Thanks y'all!! I was actually shocked when I saw he was still making videos!! LOL. I used to love his old stuff so hopefully this one will be fun too. This one comes with resistance bands that are incorporated into the kickboxing routines so I'm excited!!

Thanks guys! I've done some research but I just wanted to get info straight from the horses' mouth... The REAL truth.

I enjoyed the sew-ins!! They allowed me to keep my hair braided down to prevent/reduce damage and still have the "look" of hair. I would highly recommend a sew-in if you're in need of style to get you through workouts, or cornrows. I've just had sew-ins for 6 months and I'd like to finally let my hair down and let it…

Yeah, that's why I've kept sew-ins for about 6 months because I knew it was best to just keep my hair braided up. But now my hair needs to breathe and I don't want to start damaging it. It's funny how people think that Black women use their hair as an excuse to not workout but it's REALLY an issue!!

I'd suggest not say anything directly to her about it BUT there are indirect methods of reaching her... Like, casually offering her some of your healthy snack or food options and really ranting and raving about how good, yet healthy, it is. Or talking to a group of people at work (hopefully including her in the…

Looking great... Keep it up!! Seeing this makes me realize that now I REALLY don't have an excuse not to get up and workout today!! If you did it at over 500 pounds, I can do it too!!

My concern is that I just wonder how far these accommodations are going to go (bigger rollercoaster seats, more heavy duty elevators, more escalators, more moving walkways like in the airport, etc.) and how much they will end up costing us tax payers to do it all. And like KBGirts said, I also wonder how many people who…

LOL. Thank you!! I really didn't feel the need to explain myself to him but thank you for (hopefully) clearing it all up! LOL. I am not going to wade through 200 posts every few minutes just to find the one I was commenting on when I can have it right here.
-
Okay... You can either comment on the post or not- it's your choice.
-
Agreed!

I haven't seen other posts on here with this topic so forgive me if I am being redundant. And no, I wouldn't say that I am trying to stir the pot but more so just facilitate a discussion. Like I said, this topic was brought up on another thread I was on but due to the number of other comments and conversations that were…

Yeah, see and I think that's what the movement is supposed to be about... Everyone finding their inner beauty and not letting either their own or society's pressures and standard of beauty dictate the way they think and feel about themselves-- I love that as well!! I just know that there are many, many men and women who…

Good point!

Yeah, see I am on the fence about it... I think that the underlying goals/mission of the movement is awesome (and touch on a lot of what Valera0466 talked about) but I think that, as with everything, we are going to have those people who take the movement out of context and in fact do choose to use it as an excuse to be…

I've been slacking lately but at one point I completely cut out fried foods and sugary drinks. Now, I eat smaller portions, I pack my lunch with lots of snacks to munch on throughout the day, and I've tried to do more meatless meals (or fish instead of the heavier meats).

LOL. Too funny! I haven't seen the infomercials in a while... All I see now is Insanity, and maybe some P90X in there.
-
LOL. Is that even still around??
-
Yeah I've heard that it's 80% diet and 20% workout. That was quite shocking to me when I learned about it but I am a witness that it's true. I lost most of my weight while on crutches after a knee surgery. Changing my food intake was definitely the key to jumpstart it all!!
-
Yeah, I have Insanity. I had knee surgery a little while ago so I'm not quite ready for that just yet!! Lol
-
LOLOL. My apologies!!
-
Thanks! I'll do that.
-
Yeah, I've heard circuits are the best way to go! What is a suspension trainer?? I had knee surgery a little while ago so IDK about the jump ropes but I'm definitely going to get on that when my body feels up to it! I just started doing the step classes at my gym and I love it! Yeah I can burn around 600 calories just in…

I agree that BMI calculations suck, it doesn't account for a lot of things, but honestly, I feel like a lot of women of color like to use our uniquely shaped/proportioned bodies as excuses to remain overweight and unhealthy. *Don't pull out your guns and pitch forks nah!* Yes, Black women are more curvy and volumptuous…

Thanks for the suggestions ladies!! It's really making me think about the best course of action here. See... wrapping my hair during (or after) the workout still doesn't seem to help much. My hair still doesn't lay as flat, or look as shiny, as it normally would AND my hair sometimes flies out the of wrap at the top during…
-
Okay, so honestly I do nothing with my hair... I wrap it at night and wear it down during the day so I have no idea about the protein in my hair. I don't even wash my own hair... I let my beautician take care of all that stuff. *embarrassed* Typically when I workout with my hair I just wear a ponytail but after even a few…

Thanks for the suggestion! So what does the wrap/band do... Why so impressed?? :o)
