i participated in a half marathon training program last fall - totally ran my bootay off!! seriously. and after I had worked so hard to build a butt, it was irritating to run it off. BUT it was because I didn't keep up with the strength training! I'm participating in another go round of half training (because I like the…

you need to exceed the protein goal on here in order to build muscle. -- think of the number on here as a minimum.

I don't want my fiance going to the gym with me..... that's my stress relief too and that would just be more stress!

setting a deadline is like setting yourself up for failure. Yes, goals are great, but why do you have to lose 20lbs by may?and so what if you don't? weight loss is NOT linear. You may have three weeks where you lose nothing, and a week where you lose 5lbs. so what. just stick with it.

I have been doing this for two years. it works.

hate it. I was trying to figure out why - because in theory i should like it. But I think it's because I started out doing actual kickboxing (where you are kicking and hitting a person or bag) and I don't like kicking/hitting the air! AND combat is a little too choreographed for my liking. Just a personal opinion - I know…

The weekend usually allows more freedom - during the week your schedule is more regimented with work/school and whatever else you have. I tend to stay relatively structured on the weekend too, but that's just me. However, the moment my fiance isn't on his regular schedule, he forgets simple things like taking his medicine…

I personally look at cereal as kind of empty calories. It's high in carbs, you don't get to eat much of it (an actual serving is tiny), and it doesn't keep you full for long. so I don't eat it. I'd rather get some nutrition and eat something that is going to keep me full so I tend towards eating stuff high in protein.

I can't believe all these 'rules'! I've never heard anyone say " i can't believe so and so only gave us this much, and we spent this much on her food at our wedding!" that's insane! First off, the food/'amenities' they have at the wedding are their choice. no one should ever plan a wedding for their guests, you plan a…

what an a**!! he should be more supportive of you. I think my fiance doesn't really understand me wanting to run races and work out all the time because he's not into it, but he doesn't bully me about it.

I get my mom to get stuff at trader joe's for me before I see her (there's one near her but not near me and I live over an hour from her)...... stuff I ask her to get me..... almond meal almond butter and most recently I asked her to get me some speculoos cookie butter!

i find it really hard to believe that there are no other vegetables you like. seriously. find different ways to cook them,, eat them raw. hide them in protein shakes/smoothies. a healthy diet incorporates veggies. period.

Kickboxing is great - or change it up with metacon stuff. like the spartacus workout. it's fantastic. :) Also, you should be doing a lot of strength training as the long term benefits (fat burn) are higher than the immediate benefits of cardio (calorie burn). Also, running gives a pretty good calorie burn. last weekend's…

I do cardio & lifting. I run three days a week (30 minute runs 2x plus a long run on saturday mornings)..... if you're doing lifting & cardio on the same day, lift first.

I have lost over 100lbs through eating right and exercising. BUT I do not deprive myself. I cheat when I want to. I go to family functions and eat what I want. I work out but I found stuff I like doing and after working with a trainer for a short time i'm on my own. I run with a group right now because I like the long…

weather forecasters were calling for 4-8inches here.... then it dropped to 1-3, then it was back up to 4-8..... however, I saw only a few flakes of snow today so far, and it was 45 today...... weather guys are notoriously bad at predicting for my area for some reason -- I'm in fredericksburg va but they can't predict for…

I was told last february that I should do a half marathon. I literally laughed in that person's face. I had no desire to run. seriously. never had. I ran my first half marathon on nov 10 2012. I ran my second half marathon on dec 9 2012. I kind of started running in like march 2012. but really just did intervals, until…

I don't like doing videos, I go to the gym, or run outside. when i first started though, i was 303.4 (on 1/1/11), and all i did was walk and bike, then I added in kickboxing, lifting, etc..... i started running last year and I love it!! I am currently doing the spartacus workout twice a week. You need weights for this, but…

frozen fruits & veggies are cheaper and will last a lot longer. buy chicken breast in bulk (way cheaper) eggs are cheap canned tuna is inexpensive. also, when buying fresh fruits/veggies, get what's in season - cheaper.

I use the polar ft4, and it's great. the chest strap (which goes under your boobs) is adjustable for size. :)

yep, add to oatmeal, protein shakes/smoothies, baked goods..... whatever you like.

nope doesn't sound off.

as long as your water consumption is spread out over the day, you're fine! the hazard happens when you chug large amounts of water, faster than your body can process it. I drink a ton of water too - and haven't experienced any problems.
-
you're not eating enough.

I started training for a half marathon in august 2012. Ran my first one on Nov 10, 2012. Ran my second one on Dec 9, 2012. Just be committed to the training,.. seriously. I'm currently participating in another half marathong training group - because I like the long group runs on the weekends.... but I'm using it as a jump…

I swear by asics. though (especially if you're running) go get fitted! :)

I'm in the fredericksburg area - feel free to add me!

Yep, I eat anywhere from 1800-2200 on average and have lost over 115lbs. so yea, it works. Of course i do work out 5-6 days a week doing strength training, circuit training, pitaiyo, and running. :)
-
Lately I've been doing spartacus. it's a great fat blaster. I do it twice a week. Do pitaiyo once a week for an hour..... running three times a week (with long runs on saturday morning).... and some other stuff thrown in there. working your lower body is great for shrinking your mid section.
