  • Trust me, the Recovery is difficult. Slow push ups are a killer. You won't burn as many calories but it is hard and I recommend you do the Recovery the first month. The overall totality of the program makes it necessary. For example, on Wednesday, you will feel the pain from Monday. By the way, I'm on day 75 of the program.
  • Hi, I'm on day 75 of Insanity and just came back from 10 days in Orlando. You can and should keep doing your workouts on vacation. I digitized the videos, uploaded them to my iPad and went with it. Both my wife and I stayed with it. We used the workout facility or in the room as long as no one is in the room below you. No…
  • I agree with Carrie. You can try to manage the fat by using a supplement but the 74g is about right. Also, according to recent research, at 38% body fat, you only need 651 calories (31 calories per lb of fat) to sustain your current lean body mass. Of course, you should never go below 1200 calories otherwise you will never…
  • feel free to add me. I should tell you that it won't always be warm fuzzies! Without exercise intensity, you won't see significant success. I think its 80% food discipline, 20% exercise if you want to move the needle.
  • All great advice. Make your own food. My wife grills up a bunch of chicken 1 day a week, so low fat protein is always available. I also use an appetite suppressor and 200mg of caffeine each day to control hunger. This works so well, even as I write this, I have to try to get my last 1,200 calories for the day...and I'm not…
  • go ahead and eat it if you want it....just make up the difference in excercise...
  • I personally would not purchase it. For recovery, I use BCAAs (Monster Amino) and protein. Often a cup of milk with 1 scoop of protein in it. If you are taking in carbs, then even a sports drink will do the job, after a workout the body uses carbs immediately as fuel, so it won't go to fat. Post workout 20grams protein and…
  • It would seem you could resolve this within 2 days. On day 1 wear your monitor all day and note the result. On day 2 wear your monitor AND do your exercise.... I, however, only factor the calories I have eaten and the calories I burn during exercise.
  • Hello, I had a similar problem. I was burning 1000-1200 calories per workout 3 or 4 times a week with no weight changes. In January, I had my annual check up and asked for a copy of my lab results. Basically, I determined I was in Insulin Resistance (google it). I did the following: 1 - For 10 days I reduced my carbs to 30…
  • Hello, your rate of burn is based on your weight and heart condition. Many factors will impact your total. For example, if you have low oxygen consumption (Asthma) your heart coulc be working harder. I am 6'5", 259lbs male. Yesterday I road the bike for 60 minutes and burned 1000 calories. Went back today, after 30 minutes…
  • Well, I also use a Polar HR monitor but I entered my own values. I recommend you take your true resting heart rate in the morning while laying in bed BEFORE getting out of bed. Once you have that Resting Heart Rate enter your values into an online calculator. There are a bunch of calculators and methods. I prefer the…
  • Try protein (I like Monster Milk Vanilla Creme) use cold water and a mixer to really fluff it up. Also Apple Pectin fiber supplement is an appetite suppressor. Of course, drink water. A lot of water. If you are doing weight training, it does make you more hungry
  • Great suggestions. Some background. I am 6'5" 261lbs. I allow 1770 calories per day and burn around 1300 5 days per week. A Couple of simple suggestions that have helped me. First thing each morning 20 oz of water, 50 grams of protein (Monster Milk Vanilla Creme) and a supplement Apple Pectin 500mg, a type of fiber. Does…
  • it depends on the vitamin or supplement. what many people may not understand is that different doses of vitamins or supplements dramtically change how the body processes it. Check out a clinical study website www.ergo-log.com. The site provides clinical study results for many vitamins and supplements. Also last note, each…
