  • There are two low carb "pastas" (there may be more) that are truly low carb. House foods' tofu shirataki noodles and Pasta Slim's spinach fetticunni noodles. I actually like the pasta slim ones better. I don't have a package in front of me, but they are like 2 net carbs per serving and there's 2 servings per bag. I was put…

  • Have you tried pasta alternatives? I really like tofu shirataki noodles or Pasta Slim's soy noodles. Very low carb and you use them like you would regular pasta.. They take on the flavor of whatever sauce you use. Just tonight, I had the Pasta Slim spinach fettuccini, with chicken, broccoli and light alfredo sauce. Just 12…
  • Hi, I am following the Metabolism Miracle and I think it would be described as a low glycemic eating plan. It's a 3 step program, where you rest, reset, and reprogram your body to release the proper amount of insulin. The most carb controlling step only lasts 8 weeks, and then after that, you slowly and systematically add…
  • Hi, You may have metabolic syndrome, which is characterized by high cholesterol numbers, high blood pressure, and PCOS to name a few. Though your numbers have improved with eating healthy, the problem is processing carbs. Your body over-releases the fat gain hormone, insulin and your high trigycerides number shows there's…
  • Hi, I found out that 50% the population have an alternative metabolism (basically insulin resistance) and don't lose weight following traditonal calories in/calories out diets. For them, its an imbalance of the hormone, insulin. Since May 2011, I've lost 50 pounds of FAT. Went from a size 16 to size 8. I changed the way I…
  • I would say none of the above. I don't know the medical condition you have that makes it hard to lose weight, but I learned that for over 50% of the population, calories in/calories out diets just doesn't work. Weight gain is caused by the fat gain hormone, insulin, and when you get that under control, you will lose…
  • Do you like shrimp? I cook up some shrimp in a pan on the stove and then add some scampi sauce or orange soy marinade (Marinade Bay makes these and they have 1 net carb per Tablespoon). I only need the 1 tablesppon for 6-8oz of shrimp. It's super fast, easy and yummy!
  • Hi, What about plain greek yogurt? 1 cup (8 oz) has about 9 carbs. You can add some fresh fruit, like 5oz of strawberries. It is only another 11 carbs depending on how low carb you want to go. Adding fresh/frozen fruit is much better than the sugar-ridden fruit greek yogurt. As for needing a minimum of 100 carbs per day, I…
  • Hi, Did you know that 50% of the population has an alternative metabolism and the calories in/calories out types of diets, just don't work? Some people can eat healthy, exercise a bunch and still manage to gain weight! Yikes! The Metabolism Miracle was written especically for those of us with an alternative metabolism. By…
  • Hi- I don't have PCOS but am following the Metabolism Miracle (MM) plan for other health reasons, as it helps so many) and it has helped a lot pf people with PCOS. The key is to lower carbs and re-program your body to handle carbs more effectively. I started MM back in May and have lost 35 pounds. And that's 35 pounds of…
  • I had whole wheat flat bread with light salami, cheese and NSA marinara sauce. Baked in the oven for 5 minutes and it was the best "pizza". Only about 225 calories. Added a small spinach salad and some water.
  • Thanks everyone. I was wondering about the water and wasn't sure. I think I'll try that first. I may try the coconut oil or olive oil. I'm trying to stay away from canola oil. I did see some popping corn oil but not too sure about ingredients.
  • Hi princessshaylo- You may want to do some research about Dreamfield's pasta. It is NOT low carb. See this article: http://www.dietdoctor.com/the-dreamfields-pasta-fraud Research has shown that blood sugar levels with Dreamfield's pasta are similar to regular pasta. If the 5 net carb were true, it would have no effect on…
  • I see you live in N. Ca too. Some of the Lucky's stores sell them. I've tried the ones by House Foods. They come in Angel Hair, Spaghetti, and Fettuccine. They are in the vegetable section, usually in a case with the other tofu. I've also seen them in the health food section at Nob Hill. Personally, I don't think they…
  • I love Trader Joe's too! Definitely worth the trip! There are some things that are way cheaper than other regular grocery stores. Baby spinach (12 oz bag @ 1.99). Chopped onions (10 oz for $1.59) Shaped pasta (16 oz for .99) WW organic spaghetti (16 oz for $1.09) Almond Flour/Meal (16 oz for 3.99) Trader Joe's Peanut…
  • Hi- Trader Joe's has all sorts of wonderful food. I get the 2% greek yogurt (low fat & plain-TJ brand) and add in fresh blackberries. I also buy their fat free sour cream (TJ brand). No added ingredients. I also get their pasta sauce. It comes in a can but has no sugar added. Not sure of the sodium content. I also buy…

The author, Diane Kress, calls it Metabolism B. I have followed the plan since May and have lost over 25 lbs. It's a new lifestyle plan not a…
