This site helps me keep with it, I know you will do well also. Welcome!

Hello! This site is great; welcome!
-
I am a little late to the post but... Sturge is the beginning of my maiden name, Sturgeon. It was also my dad's nickname when he was growing up and a kid of one of his friends who knew me in high school started calling me that. 161 came about when I signed up for one of my first email addresses when I was 16 but I didn't…

Now this is something I might actually eat (I am a VERY picky eater and I don't cook). Thanks!
-
I have the same goals - 10 lbs and my worst enemy is snacking. I chew a lot of gum instead now.
-
Well I am joining the challenge today because this is the first day I noticed this post but actually I haven't weighed myself for about 2 weeks since I don't own a scale. I am going to have to weigh myself over Thanksgiving because that will be the first time I will be around a scale but I will be ok with that since by…

Good for you! You have come to the right place. Read the blogs for a ton of good advice and motivation, log all of your meals and don't get mad at yourself if you have a bad day- we all do! Welcome!

Any kind of sugary candy. Logging my intake on this site helps curb my eating so does having to workout more to make up for it! LOL!
-
Congrats on the 10lbs and the wedding. I on the other hand was happy that my dress was a lace up in the back because I bought it a year before I got married and I probably grew a dress size. It still looked good though- how can the bride not look good, right?

Gum helps a lot or else I eat something sweet and workout harder. I have a hard time passing up candy!
-
I agree also. I feel that if I do something above and beyond my normal day then I earned the right to eat more calories.
-
Stay positive and just keep trying. Isn't there the saying that slow and steady wins the race? You can do it!
-
I wish I was able to create something beautiful like that. Keep painting and I can't wait to see your next masterpiece!

My husband is 5'9 130lbs and he gets the anorexic talk every time he goes to the doctor. He eats a lot but it is just in his genes. Keep trying and in the meantime stay healthy which is the most important thing.

Well I ate 6 boxes of nerds (the little boxes) over the past 2 days. We ran out of candy and I am glad because I have no willpower!
-
It's nice to meet you and I am sure you will love this site like we all do. Good luck!
-
I am sure the week also gave you great motivation with so many people giving you such great compliments. I think all of us need that also to keep our spirits high when we get down on what we are eating and the fact that we HAVE to work out again!! :)
-
I don't post very much but I love to read what everyone has to say. I also feel like I am getting to know people a little and that is pretty cool. It is a nice safe place where you don't feel like you are writing to creepy online predators!!!!! Everyone on this site is pretty cool and it is funny because even though I…

Wow! I guess that is one more reason to keep working out. It will make it easier and easier to burn calories. Thanks for the info!
-
If I rollerblade for 30 minutes and burn x number of calories, is this all the calorie-burning benefits I get from the exercise? Or does the exercise also boost my metabolism for a while which in turn increases the number of calories I burn that day in addition the the initial x calories burned while rollerblading?
-
Well that just means that now you are going to have to be extra good for a stretch right? Keep trying and you will make it! Everyone falls off the wagon once in a while, the people who jump right back on and keep working are the ones who do the best in the long run.
-
Thanks! I will have to give these a try on a day I don't want to leave the house!
-
I would normally be the same way as you where I would get bored at night and that is when I start snacking. Now, I do my working out mainly at night after I get home from work since I am not a morning person. Once I am done working out I feel so good about myself that I don't want to snack and ruin what I just did. Also, I…

Another site I use which has a lot of good calorie info for restaurants is Calorie King. http://www.calorieking.com/foods/ Once in a while, they won't have something for a place I have been so then I use my best guesses and err on the side of more calories than less. I hope this helps!
-
Thanks for the info, I love those types of stories. If you can get to a dark area for these occurances, usually you will see a good show!
-
This is a great site - I hope it helps!

I am 27 years old and when I started last month I was 132. I am now at 125 but my goal is about 115-118 but more importantly, I want to see some muscle and not doughy skin. About 5 years ago I got down to 112 due to rollerblading daily but I doubt that will be possible again. I also want to create better habits- I used to…

I live in an apartment and we have a workout room so I guess I will be there more often. I try to do some video workouts but I live on the 3rd floor and I don't want my poor downstairs neighbors to have to listen to me jump around. Also, in Virginia, we rarely get snow so maybe I can continue rollerblading sometimes.
-
I agree it is nice to see the same names day after day. I plan on staying at the site once I reach my goal as well. I need to keep reminding myself that moderation is key.

Excellent new features, Mike. You rock as always!
