  • I'm in Michigan, and I've heard of him (good things). I recommend asking this on a WLS forum like RNYtalk.com.
  • I ended up creating a standing desk. It forces me to move around when working, but it isn't as noisy as a treadmill. I talk on the phone a lot when I'm working, so I didn't want the treadmill noise. Because my standing desk is a stacked on a regular desk, I can sit down and work too if I choose. I like using my standing…
  • Trying to figure out what size I am when I go shopping. I never know because it changes. I have to try everything on. I can't just grab something off the rack and buy it.
  • Be aware of your hip and thigh size since those will interfere with rollercoasters that have seatbelts or those bars that come down. Most amusement parks have the size restrictions right on their web site. I had to walk off the Millennium Force at Cedar Point once because my butt was too big to get the seatbelt to latch. I…
  • I don't lie on my food diary, but I haven't been recording my exercise. I don't eat my exercise calories, so I quit recording the exercise that I am doing. I might start again, but I feel like exercising overestimates the calories burned, and I don't like how it shows a negative intake for a day. I have had days where I…
  • You can change your goals to something more custom. It doesn't let you change it completely, but you can change what you track and the levels. It keeps things in perspective though, so I've found if I really want to track my protein, I can get that where I want but other things are off because the default keeps protein a…
  • I just recently discovered Healthy Choice's frozen Greek yogurt. It's good and has protein. You'll find it by all of the Healthy Choice foods in the frozen food department. I also like Babybel cheese, mozarella cheese sticks, almonds, jerky or a protein bar.
  • I own the Kindle Keyboard, the Kindle Touch and the Kindle Fire. I read books on my Kindle Keyboard. I love how light it is and how many books it holds. I use my Kindle Fire to play games and read magazines and photo-heavy books; I also like how quickly the Kindle Fire loads, so I can get online fast. I frequently use it…
  • I took phentermine in 1999, and I was successful in losing the weight. I lost inches faster than pounds while on it. My appetite was almost nonexistent. I gained the weight back. I tried the pills a couple times after that, and they didn't work as well. While taking the pills, I had trouble sleeping. I would take them…
  • I had vertical sleeve surgery last August, which is a different surgery than the two you mention above. It involves removing 80 percent of my stomach. While I was healing from my surgery, I was on a liquid diet for about a month and then mushies (soft foods) for another couple of weeks. In the weeks before and after the…
  • The risk of death is definitely a cop out. I'm so glad you pointed that out (Please note my sarcasm button is turned on here.)
  • Try some of the different protein drinks. I ordered some from bariatric Choice, which has a website. I like the bariwise fruit drinks, and the strawberry banana shake as well as hot chocolate. They taste good and have about 15 grams of protein. They help keep my protein levels in check.
  • My name is Linda, and I had sleeve surgery August 9, 2011. I've lost 52 pounds so far. I hope to lose another 50 to 60 pounds. I started at 255, and I am just a couple of pounds away from Onderland. I'd like to get below 150, and I currently have my goal set at 140. My surgery and recovery have been very smooth. I haven't…
