  • Did you read that article? It mentions "the study doesn't prove cause and effect", it was based on a survey people filled out one day, and they admit that all the factors together (diet, smoking, exercising, drinking) may have a cumulative effect. And it hasn't been peer reviewed.
  • It offers me caffeine, which in turn makes the world a better place because no one wants to deal with a caffeine deficient, headached me.
  • bynsky love your ticker! Bucky Katt rules!
  • I have 1 Diet Coke or Coke Zero every afternoon and oh no! I use Equal in my coffee, which I also drink 2 cups of every morning. Clearly I should be dead by now....maybe I am dead but I"m trapped in the American Horror Story Diet Coke universe.....
  • I like Bradley Cooper and all - have since Alias and Wet Hot American Summer, but how was it not Ryan Gosling? I feel like Cooper got the acknowledgement a year too late - last winter/spring it was all him, but the last few months it's been all Ryan Gosling.....which I am perfectly okay with cuz the boy is fine.
  • I don't like to eat within an hour of going to the gym, especially if I'm doing cardio because I tend to get stomach cramps, which makes for an unpleasant workout.
  • Don't really care, except that now we'll be subjected to 24-7 Kim Kardashian kraziness....ugh! Please some celeb get a DUI or do something stupid....Lindsay Lohan, we need you!
  • I loved the 1st season of Glee, but the 2nd season was a horrendous mess and I'm not sure they've recovered...too many characters, guest stars and plots that were dropped as soon as they were started. I'm watching this season but barely. I find I start checking my bank statement or filing mail. It lost its mojo. And I…

  • True dat! 2nd fav is Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid
  • I try to eat 1 piece of fruit and at least a side salad a day, but I know I should eat more. I just don't enjoy eating a lot of the fruits and veggies. I drink OJ but I hate eating an actual orange. I love applesauce, can't eat an apple. Hate uncooked carrots but force myself to eat them occasionally. Salads are tough to…
  • Bill Paxton Helen Hunt Tom Hanks post Philadelphia - make a comedy. You were funny once! Twister and Castaway would be in rotation in my version of hell. Jessica Alba - No talent
  • The upstate salad and the lucky 7 look good - I love wing sauce. They have low-fat honey mustard dressing so you can get that on the side. Some of the entrees could work if they'll let you swap the sides for salad or if they have veggies or something. Even some of the mashed sweet potato wouldn't be horrendous.
  • Wow - I feel like an alcoholic compared to some of y'all haha. I drink almost every day, assuming I have the calories for it. A glass of white wine or a light beer to enjoy with my dinner. I've made little changes because I know that this has to be part of my lifestyle, and my lifestyle involves drinking, so have to make…
  • I use one of those nylon bags that you get for free at sporting or college events when I don't use a locker. They're really small. Do you need to bring your wallet in? Wehave cubbies in the main room so I tend to put my stuff in there if I'm doing weights and will be moving around. If someone really wants an old US Weekly…
  • Except he's the one who threw down the dictionary definition as the answer to your question. He hasn't really defined what he believes is an athlete except approving or disapproving of our comments.
  • No I've never been an NFL QB, but thanks for asking. Are you saying you only need 1 of those 3 things to be an athlete or a combination of all 3? Definition of stamina: stam·i·na/ˈstamənə/ Noun: The ability to sustain prolonged physical or mental effort. I would argue a golfer fits that definition - for a professional in…
  • So what about elite QBs such as Peyton Manning or Tom Brady - they don't move around too much, they just kind of stand around and hand off or throw the ball. And Peyton's got a little gut.
  • Both on work days because I carry a lot of valuables into the gym. I just carry around one of those nylon gym bags or just my water/ipod/towel on days when I come from home. I leave my phone, wallet in the car.
  • If you asked me 3 years ago I'd completely agree with you about golf but dating someone who plays 5-6 times a week, sometimes 2-3 rounds in a day, I think there is an element of endurance/strength training/athleticism in it. If you want to hit the ball far off the tee you need strength. Endurance to play 3-4 hours for 2-3…
  • Some of the recipes and tips she gives in her emails I find useful. Found some good chicken recipes with not too many processed, diet foods. Her "cooking" show is hilarious - combined with Sandra Lee, it's the funniest hour on TV.
  • Is it really that bad to enjoy reading about celeb gossip? I love it - it's mindless entertainment. It's fun for the fashion, the gossip, the bump watches, the are they/aren't they (normally they aren't)...makes the day go by faster. I check out people.com almost every day and I never understand why people post on articles…
  • I also think that the way a person posts - words they choose, how they start off their post - says a lot about the tone to come. It's easy to tell if the person is going to respectfully disagree with the OP or topic or if they're clearly interested in just being a jerk. A board that I've been on for years had simple…
  • I watched Inspector Gadget cartoons when I was a kid - there's no way it was new in the 90s. Boy Meets World = Best.Sitcom.Ever. Still watch it every morning while I get ready for work.
  • I've been kickboxing for 5-6 years now and it's a great exercise. You burn lots of calories and you're toning at the same time with all the punches and core work. I log it as kickboxing (turbo jam), which you can find my doing a search in the MFP database.
  • I get most of my workout stuff at Target, the Champion line has lots of options. I also stock up on black and gray Hanes tanks for guys, and $5 tanks when Old Navy has a sale.
  • Because of work and gym schedules, I usually don't sit down to eat dinner until 845-9pm and generally go to bed around 1130pm. And it's a full cooked dinner, not a simple salad or something. I've eaten this late for 5 years, and since I started MFP in August I've lost 10 lbs because of what types of food I was eating, not…
  • My boyfriend and I have been living together nearly 3 years and we've always had separate accounts. Our only joint bills are rent and cell phones, so we just give each other 1 check a month to cover it. I imagine if we move or buy a house, we'll have 1 account for those bills. The main reason we have separate accounts is…
  • Big ol' word to this! The 2 lean cuisines I had this week were both under 600mg of sodium. Lean Cuisines and others have changed their recipes and ingredients - they're not as terrible as they used to be.
  • Yes and Yes! I loved Common People. Nirvana and Pearl Jam are my 2 favorite all-time bands. I listen to the 90s alternative station on itunes every day at work and it has the best mix. Others I'd add that I still listen to constantly would be Garbage, Poe, Belly and Veruca Salt (which I realized the other day I only had on…
  • Lean Cuisines are my favorite out of the group, although the Healthy Choice Steamers are also really tasty. The chicken margherita pasta is really good - the steamers look the most like "real food" IMO. I tend to alternate between those meals and sandwiches. I've never been big on eating leftovers for lunch and dinner and…
