  • stop weighing so frequently. your weight is going to fluctuate. period. accept it and move on.
  • what keeps me going is how great I feel. I will never go back to my old lifestyle. this is who I am now. someone who eats right, and goes to the gym, runs half marathons, etc. make it who you are. diets don't work. period. it has to be a lifestyle change, then there's nothing to 'fall off of'
  • before races, carb loading includes eating stuff like pasta, bread, rice.... there was a big spaghetti dinner the night before the first half marathon I did. have fun!! :)
  • your diet is full of processed stuff and empty carbs. cut that crap out. eat way more protein, you're not eating nearly enough. just because you're supposedly under your 'calorie' goal doesn't mean you're eating right. and stop doing just cardio. do strength training. someone mentioned putting on muscle while losing fat.…
  • im a runner, feel free to add me.
  • I definitely view it differently. I feel like if I can put in the work and do it without that aid (and really I mean why go put your body through that when it can be done without it) then anyone can. period. I feel like they cheated and tried to take the easy way out - and probably didn't full realize that they had to…
  • instant - ew! eat the old fashioned or steel cut. less processed!
  • the problem with oatmeal (to me) is that there's all those carbs, and no protein to balance it and keep you satisfied longer..... whenever I have oatmeal, I add protein powder to it. works like a charm
  • eat calorie dense foods like avocado or nuts. that will help. but you are eating more because you're eating healthier stuff. funny how that works huh. and so many people think they have to starve themselves to lose weight! idiots.
  • I did my first half marathon in nov 2012, and my second in dec 2012, and I have never been a runner (though I guess I am now). train for it. I trained for three months. Plenty of time to be completely honest. take 2 rest days a week. I mean rest. go for a walk or do an easy yoga class for active recovery, but your body…
  • I was told in february 2012 that I should do a half marathon. I laughed in that person's face and told them absolutely not, I had no desire to run. well then I did. I started out doing intervals, for many months. In August 2012 I got suckered into training for a half marathon. That first week, the long run about killed me.…
  • your diary isn't public so I can't see it but if you were losing weight and then it stopped and you CUT your food, you probably aren't eating enough. Each time I've plateaued I've had to eat more. I'm currently eating 2000+ calories a day.
  • I trained for my first half marathon for three months, and was fine (and it was not flat). then I enjoyed it so much I did another one exactly a month later! ;)
  • I've been doing spartacus 2012 workout.... there's lots of different variations, but no thinking involved, app is on your phone, with timers. boom. work out done!
  • bahaha. seriously. it's your day. screw what your family wants, it's not about them, it's about you. ((speaking as someone who's currently planning my wedding))
  • mmmm... avocado! I like to dice it up and put it on salads, hot spicy dishes (think chili - and I also do beans seasoned with cumin, cayenne, hot sauce and sauteed with tomatoes) .... it's also really good to take about 1/2 cup diced avocado, mix with some diced tomatoes (I use canned/no salt added), and some salsa and…
  • chances are that's just how you're built. I've lost close to 120lbs and still have it - probably always will! I'm not too worried about it, my stomach is my least favorite body part, but I can cover it up at all times, so why stress.... and my fiance doesn't care (even though I sometimes think I look disgusting)
  • they are tasty, and I liked arctic zero because they also had protein in them. but the calorie counts are ridiculously off. they tested a whole bunch (as someone else mentioned) on the today show, and arctic zero was one of the WORST as far as being dishonest about their nutrition information ...... turned me off, and now…
  • You can put pretty much anything in a crock pot and make it delish. right now, in mine, I've got - ground turkey, chicken breast, kale, broccolie, diced tomatoes, black beans, light red kidney beans and chili powder/cumin/minced onions, cayenne pepper....
  • why does it sound interesting? because it is rumored to help you lose weight? because dr oz endorsed it? no thank you. it's actually not that hard to lose weight, BUT if you want some quick fix, go for it - and guess what? in a year, or two, you'll be right back where you are now, maybe worse. people need to stop looking…
  • chicken breast fish turkey eggs it's really not that hard to get protein in. I do protein shakes too. if you're anti protein shakes, then eat protein rich foods. you can't build muscle while at a calorie deficit if you're not eating enough protein, and a lot of people I see on here are not eating enough protein.
  • if you are only 111lbs, are you sure your burns are right?? You have been doing cardio ONLY for some time, and your body has probably become more efficient, therefore, you're burning less calories than you may think. do you get your counts from an hrm? and if you want to be skinny fat, then keep doing cardio. otherwise,…
  • Um, so if you don't like cottage cheese, don't eat it. I like it but don't eat it often because yes, it's 'high' in protein but it's super high in sodium (and there's a billion other protein sources out there).... I eat a lot of plain greek yogurt though, and LOVE it!! it can be used sour as is in place of sour cream, or…
  • seriously, unless you ate an extra 17500 calories last week you DID NOT actually gain 5lbs. if you ate a lot of crap/processed foods all week, you're just holding extra water weight (totally normal) -- eat normally, work out normally.... watch your sodium, and drink plenty of water. re-evaluate next week. it may take you a…
  • they look good, but I'd definitely add some vanilla protein powder to turn them into 'breakfast' because they're not going to have nearly enough as is (they're going to just be carb heavy for no good reason)..... ETA - I'm going to make these, but reduce the oatmeal a bit and add in vanilla protein powder. Thanks for the…
  • Not a britney fan at all, but she looks fantastic.
  • You are best to lose it slowly, and do strength training. I have done that and do not struggle much with 'loose' skin. I still have another 20-30lbs to lose, but things are progressing nicely.
  • currently 28.2%.... would like to get to 20-22%.... coming from 303.4lbs to 186.6lbs, I'm pretty happy with where I'm currently at, working towards my goal. :)
  • you can't exercise your way out of a bad diet. period.
