I don't know about the 35, but I have the 235 (the regular, not the X) and I love it. I upgraded from the 220, which I only wore during runs, and I wear the 235 all the time. I think the heart rate is fairly accurate and I love that it has options for running, running indoors, biking, and "other." It really has me paying…

Most nurses in the UK are over a 35 BMI? Anyway, no point in working hard to get a nursing degree if you'll end up with too many health problems to use it later.

I think drinking water can help with weight loss indirectly. When I drink water and stay hydrated I am less hungry and sometimes I mistake appetite for thirst so drinking water has helped with food cravings.

I have a Garmin forerunner 235 and I think the heart rate is pretty accurate but I find the calories burned to be inaccurate. At the end of some days it says I've burned over 3000 calories and I don't think that's true, I'm only 5'1". For example it told me over 3000 on Saturday and I did go for an hour long run and I…

I definitely did not do a minute and a half of burpees, I spent a lot of time just lying on the floor lol. It's really good to hear that real life people have made improvements. I do like the idea of crossfit because it seems like there will always be a challenge, no matter what you can always push yourself to go faster or…

Diabetes is high blood sugar, not low. But those do sound like low numbers, it could be hypoglycemia.

I've never heard of someone leaving their food. My boyfriend and I host a 4th of July party every year and I would never expect someone to leave their food. I also don't WANT them to leave their food. I don't need the mess or tons of food. It looks like I'm in the minority though.

I'm guessing 13-15 percent if you use my income after taxes, but it's hard to estimate how much I spend on equipment/clothes/shoes. But I do crossfit, have a regular gym membership, do yoga, and am also part of a run club that isn't free.

Running does help muscle tone. It requires good posture which uses abdominal and back muscles. When I come in from a long run, my abs are often sore the next day. That being said, it's not going to erase stomach fat any faster than any other type of exercise.

I don't think it's overkill, a lot of people do cardio every or most days and strength train 3x per week. My only concern would be, like others said, 1-2 hours on a treadmill sounds awfully boring no matter what distraction you have.

People have been telling me this all of my life. It annoys the hell out of me and I want to smack anyone who says this to me!!! If I don't want to smile that's my own business.

This is probably a troll, but I do think she's seen better days.

I love the alone time and it also gives me un raison d'etre. I love setting new goals and achieving them.

Just make sure she develops (or keeps) healthy eating habits. No need to count calories if she limits junk and eats lots of fruits, veggies, and protein.

I'm down about 17 lbs and so far it's been three months and about 8 days.

Also with the Zip I don't have to worry about the "not tracking while pushing a grocery cart" thing. And I don't like wearing something like that on my wrist.
-
I have the Zip and love it. Sometimes it can be easy to over or underestimate the calories you burn in your daily activities so it gives you a really good idea. Plus it's fun to compete in the challenges with friends. I used the charge HR for three days and sent it back. I had to wear it super high up to get an accurate…

I've never been hit on, I guess because I look like a cat.

Basically. I know you said you don't want to hear about protein shakes, but honestly I've compared my protein shake along with my multivitamin and it's about the same nutrition (with even MORE protein). I just have to add something for a couple extra grams of fiber. So mornings I make myself a shake with my protein and…

I love biking! I think I'm pretty slow as well but that's OK because I enjoy the views :)

Here's my answer! I'm right in the middle of 5'1" and 5'2". Right now I am at 135 - working on losing. If I eat whatever I want and rarely exercise, I stay at 145. I don't like how I feel at this weight. If I get a good amount of exercise and eat a good nutritious diet, it's easy for me to stay around 121. I feel pretty…

It's true that all you NEED for running is yourself. Yes people have been running for years without fancy equipment, clothes or shoes, but those things can make running a lot more comfortable and more likely to stick with. For just starting out, like everyone else I'd suggest good shoes, sunscreen, and a good bra. As you…

I think anyone in any circumstance can be happy...but I don't know if someone can genuinely be happy ABOUT being fat.
-
I don't see what's wrong with wanting to be thin. When I'm thin, my clothes fit me well, and it's easier to find clothes that fit. I don't get holes in my pants from my thighs rubbing together. The thinner I am, the faster I can run. I like how I look when I'm thin. I don't get as hot in the summer when I have less fat on…

That's why I came here.

I eat 1000 calories per day, plus another 400-600.

I remember my 5th grade teacher telling us "women don't want to be called "skinny," that's negative! Women want to be "slim" or "lean." So I think because of that I've always thought of "skinny" as negative. I remember seeing people discuss that awful all about that bass song and of course people were discussing how using…

I've been a yo-yo all my life, either fit and losing/lost weight, or at my fattest. My fattest is 145 lbs, around 31 or 32% body fat. This surprises me, because I feel like I eat a lot if I eat whatever I want, but I've never weighed more than that.

I use protein powder most days, maybe 4 or 5 days per week. They say taking it after a workout can help speed recovery, I don't know if that's true. I use it on days when I can't reach my protein goal, in my morning shake to help keep me fuller longer, and often after I lift in the evening. I use the GNC Amplified protein…
