  • Yes you eat the calories you burned off from exercise. The key to losing weight is creating an overall caloric deficit. For example, my basal metabolic rate is 1660. If I only NET 1200 calories, I'll be in a deficit of 460 each day.
  • 60 kg is a good starting goal weight. As you inch closer and closer to it, you'll decide if you want to lower it or not. Don't worry about it now :)
  • I can't wait to go shopping for lulu lemon clothes.. something I've been wanting for AGES but shying away from it because it's so expensive. But now I want it. =D
  • Try & avoid any kind of fruit juice. It's just loaded with sugar and calories, and it won't keep you full. You're better off eating the actual fruit, which contains fibre.
  • Instead of having large meals, eat throughout the day. I find that I can't handle 3 large meals a day (except for maybe supper). I eat 6 smaller portions throughout the day. This also gives your body a boost in your metabolism because it's constantly working at digesting food. A typical day for me is: B-Oatmeal or cereal…
  • Instead of trying to lose weight, aim to maintain it. It's hard to lose weight when you're away from home. Always ask for a smaller potion, or take half of your meal home.
  • I'm in! It's a great way to be more physically active :)
  • Peanuts/peanut butter. Omg. I could eat the whole jar<3
  • I did, when I was overweight. Now I just learned not to take as much :)
  • As far-fetched as that is, I believe it. With fast-foods, anything is possible, no matter how extraordinary it is. I think there was a chicken stir-fry at Montana's (idk if that's in the USA or UK) and it was like 4000 mg of salt.
  • Peanuts, like all nuts, are high in calories and fat (but the good fats). There won't ever be a low-calorie peanut butter (like 20 calories per tablespoon). I use the natural peanut butter, with no added sugar or oils. The hydrogenated oils in processed peanut butter is what's really the bad thing about it. Remember to use…
  • I just took a brief look, and not sure if anyone else has mentioned this (I didn't look) but today I noticed you ate a lot of cheese. Cheese has a lot of fat, so try and reduce that amount slowly. Nuts like almonds contain the GOOD fats, but again watch the caloric amount. For a healthy cheese, I think the milk fat…
  • I that's a really good idea. I can give you a link to this article giving you scientific proof that a cheat day is something you can use to get out of or keep yourself out of a plateau. I will be attending university this fall for Nutrition, and I'm learning a lot already from my dummies book :) I'd be able to help give…
  • This is ENTIRELY my opinion, and the opinions of a dietitian and exercise specialist, and I agree with them. I've asked them if protein supplements/shakes are necessary for gaining muscle mass, and they said no. If you eat a balanced diet of carbohydrates, protein, vegetables etc you'll get the same benefits. They said…
  • Mine is a little plain. We have cast-iron frying pans, so you can actually fry the chicken without adding any oils (except for water). It tastes sooooooooooooo gooood. I might add a dash of seasoning salt.
  • Bikini :) From victoria's secret. Mwahaha<3 I cannot WAIT.
  • When I run on a tredmill, I tend to run slower for some odd reason. I prefer running outside because it keeps me entertained and it feels like I'm actually running somewhere (even though it's just around my neighbourhood). Plus I do interval training, so I don't have to fumble with the buttons on the machine.
  • I didn't do the C25k, but I've been running close to 3 years now. I rarely eat anything before I run. If I do, it's either lunch or supper and I wait around 1-2 hours before I begin. Afterwards, I normally have a piece of bread with a tablespoon of peanut butter. If I run when I first wake up, I'll have a protein bar for…
  • Mine is at 1200 cal, but that's because I have a sedentary full-time job and started at a healthy weight range, just looking to tone up. I exercise daily so my caloric intake goes up to around 1500 (you can look at my diaries). Oh, and I picked 1 pound per week for weight loss. But it said something like 0.9 lbs per week.

  • I would wait. When I was sick for a week in the hospital (not kidding) I was under almost 10 pounds. When I started eating regularly again, I gained back about 7-8 pounds of water.
  • You can add me if you want. I'm on basically erry day & I like to motivate people when they need it :)
  • When it comes to losing weight, it's ALL about the food and nutrition. I rarely leave my workout calories untouched. I agree with the above comment, take it and be happy with it :)
  • 1 cup of PLAIN popcorn is like 100 calories i think. I find I need to do something with my hands repetitively in order to be satisfied. Popcorn always solves it. Normally I have a yogurt and berries, or even sugar snap peas and hummus.
  • I tried it before, but all it made me do was crave carbs and go on a huge binge day after day. I include whole wheat or full grain breads in my diet, but limit it up to 6 servings per day, based on the food guide. In my opinion, I wouldn't because carbs are your body's fuel source.

  • I find that eating 6 meals per day and drinking lots of water helps me. Plus I get a snack around 7-8 pm so I'm not craving for food! :)
  • ***The more you exercise, the more you can eat :) I would set it to 1 lb per week. But at least try to exercise too. It's good that you're doing slow weight loss.
  • 1 cup strawberries 1 banana 2 cups ice 1 cup yogurt 1 packet sweetner I subbed in the cup of yogurt for 1/2 cup milk + 1/2 cup yogurt. And I added some bran but it got a little soggy and lumpy. It's a pretty good smoothie that makes a lot, and only around 150-200 calories.

  • I did find a blog, on TopFatLossTrainer.com, that says if you restrict carbs throughout the week then you should have a cheat day, just to keep your metabolism up. They went into some scientific explanation with hormones and stuff, but I didn't read it all. I sometimes like to. I joined a week ago and had one. I might have…
