I alternate P90X with running during the week. I do feel that it is a great program and if I actually stick to it, I'm sure the results will be great! Good luck! If you decide to do this, we can be P90X buddies for support!

I always thought you drank a protein shake after lifting weights to help rebuild the muscles you just "tore down". Does it really matter if it's whey, soy or spirulina other than based on preference?

I also like to use both. It's easy to get bored with both, so try to alternate between the two. You'll still get the cardio in!

I've been asking this same question on my wieght loss/ health journey. Lest we not forget that lean muscle also burns more calories at rest than fat does. But, you do need some cardio to keep your heart healthy.

Thanks for all the great input. I have been wondering the same things. I have been at a stand still after losing 13 lbs. I love cardio (treadmill, running outside or elliptical) but am going to add strength training to my week. Maybe cardio 2x week and strength 3x? I still have about 20 lbs to lose.

I've be at a plateau for a while too. But, then again, I haven't eated as "clean" as I should've or exercised as much as I should've either. I do love water though. It is easy for me to get my water in daily. I usually do cardio, either treadmill or eliptical for 30 min a day. I wonder if I will lose if I only do 30…
