  • You're eating FAR too few calories!!!! You should be MINIMUM 1200 calories. Eat more and reap the benefits! When your body gets too few calories in a day it goes into starvation mode and everything that goes in your mouth gets converted to fat.

  • I've learned that the best thing you can do is to eat clean. That means FRESH fruits and veggies, along with lean meats. The less processed food you consume, the better results you'll get, the better you'll feel, and the more you can eat and stay within your calorie goals. When I don't follow it, it shows in my weigh ins,…
  • I probably would have said "Oh man, these look SO good, but too bad they're not on my diet. I'll take a bite because they look so scrumptious, but if you pass the word to the other coworkers that I've got free cookies at my desk, I'll bet they're gone in seconds!"
  • The endorphin kick you'll get from the exercise will improve your mood. It's like good mood medicine! Go take your medicine! ;o)
  • I think the best thing you can do, and it's really worked for me, is to KEEP logging your food....even if you KNOW you're failing hard at it. It gives you some perspective. I don't think that healthy eating is all about deprivation and willpower. It's about learning to enjoy the "bad" foods less often, without cutting them…
  • I was told that hormones are stored in fat cells. As you lose weight, the hormones are released from the fat cells that were storing it.
  • A gal in one of my chat groups had almost identical symptoms and it was a Crohn's disease flare-up. Hopefully that's not what it is though.
  • I never count daily chores as exercise, unless it goes above and beyond what I'd been doing. I'd need to break a serious sweat to ever include it.
  • Are you about due for that time of the month? That usually does it for me.
  • I read an artlcle recently that says if you're not going to the bathroom every 1.5 hrs, you're not getting enough water.
  • My mom had one when she was 35, leaving her ovaries in there. Her hormones acted normally, but she didn't have to deal with the nasty 2 week periods and spotting in between. I never remember her talking about side effects, except that she still got mild cramps around that time of the month, but it was nothing compared to…
  • If errands are what's hindering your workouts, here's what you can do: 1) Tell them "Sorry, but I was just heading to the gym. I won't be able to get that for you today." 2) Tell them "Sorry, but I was just heading to the gym. I won't be done until 6 p.m. I could maybe pick it up after I'm done, if that's not too late?…
  • I'm too distracted by your Wax!Rob to respond.....heehee
  • That's awesome!!!! The same thing happened to me. I've only lost 16 lbs and four people told me today that my pants are getting too big.
  • If I had money, I would hire a personal chef. LOL
  • You're not at square one, because you aren't where you were when you started. Every single one of us backslides a time or two, but instead of giving up, or feeling like a failure, you just need to KEEP TRYING! I might fall off the wagon briefly for a day or two (or three), but then I realize what I'm doing and keep on…
  • I know that at our local Anytime Fitness, you get a free personal trainer for the first three months. They write up an exercise program for you and help you track your measurements and fitness levels. They show you proper form as well. Then you're on your own after that.
  • As far as food goes, I refuse to "give up" anything. It's not about denial, it's about learning moderation. I don't have to have five glasses of soda per night. I can have one every few days. I don't have to eat an entire bag of chips, I can have exactly the serving size listed on the container and nothing more.
  • 1. I would tell her next time she calls "Sorry, I am/was in the middle of a workout. I work out between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., so if you call and I don't answer the phone, you know why." (If you're feeling really brave, say "If you ever want to join me for a workout, let me know! I think it'd be fun to have a workout…
  • I decided to be proactive and told people about how I was trying to lose weight and said "Wouldn't it be nice if we could eat lower calorie versions of the same foods we know and love?" The idea planted a seed in everyone in the lunch room and now we try to outdo each other to see who can bring in the healthier dish! We…
  • If you're eating because you're honestly hungry, then find some low-fat/low-cal snacks to keep around for those moments. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water in the evenings. I was able to curb some of the cravings by sipping from a water bottle. Just the act of hand-to-mouth was enough. If you're eating because…
  • Make ahead meals that can be zapped in the microwave. I used to work three jobs, was a single mom who never missed a game, AND I was in four choirs and I still managed to have time to cook a simple meal. If healthful eating is important to you, you'll MAKE the time...even if it's reheating leftovers from a day when you DID…
  • During the week, usually 7 hours. If I'm having insomnia, usually around 4 hours. On the weekends, I get between 10-12 hours....and it's AHHHHHHHHHmazing!
  • I've had the same problem and can no longer run because of it. I do walk really fast instead, which doc said would burn as much, if not more, than running. It'll take a few weeks (took 6 for me) to be able to get up and moving again. Whatever you do, take it SLOW and listen to your doctor! Also, take FULL advantage of any…
  • Everyone's different. I can't eat or drink anything more than a 1/2 hour before I work out or I'll be puking (stupid reflux). But everyone else's ideas sound good, if you can handle it!
  • Have you had kids in the past? Sometimes the gut truly never goes away after that. My gut used to look caved in, it was so slim. After my son, even when I was at my lightest and doing every ab exercise under the sun, the gut never went totally away.
  • Log your food. I guarantee that you think you're doing fine, but you're really not. I never gave much thought to calorie counting and portion sizes. I just figured if you ate healthy foods that was enough. Boy was I ever wrong. Now I'm eating healthy foods in the proper sizes, getting regular exercise, and drinking plenty…
  • Just start today! Don't look back too much on how you failed. PLAN how you'll succeed instead! Look at your schedule this week and say "How can I make this next week/weekend better?" You can do it!
  • Sounds like a good plan. I am the Master Procrastinator too, but I'm slowly learning how to motivate myself, instead of waiting for others to do it for me. You can do it!
  • I'm in the same boat with you. I just started walking the neighborhood. I don't really do well with indoor exercise (unless it's the dead of winter). Check freecycle.org for someone that may be giving away their exercise equipment. (I've raked in a TON of exercise equipment that way) Do Netflix streaming and try different…
