Welcome back! Please keep us posted about Beautiful BadAss. I'm dying of curiousity about it. Do I understand correctly that it is only $34?

I sometimes take a 10 to 15 second break before pulls 4 and 5. And I often take the same break before the 4th and 5th rep with squats. Please tell me I haven't been "failing" at these weights the whole time!!!

Workout B last night. It's official---C25k is killing my squats. But honestly, that's ok with me. I was able to do 115 (instead of 125). If I have to go down a little for awhile I just will. The tradeoff is greater cardiovascular fitness from the running, and I feel like I need that. This might sound dumb, but I just feel…

Both seriously amazing and seriously funny at the same time. You just made my day, Tameko. (And I'm totally stealing that line).
-
I agree. Try where you left off, but don't be shy about deloading if you need to. I took a week off once and had to go down on squats, but was ok with everything else.

Well, I kinda sorta rested. No official workout, but I still had to mow the lawn and walk the dog. I slept really well last night, though, so hopefully c25k week 1 day 3 goes well tonight. And seriously--that's impressive. If there is nothing in you that wants to and you still do itBAMF!!!

I got lifting chalk and new running shoes for Mother's Day. And, of course, a necklace and chocolate. :drinker:

I had a pretty awful workout yesterday. But I'm exhausted, so I'm pretty sure that's way. Plan was to squat 125, but the warmups felt super hard at 105, so I decided to just do 115 for the work weight. That was tough enough! I did manage to bench 94 and row 88, but man, I was spent afterwards. I think adding C25k is…

This is so awesome. Feeling like a BA parent is a good feeling!
-
@Fish: Oh goodness! I hope you recover quickly. I took self-imposed week off and had to deload squats when I came back, but everything else stayed the same. @Dani: Yay on the PRs! Keep pushing with the c25k, running buddy. I have to push day 2 back to Saturday as there is no time for it in my schedule today and tomorrow is…

Did my first C25k workout last night. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. And I can walk this morning. So I call it success. Workout B tonight. Plan is Squat at 122, OHP at 70, deads at 182. I'm curious how my legs will respond after the running. Maybe I'll try this ice cream thing . . . . . .

Holy Moly Ges, you are shrinking! Great work---and its wonderful to hear that you are FEELING better too!
-
@Dani I just decided to try C25K too! Tonight is my first session. Check back tomorrow to see whether I throw in the towel or not. I'm so with you----I'm tired of counting calories, but I feel like I need a little more than just SL. I also kind of feel like I SHOULD be in good enough cardio shape to run a 5k if I…

I struggle with my belly too. I try to own it, and be proud of it and the three children that came out of it. But I so envy those young things with flat abs . . . . .

So I helped out at an aid station for my local marathon on Sunday, and I feel like I've caught a little running bug. I think I'm going to try adding Couch to 5K on my SL off days. I'm afraid it is going to hurt my lifting a little, but we'll see. I have no desire to ever run a marathon, but a nice little 5K this fall would…

@cleo, you are one strong chick. Very inspirational. So I missed my Wednesday workout because I was wallowing in self-pity all day. Ate some chocolate and slept and got that out of my system. And hit the weights last night. Squats 120 3x5, Bench 92.5 3 x5, Rows 85 3x5. Was wiped out after but proud. Still wishing some of…

Squat 130 Yes! I can squat my weight! OHP 60....but it felt good and somewhat easy. I guess that's progress. Deadlift 160. [/quote] Go Macy! Squatting your weight is VERY impressive.

I was rowing to above my boobs, then read somewhere (I think in Starting Strength, as that is my lifting Bible) that you actually are supposed to pull into your abdomen. So now I pull under the girls. And this new way feels more natural and allows me to move more weight.
-
I needed fractionals very early with the OHP too. I bought six 2 in diameter washers from Fastenal. I think it cost me $24 with shipping. Totally worth it. edit: Actually if you search through the forum topics, I asked this quesiton there and several persons gave me the link. Might be helpful for you. I think the title was…

I'll go! Squat: 135 Bench: 97 Row: 90 Press: 70 Dead: 200 Walk at least 5 times per week. Do yoga at least one time per week. Eat between 1800 and 2000 cals. Oh, and rock my new red bikini as I turn 40 all strong and sassy.

@chubby checkers: Congrats on finishing round 1! You posted some awesome numbers there.

I really noticed I was getting too tired when I was trying to lift every other day and not taking the two days rest. I recommend more rest! And on the cardio, I've given up on just about everything except walking the dog.
-
Good for you! OHP is a tough lift for a lot of women. I really struggled to get to 60. But then I did, and now I'm slowly going up each week. It's crazy but fun.

@vegas: Love the new profile pic. You are so pretty!

just jumping in to keep up. This thread moves fast. Did workout B today. Due to a math error, I squatted 117.5 instead of 112.5. I thought it was a little heavy, but my form was good. And then when I realized I can't add, I was quite happy. 66.5 (that half makes all the difference!) OHP, and then 178.5 Deads. I am going to…

Hi and welcome. I say go for it--the stronger you are the better. And I found the app just by searching for Stronglifts on my iPhone. I think that's actually the name of it.

Good for you!

A for me today. Stayed at 110 on squats to work on my squat form, and I FINALLY feel like I got it. I think i was trying to stay too vertical before. Leaning a bit keeps the bar in a vertical path over the middle of my foot. Ripp would be proud. Bench was tough but got 3 sets of 92.5. And rows at 83. Felt good. And…

@darkswan: My hands are slipping on deads. I workout at home and don't have any chalk. I tried cornstarch last night and it worked ok, although it was a little messy. It is amazing how a better grip helps! I pulled 176 fairly easily once I had good grip.
