Hi Debsjeav I would really like to have a Garmin Vivosmart HR and one day I will save up enough pennies but at the moment I have the Garmin Vivofit which I love and does everything for me except the heart rate of course though I can use a chest band HRM with it if I wanted to. My name on Garmin Connect is Nette_54 the same…

Looks like great info thank you, just haven't the time to read it all now As far as " starvation mode " is concerned I am a believer in it as I tried to lose weight for years but never succeeded in fact I gained more weight. A few years ago I had an accident so had to have physio and also a dietitian came to visit me at my…

Hello from Queensland

I am so pleased this post came up as I have been wondering which way to go myself regarding the iPhone 5 or the Galaxy, I love my iPhone 4 but it is on its last legs and contract it due to finish but I do like the look of the Galaxy phone, My one concern with the Gallaxy is that is such a big phone, I keep my phone in my…

I use my food scales every time I eat if needed, mine are digital scales that I put the bowl or plate on then set the scale to zero each time so less messing around because I can use any dish I like, I can even weigh one lot of food then reset to zero again when I want to add something else. My daughter bought my scales…

As everyone else has suggested ask for the dressings and things on the side so you can dip or pour the amount you want to use or better still have no dressings at all. I go out for lunch every Thursday with a group of people and most of the places we go serve chips with the meals so I ask for them in a bowl on the side so…

That is a great idea ! As everyone has said it is hard to get back into the flow if you have a break. Over Christmas I had no intentions of "dieting " but I still logged in each day to see how my friends were going and I just logged Quick Calories each day but adding an extra 500, 600 calories so I still went back into the…

water aerobics is a great way to go ! As Vmgals said do shorts walks as far as you can and try to go for longer every couple of days till you can go quite a bit even if it is just walking up and down your hall so you get stronger. Check with your doctor if it is okay to do that too. I have walking problems myself and it…

Hello cecpetzzz, I am 58 and had a hysto too but a few years ago now. One bit of advice which I give everyone is don't try eating only 1200 calories as it isn't enough 1200 is the minimum you should have ! I have had doctors, dietitians, my gym and a personal trainer tell me the same thing so must be something too it. I…

fantastic, I look forward to the day I can say I have lost 120 pounds too ! !

I have lost 39 lbs in 12 months but I have a lot of health issues that slowed me up and I got stuck on a plateau for a few months but back in the flow again. Just remember not to do it too fast or the weight will just pile back on again. I still have a very long way to go too
-
@ Katrina_88 1100 calories is no where near enough in a day ! As I said before your body will be in starvation mode and storing your calories as fat. Aim for around 1400 calories a day
-
Hi, I must say at the start of your weight loss your calorie intake was way too low but I see it has improved a lot. I go to Curves the ladies gym and they have told me to eat atleast 1400 calories a day. I was also seeing a dietitian a few years ago after an accident and she told me I was way too low on calorie intake so…

Why do people have protein shakes anyway are they had as well as ordinary meals ?
-
yes they are meal replacement shakes, I always forget there is a difference

I have been stuck on a plateau myself for a while but part of it has been my fault having had a few things I shouldn't. There things to keep an eye on though 1) have plenty of water at least 8 glasses ( I have not been so that has been one of my problems so have been pushing it the past few days ) 2) make sure you eat…
