No syncing for me either. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, and am getting a 'down for maintenance' message on MFP side, so hopefully they're working on it.

I've also found that most new members who claim to be doing 1200 a day, aren't REALLY doing 1200 a day. They aren't weighing their food, and are estimating, therefor eating a bit more than 1200 (sometimes a lot more). Weigh solids, measure liquids. Over estimating is why some on 1200 seem so satisfied. Not all, of course,…

I'm set to lose 1/2 pound a week, and have a calorie goal of 1650. I range from 1350-1600 a day. I'm a crazy person on 1200.

I get so irritated when something is listed as "1/2 cup" serving size. I change it to grams as often as I can.

You can edit user submitted entries, I do it all of the time. I haven't found a way to do it from my phone app, so I always wind up opening my laptop and doing it from the website.

I have a few friends who peddle Advocare, and I swear they are starting a new 24 day challenge every 2 months. The weight lost doesn't seem permanent, or consistent to me. I'll stick to CICO, and MFP to track. Good luck if you do go the Advocare route.

I want to feel better about myself also. I'm tired of avoiding the mirror, and being uncomfortable in anything but yoga pants. :-/ I'm purposely going VERY slow (5 pounds in 65 days so far), and I've mentally prepared myself for 1 year of counting before maintenance. I have about 30 pounds to lose.

Mine is pretty simple. I want to lose weight, so that my clothes fit looser. :p

No one gains muscle that quick and at a deficit. It's water retention from the new exercise, I'm struggling with it now as well.

I have days where I'm starving even eating all of my exercise calories, and I have days where I'm completely fine eating the lower end. I sent a friend request so you could look at my diary. My calorie goal, before exercise is around 1500. I'm 5'5" and 184, 37 years old.

I agree. I call BS on only eating fruits and veggies at home. OP is being manipulated. Now...to be fair and constructive...hide some oils into her meals. Peanut butter. More cheese. Also, I have an anorexic child...so when I call BS above, it's out of experience. My kid won't eat no matter where we are...none of this…

My surgery was on March 28, and I was really sore for about a week. I remember my daughters birthday, April 4, struggling a bit. My two week appointment, I felt great. Went for my check up, out to lunch after! All in all, I would have needed two weeks off work, preferably 3. I got tired easier for about a month. I was…

I'm almost exactly one year out from mine. I logged here religiously after surgery, and actually lost 20 pounds relatively easy. I then got very lazy and gained it back after an injury in August... Anyway, I don't think it affected my weight loss, and I don't blame it for my gaining it back. I kept my ovaries.

This has been a huge help, thank you all! I'm heading to my settings now to enable negative adjustments.

She mentioned in her original post that she's had a gastric sleeve. Her stomach IS smaller than an average adult.

I think I've got it now! Today is essentially a non exercise day, and fitbit hasn't added any calories. On exercise days, it can add up to 600. Thank you!

"I generally hit sedentary level at around 2500-4000 steps." The above is a copy and paste of an example, what exactly does this mean?
-
I definitely have it linked, and I'm set to sedentary, I have been for years! I guess my question is...is 'reaching sedentary' the point where my Fitbit starts giving me extra calories on MFP? I'm having a hard time explaining my question...

I noticed the app,on my phone dropped me down to 960 this afternoon. I logged on from my computer, and switched my goal from 1/2 pound a week to 1 pound a week, then back to 1/2 pound. It reset and put me back up to 1550 calories. Tried to change my goals again from the phone app-- and it dropped me back down to 960. I'm…

Send me a request! I've logged for over 100 days, the good-the bad and the ugly. Haha!

Also, this site has been a huge help: http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/forums/

My 16 year old daughter was just formally diagnosed mid April, and started Trileptil. She's actually lost weight. Different epilepsy meds have different side effects. The most important thing, is to eat a balanced diet and get the seizures under control. My daughter is counting down the days until she can drive again. (6…

It's a toss up between my kitchen scale and my HRM. I can't imagine going without either now.
-
Why not? As long as it fits within your macros...

Ive been at 0.5 pound a week and sedentary, but I did just change it to lightly active and 0.5 pound a week. I'll give it a month or so, and focus on eating back the majority of my exercise calories.
-
Sounds perfect. I do NOT log day to day. You'll never see me logging cleaning or cooking, hahaha! I only log when I pop on the chest strap to my HRM and head out for a workout.
-
So set it to sedentary, and continue to add workouts manually?
-
I LOVE it! I use it daily, and order off Amazon. I've only tried the chocolate.
