. One thing this diet has done is removed my craving for sugary rubbish
