  • I do belong to a gym, but do most of my exercise at home. I buddy of mine and I meet at the gym on weekends, but need to work at home to make progress. I have to travel a lot on business as well and not all of the hotels have good gyms. I have used Turbulence Training (Craig B - http://www.turbulencetraining.com/) for some…

  • Wish I could give you a more precise answer, but the best I found was an article on the Livestrong website - http://www.livestrong.com/article/301916-how-many-calories-are-burned-using-a-total-gym/ Another option would be to find an entry for vigorous calisthenics and use it as a substitute. Hope this helps... MJ

  • I joined in August, but this is my 65th day of working weightloss in earnest. There is no question with all the potlucks, baked goods, etc (I'll spare us the full description) available each day in the office during the holidays - support is really important. Looking to navigating the holiday waters successfully this year…

(Congratulations by the way) You've already started "the new you"... you fell off the wagon, "oh well" happens to us all. Welcome aboard again... you'll be back at your ideal weight in no time. If you fall off again for a bit... oh well - just…
  • I know exactly where you're coming from... been through the cycle a couple times because of depression, injury/surgery, etc. Here's how I'm at peace with it - it's not about the last time, the time before that or the first time... it's only about this time... and this time I want to lose it and keep it off. Now - I can't…
  • Congratulations! Thanks for sharing...success stories like yours are always highly motivating for me. MJ
  • Welcome! Glad to have you aboard.
  • I usually plan (budget in my calories) a piece of fruit for those times of low energy. It works for me and keeps me from going after some of the snacks that wouldn't be as good for me. Not sure if this is the sort of advise you're looking for, but it's what I do. Good luck!
  • It's a journey - you've taken the first step! Welcome aboard. I'm with you on pizza. I've been able to avoid that one using one of two things: * Smart One's Mini-Pizzas. They're roughly 300 calories for four mini pizzas and sometimes satisfy the craving. * Home Made Pepperoni Pita Pizza. Buy some whole-wheat pitas (approx…
  • Welcome aboard. I understand your struggle. I injured my shoulder in Oct 2010 and finally had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and torn bicep in August 2011. I struggled with depression from not being able to keep the weight off (and other things) and that made my weight gain worse. In October, I was finally released…
