  • I switched to the TDEE cut method to lose the last 3-4 pounds and begin to start gaining muscle. TDEE: 2088 Cut: 1880 (Moderate exercise with a 10% cut since I was so close to goal weight) BMR: 1347. Since June, I lost my remaining 4 pounds and am now basically at goal weight and hover between 124-127. I'll be switching to…
  • I echo the praise for Supreme 90. Good mix of strength with some cardio and the set of DVD's was about $20 on amazon. I also have a few Jackie Warner DVD's that I enjoy. bodyrock.tv is a free site with 12 minute workouts posted almost daily. Lot of body weight exercises like you want - squats, lunges, push ups but all…
  • Every P90x workout is at least an hour, plus there's a core video that you add on from time to time. We have it, but I never have enough time consistently to do the videos, so I do the kickboxing or plyometrics workouts here and there. I think P90 focuses even more on strength training, so I would definitely up your…
  • Exactly. Always aim to eat 2194 daily and only worry about netting under your BMR if you burn a lot of calories.
  • I just finished up a diet break week. I didn't take a full rest week from exercise, but i did dial it down a little bit. Didn't do as hard as workouts or as many. Back on the horse tomorrow :)
  • My wedding's not until April, but since I'm doing everything in a hotel, they've given me a standard timeline. We are expecting about 75 people. 530-6 - Ceremony - civil ceremony - short and sweet 6-7 - Cocktail Hour - also some family pictures 7-9 - Dinner which includes cake cutting & serving and the toasts 9-11 - 3…

  • Got it. I misread your first post - thought you wanted to end the whole thing at 8. Yeah that seems like a typical timeline. Just make sure you have a list of all the little traditions (toasts,1st dance, cake) that you want to do or not so that you include it all without feeling rushed. My dinner is set to go from 630-830…

  • Is there going to be a DJ? Doesn't seem to be a lot of time for dancing if dinner is at 6 and you want to end at 8.

  • That schedule is similar to my wedding in April. 530pm-11pm beginning with the ceremony and going straight into the cocktail hour at 6. Lots of time for eating and dancing. We're doing our pictures before the ceremony because if I'm paying for open bar, I'm not missing a moment :) I'm going to a wedding in Nov with a…

  • Yes! All my jeans have some kind of baggy knee situation. Thunder thigh girls unite! The worst thing about big calves is having to shell out extra money for wide calf winter boots :(
  • True, but what I'm getting from the juniors shoppers here is that every single item of clothing from every single designer that does not create juniors clothes is frumpy - which is not true. That's as judgy as the OP. I covet weekend wear by Paltrow, Aniston, Bilson - not frumpy.
  • I think the key is wear what fits and what's age-appropriate or work appropriate. I'm amazed that I even have to tell an intern (at an office) not to wear her Forever 21 bandage mini skirt into work. Don't be stuck on fitting into the correct number size, just wear what fits and looks good. If it fits, you will look a…
  • There are a couple warm-ups that I found on the bodyrock site - 1 is from 2011 with Zuzana and the other 2 were posted recently by Lisa. There was one 7-9-11 min workout she posted in August. So I'll generally do one of those before the actual workout. Or I just set my timer to 30/5 x 8 sets and do some jumping around and…
  • Thanks for posting these. All the recipes sound tasty! I started making protein bars and balls, but I find the bars so difficult to eat because they're no-bake and they melt into goo piles. I need something more portable.
  • Aim to eat full-calorie, full-fat foods and you can increase cals and others relatively quickly. Full fat greek yogurt with some granola and almonds, or protein shake mixed with yogurt or milk, banana and peanut butter. Additional protein will also help with strength training and muscle recovery.
  • I do the same as the other posters - focus on my protein first. I always try to get over 100g and close to 118 as possible (actual MFP amount) each day. My macros are 45c/20p/35f.
  • I plan on taking my diet break next week. I've been on cut for about 6 weeks, so my plan is 1 break week every 6 going forward.
  • Does anyone know the difference in those 2 scooby calculators? I used this one to figure out and currently consume 1880 for a 10% cut: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ The other scooby calculator, the accurate calculator has me at 1784 cals for a 10% cut.
  • If I focus my meals and snacks on incorporating some protein, then I'm not nearly as hungry as if I just had a granola bar or those 100 cal snack packs, which is what I used to do. I try to eat almonds, string cheese, fruit w/ cheese, jerky, greek yogurt, and I definitely stay full longer.
  • Depending on your weight/ height, it may not be that far off. I burn less than 200 cals in 30 mins doing a workout. Bodyrock isn't as much about cals burned as it is toning your body. I noticed a significant change in my abs, shoulders, and thighs once I started Bodyrocking.
  • I moved up slowly (1500 to 1900) over the course of 3 months. I am pretty much where I want to be numbers wise in weight, and I didn't really gain any over that slow increase. I may have even lost a half pound or so. As others said, patience is vital to EM2WL - nothing will change overnight.
  • My fiancee is obsessed with Chipotle, so he eats it almost daily and I generally eat it once a week. It's a great Friday dinner when I'm too tired to cook or think about food. I either get a bowl w/ rice, black beans, fajita veggies, any of the meat (I recently have fallen in love w/ barbacoa), medium and tomato salsa,…
  • I ate the MFP recommended 1220 cals for about 3 days before I thought I was going to hurt someone. I lost a lot of the weight eating 1400-1500, but now I'm close to maintenance so I'm eating 1900 cals and trying to tone up.
  • This is great! I feel like I eat the same snacks all the time, so this is great for adding some variety in my life!
  • Yeah, that's what I used before I got a HRM. I'd definitely recommend getting one, especially to record cals burned with something like BodyRock, because it's a short, intense workout and the burns are really different depending on exercise. I got Polar FT4 for $60 on amazon and it's worked great so far.
  • Honey Mustard from Bolthouse is my absolute favorite, but all their flavors are pretty tasty.
  • Haha I will confirm my NSync, Backstreet, NKOTB, and NKOTBSB on my playlists. Pop/rap music tends to get me going more so than rock, although Pour Some Sugar on Me and Are You Gonna Be My Girl are 2 of my favs.
  • Ooh holleysings, those sound tasty. I was wondering what to do with my massive box of Heart Smart mix and now I know.
  • You're correct geordiegirl....exercise is calculated within the scooby #s.
