  • I purchased Supreme 90, which is similar to P90x but most workouts are 30-40 minutes long and it only cost $30 on amazon. I thought it was definitely a challenging workout.
  • Bump. Trying these this week!
  • Bump - sounds tasty!
  • Peanut butter and almond butter are my go-tos if I'm short the end of the night, and I'm usually low on fats. Sometimes with a spoon, sometimes on a rice cake, but so yummy.
  • Not necessarily "favorite quotes" but phrases that I say nearly every day. "You're killin' me Smalls!" - The Sandlot "What's with today today?" - Empire Records
  • Feel free to add me anybody. I started EM2WL last June and got to my goal weight recently. Now I'm focused on toning and hitting my macros.
  • I eat them for lunch 2-3 times per week. I tend to eat Lean Cuisines or Healthy Choice (the steamers are super tasty) because I find they have generally more calories and less sodium then the Smart Ones. I look for the meals with 18 or more grams of protein and as close to 300 calories as possible. I also don't find the…
  • I have the DVDs and do the workouts occasionally. Can't comment on success because I don't use it as the program was intended. I just work them into my exercise regimen maybe 2-3 times a week. I do feel the strength training dvds the day after, so they definitely work the muscles. I like them because they are shorter than…
  • It's indirectly a problem for me, because it's been a big problem with my fiance :) I bought body fortress, which I found out later was the cheapest brand possible (and it doesn't make good shakes at all), so I'm not sure if whatever's added into it is causing the excessive smells in my house. But I am almost done with the…
  • I find that if I focus more on meeting my protein macros, then my carbs and fat tend to fall in place. I love carbs, so focusing on protein makes me stop and think before I reach for the popchips. I've learned to reach for the cheese or nuts instead.
  • Hey there! You can add me too. I started with this group in June.
  • It's not about adding junk to reach your calorie goals. Just eat a little more of the food you're already eating. Instead of 1 egg, have 2. Instead of 1 serving of nuts, have 1.5 or 2.
  • Yesterday....started with lunch where I had chicken/spinach/white wine sauce lasagna from a food truck (came with side salad). But the chocolate raspberry filled cannoli was only $1 so yes please! Then HH after a meeting - 2 glasses of wine, some quesadilla, fried calamari, hummus & pita chips, bruschetta. Then on to meet…
  • Congrats on your engagement! I ordered my dress in August for my wedding in April and it should be here in the next couple weeks! I was told to order mine a little on the earlier side because of Chinese New Year, when I guess clothing production pretty much ceases for a while. I agree with everyone that you need to find…
  • When I lived alone I made a lot of soups and chilis because you could freeze portions, the items needed are generally low cost, and food like that always taste better after a few days.
  • I try to stay at calorie goal, and focus on hitting my protein macros daily. I find when I focus on protein, I tend to get a lot closer on my other macros as well.
  • I was that person actually. I originally set my TDEE to light activity because I couldn't imagine that I needed to eat that much. Once I realized human bodies are machines and need fuel to function at their best, I upped my cals, and the last 5lbs were lost. Also remember you're eating that every single day, and not eating…
  • But even with a desk job, you are most likely not sedentary. Hardly anyone would be sedentary, according to these calculators. You're most likely in the moderate category if you work out 6 days per week. I have similar stats - 5'4", currently weigh 125. For moderate activity, my TDEE is 2080 and my 10% cut was 1860 or so.
  • 15.5 inches last time I measured. I'm in no-man's land between regular calved boots and wide calf.....so I have an endless supply of booties that look great with skirts and pants. 13.5 seems like an average calf size - embrace it
  • Vanity sizing is a US phenomenon to make people feel good about themselves. Sizes have basically changed, so what was a size 8 is now a size 4 in most standard mall stores. It's a little ridiculous, because it doesn't fool most people. And I have no idea what actual size 2 people wear if everything is so big. Add to that…
  • Awww what great news! Our cats have been together for 4 years and they've never cuddled. The closest we get is if one won't move from the couch so they sit butt to butt - or when the older one will give the younger a drive-by lick in the face. Then the younger one swats her in the head and they wrestle for 20 minutes, but…
  • I found bodyrock and ZWOW about 10 months ago and I love it! It's great for me since I don't have a lot of time to workout with very long work days to be able to do a quick workout at home. I don't have any equipment either - although I'm asking for a sandbag for Xmas. I use regular weights for a lot of the exercises, I…
  • Thank kels and congrats to you on your progress - read your post and looks like you're kicking butt! I'm 5'4" and I'm generally a 4 for dresses in the US, but I find the vanity sizing to be a little ridiculous and hard to believe.
  • Haha now I'm not so sure thanks to haybales comment. I haven't measured so I don't have a definite set of inches that I lost, but I have bought an entire new set of pants/ jeans (size 2! Which is so absurd I can't even tell you. Vanity sizing has gone cray-cray!) and a lot of the new pants I bought in late spring are…
  • Thanks for all of the responses! Yeah it is excited to feel like I accomplished my goals. I could probably go down a few more, but I also think if I work on building muscle, some of the softer areas will get smaller that way instead. I also just bought all new pants and jeans and can't imagine having to buy another whole…
  • I would suggest eating more. A larger deficit doesn't necessarily mean you're going to lose weight faster. Based on your current stats, you most likely don't have a lot to lose, so you should really aim for .5 - 1 lb loss per week. I started at the same weight as you (and 1 inch taller), and it took a full year, but I got…
  • And I didn't think I could love Tedy Bruschi anymore!!!!!
  • I would also agree that you don't need a reset if you weren't eating really low cal before. I lost weight on MFP eating around 1500 and then found EM2WL and upped my cals incrementally over 2 months to my 10% cut, which is 1900ish. If you start with the 20% cut, I'd suggest in 2-3 weeks you lower your cut to 15%, which is…
  • Welcome to the group Amber! You'll find that everyone here is super supportive and can offer excellent advice. With that said, your best place to start is to read through the stickies and get a real sense of how it all works - food, macros, exercise, etc. That should help answer some of your basic questions and feel free…
