Hi Everyone!

I was riding high all last week, hittin the gym about 4 times for hour + workouts! I had the same all geared up for this week and then today I have hit a funk. No real rhyme or reason, just, not on the top of my game. So here I am, T-minus 1 hour till I leave work and am suppose to hit the gym...and I can hear the lil voice in my head starting to say "you really don't feel like it...you're having a yucky day....its ok, just skip it for today...you've been doing so well, you can afford a day off" Now Ive been down this road before and I know that it doesnt get better, one skipped workout turns into 2, then 3 and before I know it, I havent been at the gym in weeks! Any tips for motivation, so I can get there, feel good, and continue my string of gym visits? I'd really appreciate it!!! :)

You will NEVER regret getting your butt to the gym for a workout, but you will ALWAYS regret later not going ( unless you are sick)
Go in, get your gym session in.... and you will be thankful you did!

These doubtful thoughts are old habits trying to come back, fight it off and go!

Go do your workout! You will feel better afterwards, and feel great about yourself for doing it even without "motivation"!

Just do it. Motivation not required.

I try to consider how I'll feel later in the day. I know If I workout I'll feel really good about myself, but I know if I skip a day that I had time and opportunity, I'll feel guilty for not taking advantage.

So feel good or feel guilty?...time to lace those running shoes :)
  • When I feel like that (which is quite often) I picture myself looking and feeling my absolute best when I've hit the weight and the size I'm aiming for. I know that if I work out every day with no breaks and stick to my daily calorie goal without cheating, I will get there.

Go to the gym and keep going regularly, it'll become second nature. Just as lambeas said, you will be thankful you did.

The endorphin kick you'll get from the exercise will improve your mood. It's like good mood medicine! Go take your medicine! ;o)

If you don't go when scheduled then next time you'll have to do that workout too or equivalent ON TOP of your workout for that day...

Also...skipping it will get you nowhere fast! Going will get you places fast!
  • Sorry today was yucky...but turn it into LUCKY because that is how you will feel after you work out! Try to do just ten minutes....and once you get going, I guarantee you will be so glad that you got to the gym that you finish your workout!!!

Tell yourself you'll only guarantee 30 min if you go to the gym. Once inside, you'll do your hours' worth. Just need to psych yourself into the gym

Remember: The ones who will be successful are the ones who do it even when they don't want to!!!

You know that once you get there and get started you will have a good time and be happy you did it. Do it for your future self. Working out is not hard..... the hardest part is just getting out the door and on your way to the gym.

Sometimes I ask myself what I'm going to do if I don't work out. It's usually sit on the couch and relax.... what a waste of time. You will feel guilty later for doing that!
  • Yes it can be hard, and no one said there would not be days like this - I just don't want to do this! ... ..my friend once you get your butt through those gym doors, and get going, you will be happy you did! I've had many a days where I just didn't want to go exercise, what gets me to the gym is this - just one more workout to being that much closer to my goal :) You can do it GIRL!! I have faith in you!! Maybe you need to jump ship to my gym - you'd love it, and we could be workout pals!! I love my gym and I love exercising - I'm getting addicted to it LOL
